UPMC took over the Somerset hospital and it made it so much more better! The nurses work very hard making sure everything is working properly and everyone has what they need. I had to have back surgery and had stayed over night I was very well taken care of...I had no problems with anyone they all was very helpful, especially Jodie, Eunice and Brenda they was with me the most during my time there.. They were once patients themselves at one time so they thought about those little things that made it all the better.. It's those little things in life that matters most (in my opinion)..If you didn't call for your food when it was time your phone would ring to make sure you wouldn't miss having something before the kitchen closed for the night.. Somerset hospital has some a long way and it's only getting better and better.. Thank you for everything to ALL of my nurses and to DR. Sharma For doing an amazing job on my surgery.. He is the only Surgeon who will make sure you have a back brace and a Ice pack that Velcros around your waist Both are top of the Line..

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dream Life Recovery, the staff and the community I ve had the privilege of being a part of during my recent stay. It has been by far the best therapy I ve received on my recovery journey. The lessons I ve learned about my myself there are paramount in my recovery efforts. My recovery journey has spanned over two decades and included dozens of treatment centers. After 8 years of sobriety, I spent 6 years in a devastating series of relapses. Arriving at DreamLife, I had lost the will to live and determined myself hopeless. I wasn't a friendly face or an easy case. Despite my best efforts to sabotage myself, the staff at DreamLife fought for me. They saw value in my life that I couldn't. Having been to many rehabs, none are perfect. Some have 5-star amenities or an ideal climate and location. But what matters are the staff and the treatment itself. DreamLife is second to none in these departments. Many staff are in recovery and know what it takes to live successfully with this devastating disease. The therapists are top notch and provide holistic and proven modalities to fit clients unique needs. My trauma, self-defeating behaviors and cognitive distortions were all addressed. Because of DreamLife, I have a life again, one I was convinced was beyond reach. Eternally grateful.

I ll try to keep this review brief, but there are so many good things to share. My father was transferred to Conemaugh Medical Center from a smaller hospital. When he arrived by ambulance, he was struggling to breathe severely. Dr. Scott Bingham had the difficult conversation with him about intubation and the ventilator, and my father agreed. My sister and I, both living out of state, rushed to be by his side in the middle of the night. He spent two and a half weeks in the 6 Rose ICU, where he received outstanding care. A huge thank you to Dr. Scott Bingham, Dr. Dario Fiorelli, and the incredible ICU nurses Christina, Sally, Shenna, Jake, Cassie, Bridgett, Karly, Jo, and Taylor. The respiratory team was also fantastic, and Nurse Manager JR Love was incredibly kind and responsive. The ICU was kept clean. After receiving a tracheostomy and feeding tube, my father was transferred to the 8 Ashman medical/vent floor. Nurse Manager Stephanie was exceptionally kind, caring, and helpful. Special thanks to Nurses Issac, Molly, Robert and Paula for their compassionate and attentive care. After a week in 8 Ashman, he was discharged to Select, where they are now weaning him off the ventilator.I also want to express my gratitude to Gary from the valet department his warm smile, caring attitude, and genuine concern for my father never went unnoticed. As someone who works in a hospital in New York, I was truly impressed by the level of care at Conemaugh Medical Center. My family and I are deeply grateful for the exceptional staff who went above and beyond for my father during this critical time.

When it comes to M.A.T. and Outpatient Therapy, there are 2 options in the Altoona/Duncansville Area. Having personally tried both facilities, (Discovery House & Dolminis Pyramid), I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Dolminis is by far the superior choice. Everything from the cleanliness of the facility, to the vibe of the counselors, to the warmth and caring attitude of the nurses is all levels above what you'll receive at Discovery House.

Staff is helpful and facility is clean. They offer 2 maintence programs for opiate addiction. Methadone and Suboxone. They take most insurance or you can pay cash. The methadone program cost roughly $125 per week. However they will work with cash paying patients that need some type of payment arrangement. If you need help with your addiction and don't feel that you're ready to quit cold turkey on your own Discovery is a positive alternative.

I have been going here for going on 15 years on June 30th, It's been the best place for my recovery journey, my counselors have been nothing shy of amazing, even the many I have gone through, but each one has taught me so much and given me the courage to keep going with my recovery even when I wanted to quit and go back to my old life style. So to say this place is not it, is a bunch of crap! Because if you truly want to have a better lifestyle the changes come within, the treatment center is for guidance, assistance and support! Everyone was friendly, patient and kind. Was taken back for my procedure and greeted by the nicest nurse, Marguerite. She took care of me the whole time. She made a stressful situation so much better and felt like someone who truly cared about me took care of me today. Cannot be more thankful and grateful for the care I received today. Had my daughter here in November. The nurses were all amazing (albeit I didn t like one of them, but I was there for over 24 hrs so one out of many is not bad!) Doctor Clark was absolutely amazing made sure I was comfortable as possible and helpful from start to finish! The nurses who helped me deliver were the best! I loved my night nurse all together. My nurse from 7pm-11 at my delivery was my favorite (I loved them all) she was so helpful and caring and compassionate. My postpartum staff was also wonderful very caring and reassuring.
