Life changing. Literally. Before this program, I was a broken, shell of a person. Five months later, I’ve got relationships with friends and family back. I have ambition, purpose, and I’m hopeful for the future. Between all of the therapists & case managers like Bri and JP, the staff at Ocean State actually cares. In comparison, no other program even comes close. If you’re on the fence about choosing a program or taking that first step to reach out for help, call Ocean State. I guarantee you won’t regret it. EDIT: I was hired here shortly after completing the program and my opinion of this place has only gotten better since starting to work here almost a year ago.

I was convinced that no medication could help me, much less save me, but a counselor here told me not to close myself to the idea that some procedure could save me, I did it, and here I am sober, clean, and willing to continue the treatments. You know, seeing a 4.4 star rating on anything to do with addiction, is a flat out miracle. Addicts are some of the whiniest, hardest people to please. So the rating itself should be a testament. I’ve been in this program for a few years now, even commuting from white plains. That’s how much I love it. The staff is so special, they all care about the patients in a way that is unparalleled in this industry. I’ve had every opportunity to switch clinics, I never will until my last day on methadone. I had ambulatory / outpatient surgery on my knee here last week, and dare I say, it was actually a pleasant experience! Every employee I encountered was professional and polite, from security, to check-in, to nurses and doctors. Staff was very caring and thorough, which is refreshing these days. Because of my ride situation, I arrived about an hour early, but they accommodated me with no problem. The surgery went smoothly, and the recovery room nurse was excellent. Discharge also went smoothly, and it was easy for my ride to park close to the building, so an attendant could wheel me out to the car. I'd rate them a 10 out of 10.

Best sober living in NJ. Really nice, spacious, comfortable home (that’s an actual photo in the profile) in a quiet, safe, classy neighborhood with easy access to main thoroughfares/highways. Residents get relatively more freedom than their peers at other sober homes, but while still getting all the support they want/need. There are rules to follow of course, like regular testing to ensure sobriety, but for the most part it’s not a universal set of restrictions, but rather a unique system of support/care tailored to each individual. The case manager, Abbie, is on site M-F, is a wonderful person, and will literally help you with anything. Also, a great perk is free dinner that you order everyday, included with the reasonably priced rent. Finally, Howard (owner) & the aforementioned Abbie are just incredible people, a delight to be around & get to know, and are genuinely invested in each & every resident’s success in all facets of life. Can’t say enough about this place!

This is a without a doubt one of the better sober living houses in the tri-state area. It is plainly evident that the owner and the house manager have a genuine interest in seeing the residents succeed. They care a lot; and they are actively engaged on a daily basis with residents to help with recovery, day to day living concerns, planning and the transition from addiction back to a happy, whole and functional member of society. They work hard to have the house feel like a community. The house is spacious, clean and well kept. Appliances and furnishing are modern and tidy. The house is on a traditional residential cul-de-sac, which is not a common set up for a sober living. In that regard, the house is not walker-friendly and a car is almost a necessary thing to have to be able to comfortably get around town. The surrounding towns have all the necessities and activities that a person needs, but you can't walk there. Overall, Cambridge is a good stopover on your recovery journey.

I was at Steppingstone in 1998! I had my issues with them. Plenty. But, i stuck it out, moved into a grad apartment after almost a year in the phase 1 and 2 houses and got thrown out on my ass for a positive for opiates urine. False positive. My Stepingstone Sisters all pitched in so i had the $35 (in change)for a restest. and instead of another test they retested the same tainted sample. So i was thrown out. I have my suspucions a sto what happened but i got to see karma hand look e that! It made me even stronger. I stayed sober. And guessed where I worked for 2 years after being thrown out? Yup. Stepingstone Woman's House. The person i think was responsible for my dirty urine had gotten the boot and i gladly worked there in the office. And, I made sure i treated every single woman with kindness, respect and compassion and i think i was well liked and respected by most. I remember Richie before he was mgr. I knew him. I knew his gif look friend at the time too. I don't know if he's there now but i saw his name mentioned. So, my point is this: Dont bite your nose off to spite your face. You're there for yourself. Sure there are some anal orafices around but who are they to you in the long run...nobody. Focus on yourself and your sobriety. Then get out and live your lives as best you can. I don't ever wanna go back to that miserable, degrading life again. Do you? I don't ever wanna live at Steppingstone or any other halfway house ever again and get pushed around and bullied at times. I will never be told when to go to bed, when I wake up, when and where I eat I'm here to tell you that you don't have to ever again. It's up to you. Your adults. Plus i can tell you right now from reading some of these whose sober and who isn't. Don't hang with the losers. You know who they are. Good luck.

Stevens is a great place for youth who need help. The staff work extremely well with the youth, focusing on their individual needs, which I think is highly beneficial. I, as a former youth, enjoyed the events they held—such as Summer Jam, the holiday play, cookouts, and much more. The clinical services they offer are excellent. The structure and routines are consistent and beneficial, and they will do everything they can to make sure that when you leave, you will be a successful individual.

God Bless Eamonn, the owner, he does his best to help a growing demographic of men who have drug and alcohol addictions. The clientele there are good people just trying to recover and get their lives back together. There's more structure than some houses-and less structure than others. It's all what you put into it, and many men have had full and complete recoveries, and lasting sobriety by finding/staying at the Association for Sober Living in North Attleboro. Great comradery and opportunity to develop new friendships here-with other men who are struggling also. If you put in the time and effort, you too can discover a new way of living CLEAN and SOBER. My boyfriend spent 6 months here. It was the best choice he could have made. The house is kept clean and everyone is serious about recovery. They offer private rooms and don’t pack guys in the house just to make more money.. They really care about your success.

This is great home with a staff that really cares about the guys best interests. The home is kept neat and clean. Everyone works and is on track to getting their lives back. The staff are always available to help out with anything the guys need. The staff also stocks a community refrigerator/freezer with food so that there is always something on hand to eat. Every guy also gets a membership at a local fitness facility.
