That was exactly what I needed, they taught me the basic stuff and also the most complex one and now here I am completely recovered. 7 years ago I got my wife (and life) back! I love her more than anything, but I’d be lying if I said she made it easy. She would have left if the staff hadn’t encouraged her to stick it out. I recently completed the PHP inpatient program here. I immediately felt a positive and welcoming energy walking thru the doors. I met with their intake employee and could tell he genuinely cared about my well being and he helped to instill hope in me that things were going to be ok from day one. Super awesome, caring, and Genuine guy. My recovery manager I was assigned was on the ball and I immediately felt I could trust him and that he understood what I had been going through. My therapist I was assigned was also amazing and I got a lot out of our one-on-ones and our group therapy sessions. I almost didn't want to leave lol. The other program participants were actually happy to be there and I have never seen that at any other place Ive gone to. The entire staff really worked hard for my recovery and I can't say enough great things about this place in one day. The classes were very informative and helped me shape an entirely different perspective on life. I left there a different person I was when I came in for sure and I'm so grateful to be alive today. I wanted to die a month ago. Thank y'all so much for helping me get my life back, my family back, and a strong foundation to build my life back on. When you call to set up your walk-in appt, the staff does not tell you that your case worker/PO needs to sign a request form & they will not see you if you don’t have it signed. Made my process longer by three weeks & was stressful. This not only happened to me, but to two other people on separate days. I had to come in the first time- was told to do a walk in assessment & was faced with this issue. I have yet to see the professional I was sent here to see, so this review is based on just the initiating processes alone- which are terrible & waste people’s time. ETA: The staff themselves in the physical building are all doing their best with what they can. Obviously the state of communications is a result of lack of support from the State & local government. I honestly expected cafeteria grade food from high school school. but the jerk chicken, roast, bbq (pulled pork) meals were sincerely good, not just "as good as you would expect". I am thankful as well to some of the other patients. For a lot of people there it is some of the worst days of their lives. The atmosphere is very focused on healing, and they provide the tools. If you want to put in the work you will find not only the staff, but other patients as well, are there to help you. The atmosphere is understandably stressful circumstances given, but the staff make every effort to accommodate and offer comfort. Now raising three of my own in Summerville, (three beautiful girls)… …& for those who know the process, it’s just not easy finding therapists/counselors/ psychologists/psychiatrists— (whatever may have you ), all in one— and I’ve been to MANY so far for my two oldest daughters. I’ve seen reviews on here for Google on this specific location and they were not so good. BUT— you can NOT always go off the reviews—first hand, & that’s coming from my personal experiences, because ALL of my visits so far have been absolutely amazing!!!! The receptionist, “Shelly” is SO sweet, SO patient and super inviting. In the event of me always rushing here to be on time, when I arrive all flustered—she just makes you feel at ease and it’s simply refreshing. The building is spacious and very clean as well, so they do a great job with that. The girls’s therapists are amazing as well and I’m still getting to know them, as it’s been our first couple visits so far! My oldest daughter’s is Mrs. Sanders—( she’s great & very personable). I will update this review with my other daughter’s very soon. So, if you are looking for therapy and medication either for yourself or your children & are also in the Summerville area— I highly recommend this place!!
