I have gone through many trails since graduating but the tools and relationship with our God almighty I gained from this place has given me strength and power like no other. I have since regained my life in incredible ways, by walking with christ guiding me through out the way. I rebuilt relationships with Family, Got full custody back of my son, gained a incredible Church family, joined the chior and have been involved with many groups with in my church. Since then I have lost my Mother from cancer, then this past year my Grandmother but the peace I received from grace has been with me through it all. Nurses are chill. I loved Mr.Glenn and Mrs.Jennifer. They are the most understanding, chillest people i’ve ever interacted with . I made some mistakes while here and they won’t yell at you or make you feel bad, they were really understanding. Food is amazing! You go outside, are allowed to play xbox (they have provided), watch tv and they have good groups. You also have plenty of time to do school work. People fail to realize other people can only help you so much and you have to help yourself as well. You can’t rely on others to solve all your problems which I feel is why people give bad reviews. The most loving person to everyone there without batting an eye I honestly don't know when she loves herself but really that's how she loves herself. I called the doctors office, and left. Around 1315 someone called to setup an appointment for 1445 to be at the hospital to register and my appointment for the test would be 1500. I went back to the hospital in Walterboro, the same person was at the desk. She claimed, she still didn’t have the paperwork. I called the scheduling office and told them what’s going on and I had the lady to speak to her on speaker phone, she hardly spoke to the scheduler. She said this is the fax machine. The scheduler told her that she sent it twice. Miss lady got upset. Someone from the office was listening and she got the paperwork and brought it out. She saw where the lady was getting upset and she asked if she wanted her help me? She said no, I’ll do it. She didn’t apologize for her behavior. I said thank you and went Radiology. The lady back there did speak until I did. The person who did my test was very friendly. She introduced herself and told me what she was going do and what to expect. She pushed me to the car. Very pleasant and young lady who checked me in. As I waited in the waiting room, I sat at a social distance of 6-feet from the front entrance check in. I had no other places to sit because of the 6-foot social distancing guidelines. I saw each patient coming in and I couldn’t avoid hearing there names and last #4 of their Social Security Numbers. (Not good privacy), but what astonished me was the amount of Veterans who came in that didn’t even have an appointment just to stop in and drop things off for their PCM’s, or had questions, or wanted to talk about their health...hello, we are in a Covid19 and I couldn’t understand why there isn’t “common sense” being used, or not understanding that you just can’t drop in. I’ve ALWAYS have had great service at this VA-Trident clinic from the laboratory and they’ve always have been in time. When I did get called back, I was asked how I was doing, and I replied not well today! Ms Luz, responded, “that’s good”! I said, why did you just say that after I said I wasn’t doing good? Ms Luz (name badge said her name and that she’s from PERU , and she said that’s it’s just natural to say that. Well, I don’t think that this is a natural reply, and if you really ask someone how they are doing, listen to that persons response, and respond with sincerity. They know the games addicted will play and they r there for I but u have to do the work! I was very impressed with their program for my loved one and she has had her life back for a while now! I had burned every bridge, lost all hope, and truly believed I was going to die stuck in addiction to drugs and alcohol. What I found here was real recovery. This is a true Alcoholics Anonymous program that takes you through the 12 steps the way they were meant to be worked. It is not easy and it is not comfortable. It is structured, disciplined, and requires you to be honest and willing. But that is exactly why it works. They didn’t just help me stop drinking and using. They showed me how to live. Day by day, step by step, I was pushed to face myself and change from the inside out. Somewhere in that process, I had a spiritual awakening that I still carry with me today. The obsession to drink and use was lifted, and for the first time in my life I felt free. When I left, I didn’t walk away with money or material success, but I walked away with something far more valuable. I am no longer a slave to drugs and alcohol. I have peace of mind, purpose, and a program of recovery that I can take with me anywhere in the world. I also want to give a special thank you to Lisa and Big Worm. They stood by me and helped guide me through one of the most emotional and difficult times of my life. When everything felt overwhelming, they were there, helping me stay grounded and reminding me why I started. I will never forget the impact they had on my recovery. This program is not for everyone. If you are looking for something easy or expect to be handed a solution, this probably is not the place. But if you are truly sick and tired of addiction, if you have exhausted every option, and you are willing to do the work, follow direction, and commit to real change, this place can save your life.
