Mr Higgles 7 months ago Upon arrivngl at Lexington Addiction Center(LAC) I was greeted with friendly staff that was awaiting my arrival. At first I was nervous because I was 500 miles away from home and didn't know anyone, but as I started to settle in things got easier. I shared a house with about 10 others that was in recovery just like me. The house was clean and well furnished. I had the opportunity to attend AA meetings 5 times a day which in part helped with my sobriety. My case manager kerstin was very helpful in assisting me with issues that I was going through at home as well as housing and giving me overall information that I needed to secure housing. I can't say enough how LAC has helped me. I appreciate all the staff for assisting me through this journey. If you are thinking about going to LAC please do so with an open mind and ready to get on the road to recovery, this place is really great! Everyone I saw on my first visit made it a point to introduce themselves to me, even if they weren't my personal Counselor, or Doctor or whatever, it was really nice of everyone, but I didn't give it much more thought, not until I came in the next day and EVERYONE that I had met the day before greeted me by name! I quickly learned that this is just one of the staff's super powers. I don't know how they memorize everyone's names so quickly, but it's quite impressive and very appreciated. I could go on and on, but I will leave you with one piece of advice. If you are struggling with addiction and are ready to take control of your life back, you should consider coming in and talking to the kickass staff at BrightView, you'll be glad you did. I was left struggling daily by another clinic in town that would instantly shut me down when I would try to talk about the struggles I was having. I came here and the Dr listened to me. However, the rest of the hospital has been beyond exceptional. During covid in 2022, I spent two weeks recovering in the Lex VA hospital and really got to see exceptional care. Last year I spent a total of a month (two weeks each time) in the Lex VA hospital and was reminded why I stay in the Lex VA region. From nursing assistants, nurses, doctors, physical rehabilitation, nutritionist and everyone that took care of me on a daily basis showed beyond exceptional care. Ive been through a few VA care systems. Some were... dangerous for patient care and you felt that going in. My only complaint would be the doctor turnover rate can make it difficult to get comfortable with a doctor. But, the doctors are always above par. The staff is wonderful and always eager to help. The Office is also clean and easy to get to. Terri and TJ have been working there from the start and I would trust them with my life. I'm grateful for a a good place I can trust with my recovery. Truth is I would be just another statistic dead due to overdose! They have taught me how to live again, love myself, and become a productive member of society. With the medication along with the groups and counseling and support from their human resource team. I’ve been able to get back on my feet and any bumps in the road they are always their the help me figure it out.With the groups and counseling have helped me reprogram my brain into a healthier mindset to deal with everyday life situations with out turning to drugs. It doesn’t happen overnight it has taken me years to get where I am, but it works, and that’s why I’ve always came back. I know what I can be using this life changing program. I know where I would b if I didn’t come back and keep trying. I know I would not have been able to help my daughter get ready for prom, be here to take pictures with my kids on Mother’s Day and for that I’m so grateful to the team that I’ve worked with at Spero heath all these years. It’s definitely saved my life and I’m grateful I’m grateful for all the doctors they take their time if you need them to answer anything you ask them the staff are absolutely wonderful. The staff, nurses, social workers and management care was as good as any care she has ever gotten anywhere. Please don’t judge this facility by its cover. Once you see inside you will be amazed at the level of care and compassion. It was a wonderful experience for a woman that needed some special care. She received it at the highest level.
