I drank everyday for 17 years following my return from service overseas. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive to my needs as well as the others I met in residential treatment. They definitely were able to reach the root of my alcohol addiction and help put forth a plan for my continued success. I am almost 3 months sober and truly haven't felt better in my life. I believe God put these people in my path to help guide me. Thank you Sagebrush staff. If you do happen to go there, there is a program assistant that is ok at ping pong. Going to CFD McLean for ARFID treatment saved my life.
When I entered the facility, I was a shell of myself and had zero 'safe' foods; with the support of all the staff, this number quickly grew to 50+.
Specifically for ARFID, this facility is equipped and incredibly knowledgeable + understand the severity of this ED. They are also incredibly knowledgeable of Celiac disease and food allergies + sensitivities.
The staff goes above and beyond to make the environment safe during meals, exposures, in the communal area and kitchen, group sessions, individual therapy, nutrionally, etc - anywhere where there is a potential trigger for ARFID.
Exposures to 'new' foods are done safely and with support from the staff. I will call out that Specifically, Scott is phenomenal at supporting and guiding patients through food exposures.
Anna (dietician) does everything in her power and more to assure that the care plan is tailored to needs and is balanced. She is also a master at collaborating with other care team members to make sure that patients are well supported.
Kathy as a therapist truly understands ARFID and tailors all therapy to make sure that a patient is going to be able to meet goals and is supported through all the moments: highs, lows, amd everything in between.
I need to credit Scott, a tech, for singlehandedly saving me. His care, willingness to support through all the moments, guidance, and consistent support is why I was able to get back on my feet - he is truly 1 in a million and CFD is the luckiest to have such a kind, passionate, and caring staff member on their team.
Every single staff member at CFD cares and patients can literally feel it through their advocacy, support, guidance, and everything in between.
Amanda, Kayla, Jennifer, Liz, Emily K, Emily R, Ona, Dr.Irving were also instrumental in getting me back on my feet.
Highly recommend CFD McLean to anyone seeking residential ED treatment!

Center for Discovery has done everything under the sun for me. I was there for 8 weeks before being stepped to a psychiatric unit. The 8 weeks i spent there were rough for me, but the team did everything in their power to help me. As I neared the point of having to leave the facility, everyone truly did everything in their power to allow me to stay. Even though I do have to leave for the time being, I really do hope to return once I am able to. Amanda, Emily R, and Liz were all amazing and are some of the best people out there. There really are no words for how incredibly wonderful Newport was for my child. They were very good. They helped me when I was at my lowest. They worked together to distract me. I awoled a lot, people probably say I was supposed to go there but I did. They truly helped me. The therapists are also really good, and well trained. I really can’t call out just one person, because they all came together to support me.

I cannot speak more highly of Newport. I read negative reviews when considering sending my 12 year old. I was terrified. No parent wants to do this, let alone drop their kid out of state. It was a horrible decision but we decided to take the leap for fear that her life may be over if we didn’t. (Or that she would never move past the pain she was in, at best…)
Our experience was wonderful. Newport treats the kids like they matter. The rooms are cozy and more home-like, which warmed my mama heart. This place is what I wish all crisis intervention places are like, but sadly are not. Children deserve better. Newport does it right.
My child is better off for having been through the program. She came back with tools and a better outlook. We then got her in a therapeutic school and I’m happy to say she’s thriving! I’ll never say it isn’t a journey. She still struggles here and there. But we are light years beyond what we hoped for back then and I attribute quite a bit to the care she got at Newport. She would agree and that says something …

Getting help for your substance use is very personal and personalized. Everybody is gonna have different experiences. While asking for help and following through is not easy or necessarily fun, the team you work with is going to help you a lot. Sandstone helped me with the building blocks I needed to be alive today. This was my first time in treatment. Honestly, it completely changed my life. The bonds that I ve made in this place, the sober network I ve built, getting my psych meds right, the entire staff and facilitators- have all been such an extraordinary experience for me. I never understood the difference between just being sober/clean versus actually working a program/recovery. RU has helped me to understand that recovery goes beyond clean time- and it s about changing who you are for the better and continuing to progress as a person overall. I have been going to Savida since 12/24 and it has been such a nice journey for my recovery. The office is always clean and stocked up with snacks. Donna-Fe is so sweet and very helpful. Appointments are always very well scheduled with little to no wait time to see the providers. Art is a great counselor. He listens so well to you, I wish the sessions were longer, that's how good of a counselor he is. Kyle Jones has been my Physician and he is very sweet, a good listener and always asks how one is doing besides just prescribing medications. I have also seen Stephanie Rutherford who has been injecting my Vivitrol shots. She is also very sweet and knows her stuff. I have come a long way with Savida and it has been such a great experience this time around in my recovery. This place definetly makes you feel welcomed and accepted.

This is a greatClinic. Very clean, neat and orderly. The staff is very hospitable and welcomes you with open arms. The staff at Medstar have always been above and beyond

I recently had an appointment in the MRI center and my experience was very pleasant. From the moment my mom and I walked into the hospital, the waiting area, to having the MRI done. Everyone was kind and made me feel at ease. The gentleman that did the MRI explained everything thoroughly which I appreciated. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I just started going here a couple months ago. Dr. Edmonds has been thorough and very helpful to me. Dr. Jordan was very helpful as well. The administrative staff, nurses, and techs have all been polite, professional and helpful. With phone calls, on site appointments, referrals, etc. I think these folks at the Southern PG county clinic are doing a great job helping veterans. Thanks everyone!

I have taken several program participants to various medical and mental health appointments over the years both in Virginia and in Maryland and was hands down super impressed with the staff at the CSB juvenile, adult, and emergency services. There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have been with an individual to the primary care as well and enjoyed the collaboration with DO Pristell.

An excellent house to go if you're in need of mental health care. Unlike going to a hospital psyche ward, where the nurses are just waiting for their shift to end and the doctor talks to you quickly and writes some prescriptions and rushes you out to see the next patient, the entire staff focuses on you. From the doctor, to the counselors and even the cooking staff, they focus on every patient as an individual and get deeply involved in your case. A very warm, cozy, welcoming environment, nice rooms and bathrooms, and excellent food. It's like a second home you can collect yourself and gather your thoughts and prepare for the outside world again. I highly recommend.

A real life saver. I have PTSD, amongst other things, and the folks here helped me learn how to survive with it. One staff member helped me through one of the worst flashbacks I have ever suffered. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, there is no shame in letting someone save you.

The house that is associated with this property is a great place to go if you're in need of emergency mental health care and assistance from substance abuse. They do not offer detox specifically but if you're doing a detox, they are able to support with their varied staff of psychiatrists, PRN, nurses, and psychologists as well as peer support specialists. I wouldn't have made it to today as psychologically intact as I am without them! My issues were: they cannot always accommodate a vegetarian or vegan diet & the nightly bed checks require some disturbance if you're a light sleeper. They offer ear plugs but you may want to bring a sleep mask to get your best rest. They are genuinely caring people and I highly recommend!

I’ve been at Insight for five years and have been able to grow professionally and as a clinician. I stay at Insight because I love it here. I have the freedom to set my own schedule and am encouraged to be as creative as possible. As therapists we’re often working with difficult situations. Even so, there is an atmosphere of joy and laughter in the office – one that our clients feel as well. CFD saved my life I have battled an Ed for 2 years now and since coming here and just leaving my life has been turned upside down for the better. I have learned so much here than I have in any other treatment. CFD helped me fix my body image issues and helped my exercise addiction and I was able to find other activities to enjoy besides those. All the staff here are absolutely amazing and so kind. I love you Sebastian, Lydia, nurse ester, and Sarah. I had a therapist switch in the middle of treatment but my new therapist was still able to provide an amazing experience at CFD and helped me so much. CFD is great and the treatment is very personalized with your own personal meal plan and after a while you can prep your own meals and go on walks. My favorite thing was going out and going on exposures to help me. All my peers were amazing and always so helpful. The staff is so kind and respectful. You can also go on walks once you reach medical stability. Highly recommend CFD.

Center for discovery really saved my life! when I was admitted to cfd I was scared, but all the staff were so welcoming and very helpful with answering any questions I had. Most of the staff were extremely kind and so understanding. Nurse Esther was the best nurse ive ever had an all of my treatment.
