This was my first time in treatment. Honestly, it completely changed my life. The bonds that I ve made in this place, the sober network I ve built, getting my psych meds right, the entire staff and facilitators- have all been such an extraordinary experience for me. I never understood the difference between just being sober/clean versus actually working a program/recovery. RU has helped me to understand that recovery goes beyond clean time- and it s about changing who you are for the better and continuing to progress as a person overall. I’ve been going here for 6months and before that I was at the VA. There’s a few differences between them both but most of all I can tell the Care. I have had 2 Counselors which is understandable considering the work load they have. Since the begining I have been happy and impressed how easy they made my transferring. I started just where I left off at the VA.The only thing I don’t agree with or understand is when getting an increase u have to pick up for 3days before getting ur tak homes. I can understand this policy when u a starting out. But it doesn’t make much sense after that. I can also say when there was a problem with my pick up (ther Mistake) my councler fixed and had all my bottles in 30mins. All I can say is If u work the program it works. Thank you

I love my counselor here at Pinnacle treatment center FCCR Radford. I feely counselor Lauren is amazing she’s does everything she can possibly do for. Shes supplies me with wonderful advice, wonderful resources and everything else a counselor should do. This is the only MAT program clinicnive ever been to but they have been amazing. If you are serious about your recovery they most definitely are going to help you. I’ve had a couple friends go to other clinics and from what was said FCCR is more strict and that’s so important. Especially if you are serious about your recovery and do really want to better yourself and your life. The office staff is amazing there. The nurses are wonderful. I’ve had 3 different counselors due to 2 of them moving on to better their lives, but every counselor I have had has been wonderful. Very helpful. Easy to talk to. This hospital honestly and truly has the most caring professional staff, including nurses doctors and everyone else involved. I’ve been coming to this hospital for the last three years and the doctors and nurses are amazing. They are so sweet and you know you are in good hands. Once you are admitted I posted a bad rating in the emergency department. The emergency department is one of the worst I’ve ever encountered in my 40 years of life. You can read what happened during the check-in process in the ER. It’s just horrible and it does feel like a Third World country emergency department but again once you are admitted, or you have a schedule, these people are seriously the best I’ve ever had.

I moved into the Avalon house about 8 months ago. It has really become a home to me. There is a lot of women in one home but we all manage to get along rather well. The Avalon house has been a safe , supportive, clean environment. We operate similar to the Oxford model in that we hold one another accountable. Anastasia is a hands on housing manager but she gives you the room you need to be an adult and make the decisions for your recovery that you feel are right. If you follow the rules, and prove to her that you’re trustworthy then she affords you that trust and she is understanding. I truly believe that Avalon is one of the main reasons that I’ve been successful in my recovery thus far.
It’s imperative in early recovery to surround one’s self with like minded people and Avalon is absolutely a home that you will find the resources you need to grow and thrive into the person you want to be. I absolutely suggest this home to anyone that is willing to put in the work to live a sober life. It’s all about what we put into it that determines what we get out of it.

I was recently at this hospital for a stress test and echocardiogram. From the reception staff, to the nurses and any ancillary staff I encountered, everyone was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and professional. The nurses and technicians explained all testing before it was started and during testing, as well as giving me a chance to ask questions. I could not have asked for a more positive experience. ER staff gave me compassionate and professional care. Although at full capacity, I was given over and above care. ICU staff: Caylin, Peggy, Casie, Jim, Kathleen and Dr. Parikn were knowledgeable and thorough. I felt confident that I was receiving the best care. Elizabeth from food service was caring and ensured that the tray was within my reach. Housekeeping staff were pleasant and kept the room clean. Kristin from cardiology was patient and very knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and discussed alternative treatment options. Thank you for excellent care.

I did not stay sober after my stint at BTG but I sincerely believe BTG is the best place to get it done. I don’t consider my time/money spent at BTG to be a waste because I am a far more compassionate and virtuous person than I could have been otherwise.Its a vigorously honest program.

My fiance and myself have been in recovery for 5 years now and we made sure we told doctors and so forth. That we were moven last month and the lady in front desk wrote on pink paper I have and said that they would do doxie on the internet for this month so I called savida a couple times in the past week before we ran out of meds we have been on meds for 5 years now both of us .We both will be deadly sick and the lady at the front desk that keeps telling me i cant leave voice mails no where and nobody has and ex.We have been very serious about our recovery to be treated like this .We will go into seziours Luke what the world why can’t nobody return My calls first but then this lady is telling me that I can’t leave messages or anything Someone please help and call me

This subject can be one that either rips loved ones apart or brings them closer together. As I hope for everyone and anyone that people open there minds and hearts up to those who ask for help. We are not bad people just as cancer is a disease so is addiction! I was never warned by my doctor that the medication he was given me would turn my life upside down and when it did my doctor cut me loose. Coming from a family with addiction problems I then knew I had to get help. This treatment center is great compared to others! They help you with EVERYTHING from your addiction to your transportation needs. Be prepared for friends and family to turn their back on you because it will happen. Narrow minded people think this isn’t getting help it’s replacing on addiction with another. If that’s the case then almost everyone in the world are addicts. If you get the flu and take medication for it same thing, you get poison ivy you get medicine for it same thing. Yes I know it’s not 100% exact but hopefully some of you get my point here! Please stop knocking us down when we are doing everything we can to fix the problem. I promise you if you take treatment seriously and friends and family support you and even get involved in your treatment you will find yourself again. You will be a better, stronger and caring person!!!!

I just want to say how great this center is!!! I came from PA to train for my current job and attended this clinic during that time. This clinic has their duck’s in a row and some of the friendliest and most helpful ppl I’ve ever met in my lifetime. Please let the staff know how much they are valued and that they truly make a difference everyday! I wish everyone the best of luck, especially Jacob he is one of a kind 😊. Intake employees were very nice and respectful and attentive to my needs as a patient, day to day staff seems to try for the most part to help patients but don’t really b understand what we day in and day out, one thing I would highly suggest though would be empa by ttwining

I drank everyday for 17 years following my return from service overseas. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive to my needs as well as the others I met in residential treatment. They definitely were able to reach the root of my alcohol addiction and help put forth a plan for my continued success. I am almost 3 months sober and truly haven’t felt better in my life. I believe God put these people in my path to help guide me. Thank you Sagebrush staff. If you do happen to go there, there is a program assistant that is ok at ping pong. Please read the whole review, I know it’s long, but there’s important stuff that really might help you out if you’re thinking about becoming a patient. Always keep in mind however, that you get out of it what you put into it. The counselors there are wonderful, especially Amber. She has advocated for me, she helped me get Medicaid so my medicine is free now which is amazing. She always tells me how proud she is of me and reminds me how much progress I’ve made when I’m starting to feel like I’m screwing up, sometimes you just need to hear that. I know that I can always depend on her. My first counselor was Dan he was wonderful, but I just thought that I would benefit more from having a female counselor. I also know that Ray is wonderful, but any of the counselors would be more than happy to help you if you can’t find yours. The only problems I have with this place are how difficult it is to get them on the phone sometimes, also one of the nurses is kind of rude, I understand that it is a difficult job however. The rest of the nurses are very kind especially April! Also Treva The nursing coordinator is an absolute nightmare. She was rude to me from the second I walked into that building. She for some reason has a personal issue with me and makes it known. That is so unprofessional you’re supposed to keep your opinions outside the door. That kind of stuff will send people back out and then they die. Other than that it’s great! The front desk lady is wonderful, the Director is absolutely wonderful, I enjoy the group Therapy, and if you’re doing the right thing and passing your drug test, you will phase up very quickly there. I’m already to two weeks, whereas at another clinic it probably would’ve taken me A year or even longer to get to that point. There was a time that I never thought I would even get a single take home and I’m already to two weeks! So thank you new river comprehensive treatment center. If it weren’t for you I would probably be dead, not only that but my mental health has improved drastically since I started there. One more person I would like to mention is Diana who does the Medicaid and financial stuff (I think)she is also extremely helpful and kind if you ever need help with anything.

Alcohol treatment is a multi-phased treatment approach to help individuals living in Virginia overcome alcohol use disorder (AUD) and rebuild healthy lives. It begins with a thorough assessment to determine the severity of the symptoms and identify co-occurring mental or physical health issues. If physical dependence is present, the first step is medically supervised detoxification to safely manage withdrawal symptoms and physically stabilize the individual.
Once detox is complete, or if it’s deemed unnecessary, treatment shifts toward addressing the psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction.
