Sandstone has been extremely accommodating to our daughter’s need for php. They went above and beyond for us to be able to get her onsite stating “ we want her to get the care that she needs” Just in one week we have seen positive changes in our daughter. She really enjoys her group and the therapists

They will take away any and all ideas or stigmas you may have had about a rehab facility. Everyone employed there is truly engaged to make your stay wonderful and to help you become a better version of yourself. I imagine most will find that the experience will open you up to more than just kicking an addiction. You will find your inner strength and identity and become the person you were always meant to be.

I had a great experience and this was my 4th treatment center. It’s not a cookie cutter program and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Since I left I’m still involved with the stuff they do in after care and alumni activities which are great ways to stay connected to a lot of people who truly are still putting in the work to stay sober and a lot of us have become close friends and hang out a few times a week. It’s not uptight like a lot of places which is very helpful in early recovery, the music aspect is great even if you don’t play any instruments, and the housing setup is great as well. The rules are pretty simple. No vaping inside (at the center) and you can’t have your phone during group lol pretty reasonable. Otherwise there’s still a sense of normalcy. Highly recommend to anyone who’s ready to make that 1st big step! I was a bit apprehensive at first and couldn’t be more grateful that I did it. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years!

I’ve been going here for 6months and before that I was at the VA. There’s a few differences between them both but most of all I can tell the Care. I have had 2 Counselors which is understandable considering the work load they have. Since the begining I have been happy and impressed how easy they made my transferring. I started just where I left off at the VA.The only thing I don’t agree with or understand is when getting an increase u have to pick up for 3days before getting ur tak homes. I can understand this policy when u a starting out. But it doesn’t make much sense after that. I can also say when there was a problem with my pick up (ther Mistake) my councler fixed and had all my bottles in 30mins. All I can say is If u work the program it works. Thank you

This is the only MAT program clinicnive ever been to but they have been amazing. If you are serious about your recovery they most definitely are going to help you. I’ve had a couple friends go to other clinics and from what was said FCCR is more strict and that’s so important. Especially if you are serious about your recovery and do really want to better yourself and your life. The office staff is amazing there. The nurses are wonderful. I’ve had 3 different counselors due to 2 of them moving on to better their lives, but every counselor I have had has been wonderful. Very helpful. Easy to talk to. Thank you FCCR for being there and helping me better myself and my life. “It works if you work it”

My journey started there. Many great counselors. A couple of them really should find another career, but nobody is perfect. I still believe they do there best. I urge anyone who is in need of help to call. I am very grateful to them. Addiction is fatal when untreated. The good news is early recovery is temporary as well as painful. Thank you

I would like to thank Desiree Garland a kind, patient sonographer at the ER at VHC . She took her time and was patient with me during my test. Ultra sounds on your legs at least for me hurt very badly. But she took the time to press gently and thoughtfully. I was scared to come back as last time I was screaming in pain from the last sonographer so I wanted to point out I had a great experience this time around. Which shows that Desiree is experienced but most importantly cared for her patient/me. So thank you Desire! Also Dr Sverha in the ER was very nice and answered all my questions.

Dear Administrator: Please kindly recognize the outstanding and exemplary service provided by your outpatient lab employee/technician Leslie at the main outpatient lab who has repeatedly provided exceptional service and so accommodating when performing her duties especially since I have special needs. She is so skilled at performing her duties and must be recognized. She should be promoted as the supervisor for the outpatient lab quite frankly. As a regular patron of VHC for many years, I have not seen many employees at the hospital who consistently provide the level of care and service that Leslie demonstrates consistently and skillfully! Give her a shout out!! Rudrendu Sinhamahapatra

    About Alcohol Rehab Programs

Alcohol treatment is a multi-phased treatment approach to help individuals living in Virginia overcome alcohol use disorder (AUD) and rebuild healthy lives. It begins with a thorough assessment to determine the severity of the symptoms and identify co-occurring mental or physical health issues. If physical dependence is present, the first step is medically supervised detoxification to safely manage withdrawal symptoms and physically stabilize the individual.

Once detox is complete, or if it’s deemed unnecessary, treatment shifts toward addressing the psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction. This includes evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), and group or family counseling. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may be prescribed to reduce cravings and the risk of relapse.

Treatment is supported in a variety of settings, including inpatient, intensive outpatient programs, and primary care clinics, depending on clinical needs and lifestyle. Long-term success often depends on continued engagement through relapse prevention strategies, peer support groups, and ongoing therapy.

Effective alcohol treatment recognizes that addiction is a chronic condition and emphasizes personalized, compassionate care that promotes accountability, personal growth, and long-term recovery. This type of treatment can be found throughout Virginia, from coastal recovery by the beach to tranquil retreats nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I’ve been a patient at Affinity Health Center in Norfolk, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the care I’ve received there. From the counselors to the nurses and administrative staff, everyone has treated me with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. One thing that stands out is that they truly put patient care first. Recovery isn’t a one-size-fits-all process, and the staff understands that. They take the time to listen, work with patients individually, and help find solutions when life circumstances make things difficult. Rather than treating patients like a number, they treat them like people. I’ve also appreciated how accommodating and understanding they are. When you’ve demonstrated responsibility and commitment to your recovery, they recognize that and are willing to trust you. That level of respect and flexibility can make a huge difference for people trying to rebuild their lives. Recovery can be challenging, but having a clinic that genuinely cares about its patients makes all the difference. I’m grateful for the support, professionalism, and compassion I’ve experienced at Affinity Health Center, and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking treatment.
