Most times i have to call to get medication refills the staff is nice, lately they have been better than ever. Super helpful, kind and respectful making sure any questions or needs are met to the best of their abilities. I felt my self in crisis mode, made a call to talk to my psychiatrist and the guy who answered told me he would send her a message, a little later in the day he calls me back and said he heard back from her and proceeded to let me know that information. Within the phone call he really made me feel heard and understood without judgement. Which someone who struggles with mental health while trying to maintain a “normal life” appreciates more than you know. There have been times i’ve had to get my prescription refilled and i get anxious making the phone call because there were a couple different staff members that would come across annoyed, & so it would make me feel bad or embarrassed after hanging up, due to how someone communicates through a phone conversation. I have been with ABC for a couple of years now, and over all i’ve had a pleasant experience. I love my psychiatrist, and the relationship that’s formed over the years. She listens to my concerns, has been patient, kind, makes me feel like she gets the hard things life throws our way but also tries to work with me to understand just because she could give me a handful of pills doesn’t means she wants to. Life is hard sometimes but as a community, we need to realize that so are we.

I've been bringing my dad to this VA for the last few months, and after just our first visit, we knew he was in good hands. Every specialist we've seen have been nothing but hands on, attentive, thorough, empathetic, patient and helpful. From Dr.B in oncology, to Tess up in endoscopy, these women are some of the most kind medical professionals I have ever met, and I hope they know their kindness goes a long way and is still thought of well after. I have had so many wonderful interactions with the staff there, there was a nurse who ordered my dad some lunch as he was in recovery after a procedure, which was such a nice thing to do, I didn't catch her name but she might be the charge nurse in endoscopy maybe? Another thing I really liked about this VA is that if you look lost and wandering the halls, there are many friendly faces around to get you pointed in the right direction, and most of the time they'll ask YOU first lol. There was also a younger man up front who helped lead me to the other building over to 114 through the tunnel, he didn't have to, but he did, just over all blown away by the difference of health care compared to the other VA my dad was going to. And with already having seen someone in Pulmonary, Radiation/oncology, Endoscopy, ED department, mental health, Hematology, Chemotherapy, Pain clinic, XRAY, PET SCAN, and MRI, I have nothing but good things to say. Thank you kindly, for everything.

Some of the classes were great! The art therapy was amazing. Some of the staff was great. Juliana deserves a raise!! That girl handled some very difficult people over the weekend. Some of the aids were so kind and fun and helpful. Definitely some not so nice or invested staff. They did great with my food allergies. Overall was a helpful stay for mental health but a few employees that may need to be let go.

I think this place benefits everyone that comes to it. There was this one guy though that kept talking about getting loads all the time. There was another guy that was born a mouse and now is growing into a rat, He smoked weed the whole Time. Made it hard to focus on my recovery. Then he did the perky dance right outta here. Kim is a wonderful staff member along with Karen. The rest of the staff isn’t bad either.

I also want to recognize Tech: Christopher; while I didn’t directly work with him, I witnessed him help multiple patients with their needs, questions & requests; he was immediately proactive in helping patients the moment they needed help with something. Their compassion, professionalism, attentiveness, & willingness to help did not go unnoticed by us patients. There were also several other techs, nurses, & another doctor who were wonderful, although unfortunately I do not remember their names. They treated me with kindness & dignity during a time when that mattered tremendously, & I am genuinely grateful for the care they provided. In the event of a difficult situation, staff and directors are proactive to ensure that the care provided by Aurora was up to standard. I want this review to primarily recognize the people who did make a difference. Their efforts & kindness had a real impact on other patients’ & my recovery; I appreciate them more than they probably realize. Overall, sincere appreciation for the exceptional individuals who helped make a very difficult experience much easier.

I arrived around 9 am to be seen for an ear and sinus infection. I was the only person I saw and was taken in right away. They said I wasn't the first today. Dr. Edward got right to the issue, checked my ear, verified the infection and sent a prescription to Walmart next door. Easy in, easy out. This should almost be done another way hahs. But she was excellent. I did see a notice about surprise bills. Hopefully that doesnt happen as it has elsewhere where doctors are a different group from the providor. Roger's Behavioral Health Brown Deer is amazing. I had a chance to be in another Residential Facility with Roger's Health in Oconomowoc, there is a reason that people from all over the country come here to get better. I came in with a lot of things that needed to help fixing and to better know myself and my mental health. After a little over a month, I am doing so much better and going back home to my family. I am incredibly thankful for stuff here and all that they done for me on my journey to a better me.

I came to Brown Deer adult residential having given up, feeling like I was a lot cause, and no hope that I had a chance or that they could help. They allowed me to not only come get treatment, but they gave me the tools I needed to change my life. I will be the first to admit their jobs are anything but easy, but they do a phenomenal job. I have only ever been in the adult residential side, so I cannot speak on the other units, but the adult residential program absolutely changed my life. They prioritized my safety, comfort, and taught me how to prioritize me. When I think of when I was finally able to turn my life around, Brown Deer will always be a huge part of that. The impact they had on me is truly remarkable. After 6 weeks there and completing the program I can confidently say I have confidence in myself, I love myself, I am proud of myself, I am not a lost cause, and I CAN DO HARD THINGS. I am not the same person I was at admission, not even a little bit. If you are struggling and feel like you are out of options, give this place a shot and be willing to try their advice because even when you don’t want to hear it, it works. Thank you to the team at Brown Deer for giving me the tools to turn my life around. Yall brought the light back into my eyes and I will be forever grateful. p.s. Aliza and Bella were the DREAM TEAM andI am so lucky to have ended up on their caseload 🙏🏻🗣️🤙🏻

I came in broken from PTSD and alcohol and wasn't sure this place could help. They surprised me. Had real therapy that went deep, not just surface stuff. EMDR hit hard but helped me sleep again. Talkin with other vets made me feel less alone. Docs knew what they were doing too. Only thing I’d change is more group time. Still, I walked out stronger than I came in. Real thankful for that.

Came here after struggling with pain meds from a work injury. WCS got me set up on Suboxone, which made a big difference. I appreciated being able to stay in touch with my wife and kids throughout, that really kept me grounded. They also helped me start thinking about getting back to work. Not everything was perfect (wait times could be better) but the staff truly care. It’s a solid place if you're serious about getting clean.

I have good experiences there, my doctor and nurse are very nice (Dr.Baskaran &Nurse Janice) they’re very respectful and continue to provide me great care despite my indescisiveness and constant use of WebMd😆.
