About YWCA Northeast Indiana

YWCA Northeast Indiana is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. YWCA offers several unique programs aimed at helping persons experiencing domestic violence, substance use disorder, and/or sexual violence.

YWCA’s Addiction Recovery Program

YWCA Northeast Indiana’s Addiction Recovery program is a CARF accredited residential program for adult women (18 and older) living with substance use disorder (SUD). Our clients work through a tiered recovery program with the end goal of recovery from substance use disorder and reunifying with their children, family, and friends. “Recovery” is considered ongoing abstinence from drugs or alcohol as well as a commitment to rebuilding one’s life each day and for the years to come.

Upon arrival, clients are assigned a case manager and a therapist who will work with them to create an action plan and set goals. Through intensive, individualized case management and personalized relationships, case managers help clients learn to foster growth in mind, body, and spirit so they can regain confidence in themselves. Clients learn the importance of self-respect and that they are capable of contributing to their community and pursuing recovery. As clients complete curriculum and meet plan criteria, they advance through program levels until they achieve successful graduation.

There is no required number of days or months to complete each phase; each person has their own recovery timeline that is unique to them, and YWCA staff support clients as they move from phase to phase at their own pace.

Staffed by licensed and master-level clinicians, residents can receive an array of services such as: Assessment and treatment, individual therapy, group therapy, marriage and family therapy, music therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), 12-step facilitation, family education and support, alcohol and other drug services (AOD), housing counseling and placement, daily meditation and mindfulness, motivational interviewing, nutrition coaching, skills groups, and yoga and exercise.

Depending on your needs, your care plan could include access to Narcotics Anonymous meetings, connection with resources and social services in the community and cooperation with judicial personnel or a probation officer. One of this program’s best features is that they’ve designed it with family reunification in mind. They can offer additional relevant services to pregnant women and mothers who are looking for ways to reconnect with their families.

Equipping You For A Better Future

Another great feature is that your case manager will work with you to help you find employment or make an employment plan. This approach helps you take responsibility for your future in a very practical way. Some of the YWCA’s other services can also help you further your education and may even be able to offer a scholarship to help you achieve that goal after recovery

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

12 step programs foster participants' long-term sobriety through personal growth rooted in spiritual principles, though religious affiliation is not mandatory. Most 12 step meetings are non-denominational but are based on the belief in a higher power. Participants learn to understand and address the causes of their addiction, accept responsibility for their choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Regular group meetings and mentoring by a self-selected sponsor are required.

Treatments

For long-term recovery from drug addiction, drug rehab in Indiana is often key. This treatment gives individuals who are struggling with a substance use disorder the tools to manage their disorder and achieve long-term sobriety.

Indiana provides substance abuse treatment programs for individuals with substance use disorders. With a range of care levels, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization programs, you'll be able to find the right treatment for you. Programs usually include a substance abuse evaluation, evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and group therapy address substance abuse and enhance coping strategies. By offering personalized treatment plans and a supportive environment, these programs strengthen your ability to maintain your recovery.

If a person has alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism, they experience a desire or physical need to consume alcohol. A person with AUD may try to stop drinking but they are unsuccessful without professional help. Alcohol rehab in Indiana can provide the resources necessary to achieve and maintain recovery. Rehab programs typically involve a combination of medical, behavioral, and social supports to overcome alcohol addiction.

Clinical Services

Qualified therapists in Indiana use a customized treatment approach for individual therapy to address your drug and alcohol addiction treatment. This considers your past history and life circumstances to help you uncover the underlying issues that trigger addictive behavior and manage these factors to support a healthy approach to recovery.

Group therapy provides a unique experience for men and women to encounter a supportive environment where you can share your experiences and gain insight from your peers who understand your struggles. Group therapy improves your journey and helps promote sustainable recovery.

The goal of family therapy in Indiana is to empower family members to effectively support their loved one's recovery. Therapists work with family members to develop the skills needed to manage stress and resolve conflicts successfully. This fosters a positive environment that is conducive to long term sobriety.

In couples therapy, you and your partner work with a psychologist to identify challenges in the relationship and what changes need to be made. You'll work on listening, communicating, and navigating those changes in healthy ways.

When you participate in cognitive behavioral therapy in Indiana, you'll learn to recognize distorted thinking that has led to substance use. Your therapist will help you establish new patterns of thinking and healthy ways to cope with challenges that don't involve substance use.

Individual dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) takes place in weekly, 60 minute sessions. You'll have homework to do, such as keeping a diary to track your emotions and actions. You'll also attend group sessions, which are intended to be skills practicing sessions. DBT in Indiana typically lasts six months to a year.

present & great staff

Group sessions helped so much, I didn’t feel alone. Staff was chill but super present the whole time. I wish there were more young people in my group. Still, it really helped me reset and refocus on school and my health.
