About 5years ago I went here and didn't have the greatest experience..but today I had to visit the Albion office for an appointment for my daughter. And they have come up a long way from my bad experience 5 years ago. The staff was so friendly and helpful even had a couple good laughs. So thank you.

I have been going to this facility for many years. I honestly don't know what I would do without them (front desk & NP)! I have taken meds since 1990 so been a few places. Just be upfront and follow through!

Definitely better than Bowen methadone clinic, there you’re just a number. At BHG they make you feel like an actual person and they get to know you and remember you. I recently got discharged from a 4-day stay here. From the minute I was admitted I was told what was going on and questions were most certainly welcomed. I got a tour of the unit and my bedroom and was introduced to my roommate right away. I have a gluten and lactose intolerance, and the staff sat down and asked what I would like to eat and accommodated my needs. The food is great and there's plenty of options. Anytime you need something you can walk over to the nurse's station and they'll be able to help you. My nurses and the techs and the doctor were exceptional! I especially want to thank Katey, the group organizer. She and I painted and sat and talked and she said she really wanted to be a part of my healing journey and found material for our groups to help me out. I enjoyed the relaxed schedule where groups are in the morning and early afternoon and if they don't fit your needs you don't have to attend. I was able to take naps when I was tired or feeling unwell, and one night they let me sleep on the couch because I felt more comfortable doing so. I was also able to take showers at my request and recieve fresh scrubs, socks, and undergarments daily. You can also take in a phone call list and call your friends and family any time you'd like. I can't express how good this place is, and how amazing it is that I got in when they only have 7 beds at the moment. I had a client of my nonprofit, LITE, who needed access to a safe place overnight until we could find him a residential recovery program. He'd completed a detox program but we hadn't secured a "bed" for him at this next stop. Jill was welcoming and helpful and we were able to provide our client a comforting, safe space. He is now working through his recovery at the next stop thanks to this facility!

The only reason I gave 2 stars was because of the people who do treat you with dignity and respect. And I will mention them first. The security guards- they are awesome, but they also have jobs to do! They will joke and laugh with you. But if you are to be there by a certain time then 1 minute late is 1 minute late. It is what it is. If they let you through they have to let the next who’s 5 minutes late through. LATE IS LATE. I understand being on home detention you have to call before you leave and sometimes I’ve been the 7th caller waiting for them to answer. I never tried to leave a message cause I didn’t want to give them a reason to violate me. And if it’s morning you can’t control traffic or school buses. Next would be Community Service supervisors, they are great! Mitch is especially understanding but again he has a job to do. And we as the people under supervision got ourselves in trouble, we need to do what we need to, to get out of the trouble. It’s not about how tough you are or someone younger telling you what to do. Get it done and go about your day. People would complain about what we had to do, we aren’t doing this because we are perfect, we are doing this because at some point in life we decided to break the law and these are the consequences. It could be worse. It could always be worse! Plus if your on home detention it’s a chance to get outside. Look at that as a privilege. Lastly, Eric Grimes he is the facilitator to many classes there, but he is nothing short of amazing. Non judgmental, empathetic, and there to help you get through a difficult time in your life. It’s not what they call you, it’s what you answer too.
Now for the rest of them… CASE MANAGEMENT: Horrible! They hate their jobs and it shows. They are quick to hand out some kind of disciplinary action instead of find what will make things better. I was made to attend park center only for park center to tell me it was pointless for me to be there and would not benefit me in anyway. They demand you to attend Blue Jacket regardless if it fits your schedule or not. I being a single mother of 5 kids and two being toddlers and one whom has developmental therapy among other doctors appointments, working a full time or even attending something that’s what their schedule demands is not practical. I was given “homework” from Susan idk how many times, that ultimately had nothing to do with why I was on home detention. And even worse most of the papers said go over or role play with your case manager this or that situation. The number of times that ever happened :0… They throw in your face how much money you owe them, but don’t understand how hard it is for a recent felon to get and obtain a job. Or places that can and willing to hire they don’t approve. But they want their money. When you express your dislikes or have a problem with a certain situation , the answer you get is DEAL WITH IT, YOU KNOW THE ALTERNATE OPTION. FIELD OFFICERS: Good ol knock on my door, and search my home. First off to not be able to have cameras inside your own home is beyond ridiculous. Outside I understand their reasoning for saying no, but inside is only because they don’t want to be recorded dehumanizing or doing stuff they aren’t supposed to be doing. Their jobs are to come and search for illegal or illicit things things in your home that violate community corrections rules. So understand that their job is to FIND something that they can use against you. I’ve been patted down and told they knew I was hiding something and when they found nothing, the lady pushed me in the back when she was done. My toddler dropped his crackers on the floor and the field officer with the dog came in and said it would be a good snack for the dog. And another officer say “I wouldn’t let my dog or anything eat off this floor”. Also had the dog on my bed, which no where in the rules does it say the dog can get on furniture. The same dog that was just outside walking in the grass and pissed on its own foot. If we as the inmates can’t protect ourselves with camera inside

Failure to provide advance cancellation results in policy of non ability to reschedule future appointment. Future appointments must be on a "walk-in" basis, depending on chance of available time openings during certain hours. I spent 3 months at ICFR South Bend. It was the 4th facility I had been at since August 2025. I can honestly say this place was a great experience for me. I came to know the staff and truly believed they had my best interest at heart. Sometimes there were communication issues but for the most part it was a nurturing, supportive environment. There were a few staff members who made my stay special. Facilitators Stephanie, Dr. Steph and Heather as well as Client Care Coordinator Constance were extremely helpful. They were a great resource and a wealth of information. I don't think my experience would have been as positive without them.
I would highly recommend ICFR South Bend for recovery facility.

I don't know what the negative reviews are talking about. Pines has helped WAY more with a family member than Lifeway's or Segue. They even offer group support for family members that are living with patients. I think it all comes down to: you get out of it what you put into it. Nobody can do the work for you. If you keep showing up, do the things to change your reality, and use the tools you're given in therapy - over time things do change for you. I see a common thread that patients are saying they don't help, my family member says the same. He also wants everyone to do everything for him and I'm not sure he actually wants to get better. If you're looking for help with a family member, this is the place. It took years of struggling & living in hell to finally get help with our family member with his resistance. From an outside perspective & someone that has been in therapy for years, even tried lifeway's myself - Pines offers more than acceptional programs. It's worth the drive. It's all up to the patient's to get what they need from themselves ultimately.

Many people give this place negative reviews but that's only because they're struggling with their own personal mental problems. I have been here twice and both times I was treated with love and compassion many of the nurses there are very kind and caring and I even made friends amongst the other patients. Please don't let your own personal struggles allow you to judge this place too harshly. I don't know where I would be without PBH.

Dwight is a really good counselor. he saved my life, he makes you understand what you’re going through a lot better. he helps you and understands you. The nurses were great and the techs were okay too. The food was horrible and the rooms were horrible the blankets and pillows too. The group counseling was great and the groups were a good way too talk too someone. The bad part was the patients there was this one patient that was just horrible he would touch himself in front of us at group counseling and no one would say anything.

First psychiatrist I seen was rude kind of just said I was doing drigs when I wasn't like my pee came back clean nothing in it tried saying I smoked marijuana I don't like marijuana I was addicted to fentanyl I wouldn't go smoke weed I would smoke fetty second off I'm giving a 4 star because the guy I see now is amazing and caring and actually talks to you and listens to you and helps people he's the best person I've ever seen it's sad that August will be his last month because he was truly amazing he helped my wife and me and we would do our appointments together he made our journey to sobriety really easy and really helped us get there.

My experience at the Huntington Bowen center has been great. The staff is helpful and always willing to accommodate me. My son and I both go here.
I'd like to mention the wonderful caregivers who have bettered our lives. Firstly, Erin Hollowell is amazing with children. She's worked with my son and we've had family sessions that have resolved issues that seemed hopeless. She offers realistic advice and provides a plan that can help future issues. I appreciate how well she is able to articulate both side's perspectives and offer valuable feedback without undermining either of us.
Fay Montague is a wonderful doctor who diligently worked to come up with a plan to help our family. It took months to see an improvement but she was persistent and showed our family so much compassion during one of the hardest times of our lives. I went from feeling endless frustration and wanting to give up to feeling hope for the first time in months and finally the results that we prayed for.
Aaron Crump is an amazing therapist. He is so insightful and smart. He is able to reframe my situations in such a way that my perception shifts. Instead of offering pointless validation he challenges me by asking questions that lead me to a better understanding. It's so helpful when I'm feeling stuck in an unhealthy thought cycle and has improved my self esteem so much. I'm more reflective and have more self compassion.
Don't let the other reviews persuade you. Our Bowen center is filled with providers who consistently do their best to improve the lives of their patients. This location is so much better than the ones in the surrounding community. Thank you for all you do.

I dont know why the rating is the way it is, I come here for mental health therapy and I think so far that my therapist is great and I am a very hard man to get along with because of my physical and mental health trauma in my past. My therapist, Brandy, is excellent and listens, and is also very real. I have been with Bowen for many years through Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and now Huntington. I currently live in Indianapolis and travel over two hours one way to come to therapy, this is how good Bowen is in my eyes.
