I love this place depends who you get when it comes to counceling some are better than others there. But I have a lady that has helped me in more ways than one and went beyond her duties there and helps my kids out and me when I need the help and shes so informative and helpful and knows all the resources auburn has to offer I wish more ppl cared about their jobs like sandy does ! These ladies do work. Even against the threat of social repercussions. I loved my time here, although I never hope to be in a situation that gets me close to the edge again. came to Fort Wayne Avenues utterly lost and fundamentally broken. The journey from Indianapolis was the final, agonizing stretch that delivered me to my absolute rock bottom.
The moment I truly needed help, I received it. I remember that phone call in the middle of the night—a promise kept, followed by the immediate, compassionate arrangement of a ride. Standing there in the rain, awaiting an unknown fate, I was filled with dread, yet something shifted upon arrival.
I was instantly greeted not just by staff, but by warm smiles and palpable high vibrations. The entire team was immediately welcoming and understanding. I won't lie; there were many times I considered walking away. But I stayed because of the extraordinary intervention of some of the best staff members I have ever had the privilege of knowing. For the first time, I felt genuinely heard and understood. It was a powerful realization that so many of you were in long-term recovery yourselves, carrying years of clean time and wisdom under your belts.
Thank you, from the deepest part of my heart, for believing in me when I couldn't believe in myself, and for giving me the tools I needed to finally tame my beast.

This was a much better experience than I could ever have anticipated. The staff was very understanding and helpful. They have an alumni program that keeps you connected and informed with meeting and outings and check up on you periodically to make sure you're still doing well. They embrace you with open arms and there's zero judgement. If you're considering a place for treatment or to heal, I highly recommend Avenues.

There are people that care here, both residents and staff. I'm 7 years sober today. Because of grace. In order to overcome many addictions you have to separate. I have been a patient at Bowen for almost 4 years. In those four years I have been seeing Michelle Para and Shannon Walter-Harvey. Both are true assets to the company. From the receptionist, to the medical assistants/nurses to the providers I have always received compassionate care. I’ll admit it hasn’t been perfect, some wait times go over but they are always there.
I have never felt judged or let down while going to Bowen. They have helped me during some of my most unlovable times and saw me through my sobriety and for that I thank you! Mental health is a difficult beast to deal with and takes time and I feel people don’t always realize that.
If you are looking for quality and compassion this is an excellent resource. Thank you for all you do!

Everybody's generally friendly! Sometimes the staff have off days but for the most part they really go above and beyond! Kind of wish you'd get a greeting when you walk in the door or even a wait here sign would be nice. Regardless they've really helped me!

Many people give this place negative reviews but that's only because they're struggling with their own personal mental problems. I have been here twice and both times I was treated with love and compassion many of the nurses there are very kind and caring and I even made friends amongst the other patients. Please don't let your own personal struggles allow you to judge this place too harshly. I don't know where I would be without PBH.

Dwight is a really good counselor. he saved my life, he makes you understand what you’re going through a lot better. he helps you and understands you. The nurses were great and the techs were okay too. The food was horrible and the rooms were horrible the blankets and pillows too. The group counseling was great and the groups were a good way too talk too someone. The bad part was the patients there was this one patient that was just horrible he would touch himself in front of us at group counseling and no one would say anything.

Ive been going here for years and I always, always have a positive experience! Sharron is so kind (a bit intimidating in the beginning, but once you get to know her shes very caring) and is always on top of medications, ready to listen to anything Im struggling with and has never made me feel badly for needing to switch medications (which Ive done several times)! She literally looks at anything and everything to make sure that all the bases are covered on my health. Its very easy to access my information on the online patient portal that they use too. Very happy with them and always reccomend them to friends and family!

The most recent reviews are from years ago so I'd like to talk about the changes that have happened over the years compared to the past reviews.
I've been going here for the last four years now. I've had to change therapists once (with enough warning) and I've had to change case managers twice (also with given warnings) every issue I've ever had had been resolved quickly and efficiently (I am so sorry for getting upset about my meds that one time, omg I still feel guilty)
I've felt very safe with my therapists and they've been a great help in my mental journey

Avenues changed my life. If it was for the program, id be in jail with new charges and wouldnt be clean! The staff, and the facilitators really care, and they love their jobs. UPDATE: I will have 6 months of sobriety under my belt here in 4 days!!! My life has drastically improved and my anxiety and depression is almost non-existent. I no longer have the feeling that things aren't going to be alright and when I face obstacles or any type of struggles I can take them head on without stressing to the point that I need to self medicate in order to feel ok. Although wait times were longer than I expected and a follow up was scheduled pretty far out, I still was pleased with this facility. The registration staff was kind and helpful.
Sean was a fantastic counselor to talk to. He was thorough and you can tell he cared. He creates a welcome and comfortable atmosphere. His recommendations were above and beyond as well.

This place gave me HOPE something I didn’t know about. When I walked into them doors they told me that they were going to LOVE ME UNTIL I LOVED MYSELF & that’s exactly what they did. I am forever grateful for each one of the staff members for helping me & no matter what believing in me. Recovery is not easy either is life. Life happens on life’s terms & alls I know is they gave me the tools, experience, friendships & bond. The staff were patient, kind, funny, respectable and caring. Personally i would have preferred an 8 hour day but then again i am an older female who rather spend my day resting, eating and watching movies! I was quite fond of Marrow even though i am sure i am spelling her name wrong. The other lady who did so much in activity wise was a super encourager. Sorry i dont remember her name. She may have come from Germany but anywhoo Hope House and the dancing staffer who taught a lot about gardening and painting were a great inspiration. Keep up the good work. Hope House, YOU ROCK!!!

I recently got discharged from a 4-day stay here. From the minute I was admitted I was told what was going on and questions were most certainly welcomed. I got a tour of the unit and my bedroom and was introduced to my roommate right away. I have a gluten and lactose intolerance, and the staff sat down and asked what I would like to eat and accommodated my needs. The food is great and there's plenty of options. Anytime you need something you can walk over to the nurse's station and they'll be able to help you. My nurses and the techs and the doctor were exceptional! I especially want to thank Katey, the group organizer. She and I painted and sat and talked and she said she really wanted to be a part of my healing journey and found material for our groups to help me out. I enjoyed the relaxed schedule where groups are in the morning and early afternoon and if they don't fit your needs you don't have to attend. I was able to take naps when I was tired or feeling unwell, and one night they let me sleep on the couch because I felt more comfortable doing so. I was also able to take showers at my request and recieve fresh scrubs, socks, and undergarments daily. You can also take in a phone call list and call your friends and family any time you'd like. I can't express how good this place is, and how amazing it is that I got in when they only have 7 beds at the moment. I had a client of my nonprofit, LITE, who needed access to a safe place overnight until we could find him a residential recovery program. He'd completed a detox program but we hadn't secured a "bed" for him at this next stop. Jill was welcoming and helpful and we were able to provide our client a comforting, safe space. He is now working through his recovery at the next stop thanks to this facility!
