I would be so much worse off but the ACT TEAM has been bringing me meds every other day to prevent another suicide attempt and with their help I have hope of not being homeless and although I am extremely depressed because of my situation, the meds are really helping my schizophrenic symptoms. I'm still many layers beneath depression due to the reality I woke up to but the Act adventures and getting out with people makes me feel human again.and I am looking forward to trying clubhouse

It was a great place when I was a resident but the aftercare system is a joke I have not heard from my after care advocate is a while now and when you are there they drill the fact that you can call if you need help or guidance from a staff member but they have been not awensering the phone and I’ve been calling everyday for about a month and on one occasion I do not know who it was but somebody did awenser the phone and I told them my name and they laughed and hung up. Very good place while you are sleeping in their beds and earning them money but as soon as you get discharge you are a joke. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

I used to be an inpatient at Borgess 1 North, and the unit was alright. If you complied with medications, group, and individual therapy, things did seem to get a lot easier. In order for inpatient care to really make a strong impact, I feel like the person being treated needs to want to better themselves. Other than that, the adolescent unit really made a positive change in my life.

I have years of experience with psychiatric care, inpatient all the way down to outpatient. I have traumatic experiences that make trusting the care providers knowledge and experience hard. Within the first couple hours of admission, I noticed that the environment was full of attention and empathy. Not only do the staff ask questions instead of “fixing,” the patients in the facility seemed motivated to change and grow, even if it was hard to believe in a better future. It was easy to start participating in groups, because everyone was comfortable sharing how they really feel and think, without filtering it for the sake of triggering others. My viewpoint is that triggers are unavoidable, so exposure while in a safe environment helps me desensitize. There was an incident with a more severe patient on the unit who did give me flashbacks. But instead of hiding my distress, I allowed a nurse to talk me through it. Within 20 minutes, I felt relaxed and back in reality. Not every staff member was amazing, but the ratio of people who treated us well vs. those who unknowingly didn’t is better than many other places I’ve been. If you’re afraid to ask for help, you should be, but not because of fear from the treatment center itself. It’s a big deal to give yourself another chance. Arrowhead took my fear of asking for help and made it feel worthwhile. Thank you :)

For all the bad publicity you see in the news, you wouldn't be able to tell by visiting this location. I've been using them for 6.5 years. Urgent care is faster than local walk-in clinics OR the hospital, and the staff has always been caring and attentive. The VA is a great benefit for veterans.

This place is an absolute joke, my wife has had 4 appointments at this location and anytime we go there they have no record of the appointment then it gets pushed back a other month or two for us to get back in and same results 4 times over have spoken to supervisors who have stated they have made the appointment for us including giving us a reminder card with still no appointment information within unison system. I would not recommend this place for type of mental health it's a money/insurance grab with no true help in sight.
