I am very pleased with the care I am receiving at PBH in Decatur. I went to another facility in my area and felt like I was a experiment because they couldn’t get my medications right. The last counselor that I had their seemed like she didn’t have much experience with adult problems. My counselor here at PBH not only is listening to the train wreck my life has become, but she’s giving me the tools to get things back on track. Highly, highly recommend!!! And the NP actually know what she is doing and let’s me make decision about my care. It’s nice to know that my voice is not only being heard but respected.

I moved here from out of state 3 years ago and had been recieving the same medication for my anxiety and panic attacks for over 20 years. This woman refuses to give me the medicine that I've had continually for all those years. She OUT RIGHT LIED to me about this medication. She said it is Not used for Long term care... even tho i was perscribed it for 20+ years. I have been using them with out asking for increased dosage or amounts. Now, I have become her testing project. How can refusing a patient a medication that Works be how someone conducts their practice. I have gone in 3 times over a 2.5 year period begging to be put back on my regular regimen and have been refused. I would not recommend her to Anyone. I feel absolutely ignored by her and do not trust a word that she says, after all she LIED to my face.

Variety of mental health services available on outpatient basis. 24 hour advance notification required for appointments unable to be attended by consumer. Failure to provide advance cancellation results in policy of non ability to reschedule future appointment. Future appointments must be on a "walk-in" basis, depending on chance of available time openings during certain hours. It is very important and necessary to make every effort to keep or cancel scheduled appointments in advance. Especially known unable to attend or have no intention to keep the scheduled appointment. There are normally consumers waiting or needing appointments cancelled in advance. Fees depend on income and sliding scale. Medicare and Indiana Medicaid accepted, also private insurance accepted with prior arrangement. Psychiatric Outpatient provider available for medication needs weekly when necessary at this location when possible.
Nursing staff was very concerned with my mental and physical needs and helped take care of me. The awareness of my addiction is much more clear now I was given many tools to work with in my days of recovery. All of the staff have helped me on my journey!!

Avenues is a place that I would happily 😊 recommend to any I ne who is looking to get and stay sober. The staff is amazing, Samantha, Bobby, Kyla, Julia, Tim, Teresa and Madison will help teach you the skills needed to do the shadow work to help you understand your addiction. Lisa and Tim will help you get to your next step after Avenues. Medical and the techs like Z, Dawn, Lopez, Melissa and so many more will help you day to day in getting and staying acclimated. Even the cleaning staff and Lorenzo at the front desk will take time to speak to you if you're having issues or just a rough day.

I came to Avenues Recovery Rehab after dealing with multiple addictions i struggled for 10 years trying to find the right way to pick up the pieces in my life I got sober on October 28th 2025 I had already been to several half way houses and avenues in Fort Wayne a few times before but was never freed from mental illness and the struggle of anxiety or the urge to want to use I couldn't find the strength to say the words unmanageable that that was how my life had become I'm so thankful for avenues recovery and will never forget the effort your staff and therapists and case managers put in to help get you through and into recovery mode like you did to my life
Definitely better than Bowen methadone clinic, there you’re just a number. At BHG they make you feel like an actual person and they get to know you and remember you. They also actually care about your recovery and do everything they can to help you stay sober. You have so much support here. I’m glad to have found this place and plan on staying here. Thanks BHG!

I learned from Deanna and many others why are they all gown..that was family..many influences weren't helpful but most was in my life around good people with healthy teachings and skills to cope and manage life..I been trying to get back in hope it is still a blessing to the lost and broken. Alot of b a d people with agendas walk thru them doors I have witnessed but I listened to the skills triggers and teachings and that help goes along way that last a life time ..support groups are needed it is nearly impossible to do it alone

It is so excellent now, they have the best staff that you can imagine, they have a ex military medic as a doctor, this guy is as good as they can get , the staff will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and like a family, they run 4 classes a day all designed to give you the tools to remain sober. I just got out and wanted a bottle of whiskey, I said nope...

I've been there a few times for med adjustment and other mental health things and they are very caring people there Deana Redd Dr Tom and Jen everyone else down to the kitchen staff go out of the way to get you the best possible care they can great resources available if you are serious about improving your life I recommend this place thank you all for your support and kindness

I had Paige as my therapist and she was amazing. Very easy to talk to and didnt force the direction of the topics. Our conversations would flow smoothly and she could steer me toward what was really bothering me. I dont know if I would be here today without her.

I have been working with Grant for a while, and he is the best I have had in the many years of getting mental health help, Sean and Trey have been helpful with getting my appointments scheduled, I have never had to "wait months" to get an appointment set with Grant.

Stayed here for about a month in December 2023. Terrific people from the two captains who ran this place on down. Unfortunately, I don't remember many of their names. Shoutout to Dr. Katrina Pace, an outstanding woman with a strong faith. Was so blessed to able to stay here.

There are people that care here, both residents and staff. I'm 7 years sober today. Because of grace. In order to overcome many addictions you have to separate. Salvation Army allows you that and finding self worth in work. Not many places offer that. Above all its centered on truth. CHRIST. I give it 5 out 5 stars. Quinn Dieterle

I love the friendly staff. They're always in a good mood, they make me feel welcomed, and they handle any issues that I may have. They also have a barista that makes the best coffee ever! Overall I always have a great experience when I visit.
So far in my experience everything has been fantastic. The entire vibe is great and safe, the front desk staff are angels, and both my psychiatrist (Leah Sands) and therapist (Amber Gibson) have been very respectful, intelligent, and very good listeners. I can't wait to continue my healing journey.

I have been a patient at Bowen for almost 4 years. In those four years I have been seeing Michelle Para and Shannon Walter-Harvey. Both are true assets to the company. From the receptionist, to the medical assistants/nurses to the providers I have always received compassionate care. I’ll admit it hasn’t been perfect, some wait times go over but they are always there.
I have never felt judged or let down while going to Bowen. They have helped me during some of my most unlovable times and saw me through my sobriety and for that I thank you! Mental health is a difficult beast to deal with and takes time and I feel people don’t always realize that.
If you are looking for quality and compassion this is an excellent resource. Thank you for all you do!

Everybody's generally friendly! Sometimes the staff have off days but for the most part they really go above and beyond! Kind of wish you'd get a greeting when you walk in the door or even a wait here sign would be nice. Regardless they've really helped me!

I went here for a year at a young age of 12. The Marsh Foundation help me in so so many areas in my life. I was 7-8 grade, and I chose to repeat the 8th grade here and get caught up in school. I was at least 3 years behind in almost every subject. My school back home just kept passing me. Best thing I could have done for myself. I learned table educate, better in school, worked in the fields potatoes, tomatoes, worked in the Cannery too. Miss Lupe, and Miss Helene I remember. Great, Godly women. Getting our allowance and walk up town with our money we earned. Stop & Shop I always went there. Now seeing it through adult eyes, I appreciate it a lot more. Thank you, Theresa Taschler
Many people give this place negative reviews but that's only because they're struggling with their own personal mental problems. I have been here twice and both times I was treated with love and compassion many of the nurses there are very kind and caring and I even made friends amongst the other patients. Please don't let your own personal struggles allow you to judge this place too harshly. I don't know where I would be without PBH.

Dwight is a really good counselor. he saved my life, he makes you understand what you’re going through a lot better. he helps you and understands you. The nurses were great and the techs were okay too. The food was horrible and the rooms were horrible the blankets and pillows too. The group counseling was great and the groups were a good way too talk too someone. The bad part was the patients there was this one patient that was just horrible he would touch himself in front of us at group counseling and no one would say anything.

At first, I hated it. But slowly I gained a new perspective about being here. I ended with a newfound perspective, better mental health, a sick haircut. I would genuinely support anyone’s decision in coming here for mental health treatment, the cabins are wonderful, the groups were great (could’ve been better sometimes), and the food genuinely isn’t that bad.

The Ohio Recovery Center is truly a remarkable and welcoming place. I travel to various recovery centers giving presentations, and this one stood out for its warmth and kindness. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home, which I deeply appreciated.
A special shoutout to Ashley Staley, the treatment advocate and alumni liaison, who greeted me with open arms and introduced me to the incredible team there. Her hospitality and genuine passion for helping others were inspiring.
Kudos to the entire staff at the Ohio Recovery Center for creating such a positive and supportive environment. It's clear they truly care about the people they serve, and I was honored to experience it firsthand. Highly recommend!

I am a patient here and i love it so far, my therapist is nice and very helpful with setting goals. The staff at the front are also very polite as long as your nice to them and very willing to help if you treat them with respect. For families or friends who want their loved ones to come here, please remember that people who arent patients tend to get mad over things they cant understand, like hippa laws or mental illnesses they dont have. So far, therapy has been great for me here!
The staff here are very nice, but they never answer the phone. In person they are super helpful and understanding, but it seems like they're very understaffed.

Ive been going here for years and I always, always have a positive experience! Sharron is so kind (a bit intimidating in the beginning, but once you get to know her shes very caring) and is always on top of medications, ready to listen to anything Im struggling with and has never made me feel badly for needing to switch medications (which Ive done several times)! She literally looks at anything and everything to make sure that all the bases are covered on my health. Its very easy to access my information on the online patient portal that they use too. Very happy with them and always reccomend them to friends and family!

Thanks to this place I came to find myself and I had never been so happy to breathe different air, an air of freedom and understanding, an air where I can take responsibility for my actions. Thanks to these counselors my life changed radically.
Although wait times were longer than I expected and a follow up was scheduled pretty far out, I still was pleased with this facility. The registration staff was kind and helpful.
Sean was a fantastic counselor to talk to. He was thorough and you can tell he cared. He creates a welcome and comfortable atmosphere. His recommendations were above and beyond as well.

I took the time to read some of the reviews and decided that I would leave my own. Kay is a wonderful person, compassionate and understanding. Yes she can be vary strong and opinionated. I will say that she told me a truth I wasn’t willing to accept, she pointed out the obvious thar I couldn’t see. Self can’t see self when I am caught up into what I want out of life ( relationships money social status) I like to use the term, my wiener, my wallet, my place in the pack. Whenever my basic instinct are harmed or threatened, I react poorly. I went into Kay’s office over 20 years ago, trying to fix relationship prior to getting married thank God I never married that woman. I also had alcoholism and addiction that I really didn’t recognize. Thanks to case direction. I found my way to a 12 step program which saved my life, improved my relationships, and escalated my career path. This woman treated me when I didn’t have the money for treatment. She wrote it off. She basically sat down with me on her own dime to help me and she didn’t even know me really. If you don’t know what that is, it’s called compassion, caring, and giving pretty much the opposite of some of the poor reviews. I’ve read. I’m not on here to defend her. I’m on here to say that if this is where God has brought you to, then maybe you should listen because you never know who’s carrying in the message you need to hear. I am forever grateful to wise choices and the effort she put into my life when I couldn’t even pay for those efforts that’s called being a selfless (unselfish) altruistic individual. If you’re in a toxic relationship, she’s gonna let you know that because you’re not paying her to lie to you and cuddle you you’re paying her to give you a truth. You’re not willing to see and that is true for any good counselor therapist psychiatrist. Highly recommend wise choices because of the woman she is, not afraid to hurt your feelings. And if you’re seeking help, obviously that means you’re not able to see the truth in your life and you’re asking someone else to help you. So whatever choice you make whether it’s her or some other therapist, may God bless your path and help you see the truth. I will tell you that I haven’t spoken to Kay in quite a long time but every time I see her, it makes my heart happy. She didn’t pay me to leave this review nor am I related to her or her business in anyway, I’m just a recovering alcoholic who’s living life today because Kay took the time to help me and for that I am forever grateful

Everyone was so awesome to me. Nice people that work here. I had terrible anxiety when i first started going there. But they were kind and caring to me. The guards were always pleasant to me.
I'm so happy there was a place like the Women's Bureau for me to turn to in my time in need. All of the staff show that they really care and are super friendly.

Avenues provided me with the treatment I desperately needed without even knowing I needed it. I learned so much about the disease of addiction, myself, others, recovery, and healthy coping skills to help me further my journey. Miss Gina, Heather, LaToya, Melissa, Jenna, Kyla, Sunny, and LaToya are AMAZING! Bobby and Lopez are also AMAZING. Miss Gina made me feel loved and safe from day 1. Everyone there made me feel loved and safe. They also fostered an environment which encouraged all female clients to support and lift one another up at all times. It was a healthy and loving and healing experience; and I am so very thankful.
