I am a patient here and i love it so far, my therapist is nice and very helpful with setting goals. The staff at the front are also very polite as long as your nice to them and very willing to help if you treat them with respect. For families or friends who want their loved ones to come here, please remember that people who arent patients tend to get mad over things they cant understand, like hippa laws or mental illnesses they dont have. So far, therapy has been great for me here!

Before Hickory I’ve never experienced any sort of rehabilitation. In ANY aspect of my life. I was WRECKED. So my expectations were very “surfaced”. The tools and practices the staff, therapists, BHT’s and even the front desk and office staff provide go beyond just the addiction part. Even when some of us are at our absolute lowest and have lost sight of everything and everyone else…. It’s impossible, even then to lose sight of someone making us feel GENUINELY cared about. I’ll always remember the time we spent together Hickory!!! All 3 times of them.

With the “compassionate care, and uncommon sense they claim, I am not feeling it at all. I had a hard time getting times and days mixed up for my appointment. I have asked them to send reminders but I don’t get any. They now scheduled me almost three weeks out. The scheduler in Elkhart is very rude and nasty. It’s like she is making me pay for missing appts. I have been on the same meds for 40 yrs. (This is all happening as I switch facilities due to a recent move). I have been going through withdrawal and been horribly sick. I have gone through this uncompassionate journey for years. Always the guinea pig, never the patient who suffers and needs help. No one will see me for meds until the 21st. They should have an emergency plan for people who are honestly missing appts that are this detrimental. My meds include 2 controls and I take about 6 pillls in the morning and two at night. This is hell! Shame on you Oaklawn…I will never forget this!!

I just completed the 28 day program and the staff and everyone there were great people and the food was also very good they are going through allot of remodeling and things we're a little hectic which is understandable but other than that it was a life changing experience

This is simply for Zach(Zack?), the guy at front desk who took my call. I honestly was terrified to make this call, and after maybe 5-10 minutes with him on the phone, I was assured I was doing the right thing. This role of his at the front desk I’m afraid is not given enough credit. He helped me understand in a good way, and not to scare me away.

If they took my insurance which covers everything, it would def be a better experience. However the choice between using and taking my medicine is clear to me and worth the money in the end. However it is a program that you have to work for yourself. No one can do it for you.

Let me just say I was a patient at Medmark for years and above everything no matter what because they open at 4:45 AM says it all. They generally want to meet everyday people’s needs to live a normal life.In and out the door before 5am to do what you need to do w your life. Try and find another clinic that does that for you. You won’t. Working men and women this your clinic. Just no weed. Sorry.

I do not typically do these reviews however I felt very strongly I needed to. I have been in the program for over 7 years. The program honestly saved my life after trying several other things. My addiction became like most had back problems and my doctors were very free to prescribe the opioids and benzodiazepines. Xanax was actually the worst for me hospitalized for over 10 days due to all the seizures. Anyways the nurses Yolanda Jackie Val are sweethearts and have never judged me once. Yolanda is the one person who always tells me she is proud of me I don’t even hear that from family. Kim who runs front desk is also great. In my experience I have had around 6 counselors and sorry to say this is the downfall here. I don’t know if they are overworked micromanaged or just don’t care but I have had to go elsewhere for my counseling. I have promise for my new counselor April who is new to this location. Since starting she has been on top on my case not letting anything slide. She gets accomplished what the 5 others took months to do and I appreciate that. Non judgmental follow-up and just caring she accomplishes where most can’t and this is what keeps me clean and alive and I thank her for that more than I can say. Doctor is a different story for a different day I will just say to the women ask that a third person be in the room. That’s all!

Dawn Nowak was caring and compassionate helped me when I needed treatment she was easy to talk to didn't judge my situation and made me feel better about myself. I highly recommend her she is from crisis mobile unit. She really cares client centered.

My doctor and I came up with an approach to fix my problem I had one medication that worked in the past and that's what I was looking for they decided to give me three different medications and turn of this medication and every time they tried new ones they don't work.but every 2 weeks they rape my insurance and not once in 6 months did have helped me. This why people start looking self meditation as a better option. I'm not there yet but I'm tired of wasting my time look somewhere else all they push is SSRI that make you sick everytime u take 1. They also take about 4 weeks to work. Look elsewhere they are nice people but they won't help you look elsewhere
