This place is a great place to go if you need help with substance abuse or just mental health as well. When I went, I unfortunately didn’t take it very seriously but the people that did take it seriously have been very successful. Kyler was a great mentor while I was there, and he along with the other techs all seem very genuine and honest and willing to help in anyway they can. I am extremely grateful for this place, as well as Kyler especially. I don’t think I would be where I am today without him as a mentor.

My daughter is now 5 years old, she s been seeing Jill for the last 1.5 year. To say that she s one of the best is an understatement. I personally have been in therapy for anxiety and there s no one who compares to her. My daughter went through something very devastating & Jill has been our light through it. If you re in need of a therapist, this is definitely the place for you! Erin & Darla, the receptionist are just as wonderful. My little girl loves all 3 of these individuals and looks forward to going everytime. Such a welcoming & passionate environment. Although this has been a very difficult thing for my family, Brighter Tomorrows is what gives us hope.

Oaklawn Psychiatric Center's South Bend, Indiana location offers outpatient alcohol and substance use disorder treatment as well as a full range of mental health services for adolescents and adults. Oaklawn offers open access clinics Monday through Friday where individuals can begin the treatment process without an appointment. During this sessio
A very good place to receive low-cost mental healthcare. If you need help, I can honestly urge you to give them a chance. You deserve the chance.I'm pleased to say that there has been many good changes at Oaklawn. I've been going here off and on in the 40+ years since I was in high school (back when it was known as Madison Center), and 99% of the psychiatrists and counselors have always been very good. Though they are not immune from their own confirmation bias. Unfortunately, even though I like most of them, frontline staff has been in the past unsympathetic and cruel. When you're mentally ill, specifically having Major Depressive Disorder, doing anything at all can seem like an impossible task. Just getting out of bed can be terrifying and seem to have no point. And after you had to fight yourself and the world to get there, being required to fight for yourself and the respect everyone deserves, in a place where they're supposed to be there to help people with mental illnesses, is really not just inappropriate but unforgivable. Fortunately, management is approachable, and will listen. At least they have to me, and have thanked me for bringing certain issues to their attention. Even writing me a letter a week or so after we spoke.I don't work there, and I only know the things that I've seen and experienced firsthand, but it seems like a much friendlier place to work, less sterile. Which I'm sure positively affects the frontline staffs attitudes. And though frontline staff can seem clickish, and move to defend themselves as a group when one is criticized by a patient, say by gaslighting that patient, management is aware that that is inappropriate. In the 5 years since my previous review, I only recall one single negative experience.================Older Review from 2020:A decent place for low cost psychiatric care. But the front desk staff in the Physicians floor can be extraordinary rude and unsympathetic. Especially if you mention any displeasure with Oaklawn's rules, they seem to take it as a personal insult, and really need to get a job outside of psychiatric care, because they are not suited for it. They are also discouraging when you come to make an appointment, or pick up patient assistance medications, Etc. They often don't know what they're talking about, so don't let them discourage you from what you're trying to do and insist that they pass on messages to the people and doctors you are trying to contact.

I Absolutely love and Appreciate this place for everything and Every single person they help every day. But You can only help someone as long as they want to help themselves. I am a huge Advocate for this place and all the resources it has to offer. And if you don't like this place. That's okay you don't have to go. But just know. They will be right there to help when you finally realize. Hey maybe I am the common denominator in all my problems. Oaklawn is amazing & they do help with all kinds of things. But they don't just hand it out. You gotta show them you want to help yourself. They have been my biggest support for more than 10 years now. And In my life for 15+. Thank you, Oaklawn & Every single person that has worked, Does work, is working, and will work there. Because every one of you are amazing and blessed.

Boca Recovery was my saving grace. I was given the ultimatum that if couldn’t get clean from alcohol and marijuana, then I would be removed from my children’s lives and have no chance of getting custody back. As an addict I just didn’t see me able to do this alone. I Google searched top rehabs in Oklahoma, and came across Boca Recovery. When I spoke to a recruiter they informed me that the facility was not in Oklahoma, but he told me not to panic. If I was ready, then all I had to worry about was making sure I was going to board on my scheduled flight. It seemed too good to be true, but sure enough they delivered and made sure I made it there safely. As soon as I stepped foot into the facility the staff treated me with the best care. Not only that, but the facility was very well maintained. You’re seen by a nurse the first day, and they set you up with everything you’ll need for the detox process. All therapist and case managers work together to build the best treatment plan that suits the patient/client. Not to mention the food they provide is amazing! Thanks to Boca recovery I have passed every UA since I’ve been out, and am able to be involved in my children’s lives again. Before arriving to Boca I didn’t see any of this being possible. Highly recommend to anyone struggling with addiction!

BOCA saved my life. It offered me safety, stability, and daily expectations that I needed desperately. From the first day of entering the program the techs were welcoming, understanding, and supportive which eased my anxiety and allowed me to relax. The clinical staff I worked with is amazing and they helped me begin to understand why I needed to be there and pushed me to see that I also deserved happiness and peace of mind. The community that was created during my stay is one that is with me for life. Lifelong friendships have been created and we stay in touch to this day which has been critical for my sense of belonging. Thank you to BOCA in the city of Bloomington, Indiana; you are the starting point to my path of recovery. 81 days and counting.

As of this writing I have a years experience with this location and program so will try and clarify things a bit. An important thing to understand is that each house is independent and ran by the current residents under guidelines set forth by its area chapter which in turn is governed by the state chapter then national program. Each house is run democratically by its residents with a persons power being in their vote. I feel most of the negative reviews I've heard are from those who relapsed or who routinely or egregiously violated rules and were kicked out. The only violations that allow for immediate expulsion are relapse, violence, or those of a potentially criminal nature. This program is not a good fit for everyone as it is more of a peer supported independent living type situation. It is not as rigidly governed as many halfway houses and is better suited for those comfortable in recovery and capable of living independently but still desiring some structure and guidance. As for Emyla specifically I would say it is a great location. It is near downtown with Leeper Park and the river nearly next door. The residents tend to be easy going and get along well. The house is big with 3 full baths, 3 kitchens, and 2 living rooms. It is worth looking into the place to see if it is for you but remember it is not for everyone.

My experience at choices was the best thing I had ever experienced in my life, MS.RACHAEL always had time for me to vent, cry, or just have a normal conversation, not to mention laughter. She is just an ANGEL ON EARTH, just as MS MONICA AND MS. KENZIE, these three LADIES changed my LIFE FOREVER. Ii was a lost soul just wondering around here on earth but they cared enough to show me how, when, why, and where I should be going in life and because of these 3 ANGELS I now own a 2 story log cabin in the woods in TN. , I work for the county HWY DEPARTMENT as an equipment operator and I have taken my life back because of THEIR BELIEF IN ME. if I went to every rehab center in the world I would have never found what I did with the WHOLE STAFF AT CHOICES, LOVE THEM FOREVER, AND THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ALL I CAN BE!! Staff goes out of their way to respond to parent concerns quickly and thoroughly. Having a child in a residential treatment facility is stressful for the entire family, and they were able to arrange a time to speak with me and allay my worries.I would like to see more information in their parent handbook as to what the residents daily routine looks like, the rules and the consequences. This would go a long way in easing parents concerns.

I recently got discharged from a 4-day stay here. From the minute I was admitted I was told what was going on and questions were most certainly welcomed. I got a tour of the unit and my bedroom and was introduced to my roommate right away. I have a gluten and lactose intolerance, and the staff sat down and asked what I would like to eat and accommodated my needs. The food is great and there's plenty of options. Anytime you need something you can walk over to the nurse's station and they'll be able to help you. My nurses and the techs and the doctor were exceptional! I especially want to thank Katey, the group organizer. She and I painted and sat and talked and she said she really wanted to be a part of my healing journey and found material for our groups to help me out. I enjoyed the relaxed schedule where groups are in the morning and early afternoon and if they don't fit your needs you don't have to attend. I was able to take naps when I was tired or feeling unwell, and one night they let me sleep on the couch because I felt more comfortable doing so. I was also able to take showers at my request and recieve fresh scrubs, socks, and undergarments daily. You can also take in a phone call list and call your friends and family any time you'd like. I can't express how good this place is, and how amazing it is that I got in when they only have 7 beds at the moment. If you're looking for help for you or someone else and the person needing help is 18 or older, please go here! It's worth the drive to get the help you need!

I had a client of my nonprofit, LITE, who needed access to a safe place overnight until we could find him a residential recovery program. He'd completed a detox program but we hadn't secured a "bed" for him at this next stop. Jill was welcoming and helpful and we were able to provide our client a comforting, safe space. He is now working through his recovery at the next stop thanks to this facility!

If your children have mental or behavioral problems, then Midwest Center for Youth and Families may be what they need to get back on their feet. It’s a residential center in Kouts, Indiana. They help girls ages 10-18 and boys from 12-18. If your income isn’t that high, they do accept Indiana Medicaid. If your children have mental or behavioral
i ve always said i was gonna write a big review when i got out, yet i never did. although this place didn t make me perfect i m still learning much more about myself and my mental health. i had a good experience although i wasn t the best when i first came in. i was a total mess, i was struggling with family problems and finding myself and so much more. my parents sent me to an inpatient to send me to a residential since i ve been to soooooo many inpatients before all this. one thing i learned about the difference is that inpatients are there for immediate care and keep u safe, but residentials help u fix yourself and help u learn skills to beat those mental blocks. i first came in and i was so sad i would cry a lot since i get easily homesick. but then i saw my friend from a city i often go to and i was all good. we did a lot of bad things and eventually we fought eachother. this made me realize how bad of a person i am. i started becoming better since then and i messed up a few times but then i finally got a pass since it was the holidays (christmas) and i finally got to see my family and i was so happy. i messed up still but its about progress not perfection! i then worked on my relationship with my mom and i finally forgave her and she changed. i was also leveling up at that time and it was crazy to say i was on red for a little over a month, but i was so focused on studying my dbt skills and it worked. dbt (dialectical behavioural therapy) is pretty effective if u ask me. if u can use your skills effectively, you my friend will be able to use those skills in an everyday basis. cool fact for dbt, if you have ever helped yourself positively to calm yourself down, positively stop an argument, etc then you have probably used dbt without even realizing it! i know many people have their experiences and stories but the help u need is all dependent on you and you guys cannot blame a facility for doing their jobs. i get they can be strict but this fixes you to be less stubborn and if you use your skills you can handle their strictness and learn from it. something i can t understand is that when people come to facilities and say they don t need the help. it doesn t make sense, you aren t sent there without a reason and if you were sent there with a reason and u still claim you don t need help, you need to think and take accountability. that is like driving a 50 year old car that s on the brink of breaking and someone asks to help and you say you don t want it. as a gen z we have a word for it, delusional/delulu. for everybody who s made a bad review and has negativity towards this place i just wish to understand why you guys can t take accountability. i came in thinking i didn t need help and ever since i got out as dbt advisor and level blue, i realized where i was wrong and wanted to fix it. please i wanna advocate for the people who struggle with mental issues if you guys ever wanna talk, email me. thank you to all the workers. Earl and Teacher Wendy get my special shout out since i love them so much therapeutically and everyone on North Unit when i was there. i am so grateful for all of you guys since you have built me as a better person!!i wanna advocate to parents with teens who have struggles, teens with struggles, or even just people with struggles (if 18+ please don t be weird). i have went through my struggles and i wanna advocate to get your struggles fixed too. we can talk on the phone to learn about dbt and i will do my best. parents if you have struggling teens, please consider this place. you guys can talk to me and i will advocate but will not force.i pray for the best for everyone!

I was at Midwest center for about 95 days and every moment, though some weren't always enjoyable, was extremely worth it. I would like you to know that the north unit BRS' unit clerk and teacher were phenomenal! I will definitely be in touch with the staff. They took care of me and I was treated equally. As the DBT advisor ( head of resident council) I learned what it ment to be accountable, and to be a good leader. I would suggest Midwest-center for youth and families!

I am aware that I ve already left a review for Midwest. However, after a few months, I do believe that it would be important to provide a little update. Midwest has continued to set my life on a good path. They ve helped me get sober, manage my emotions, and take back my life. I m taking classes to become a teacher to help kids going through their own challenging situations, a path I would never have gotten to if not for Teacher Wendy. I ve become more confident in myself, thanks to Pickle, Eir, and Earl. Thanks to Jasmine, I ve become more open, honest, and assertive about my needs. I ve become an active advocate for myself and others, courtesy of my time on my unit s Resident Council. I ve gotten my medications under control and gotten off of a majority of them, which can be attributed to the amazing nursing staff and Dr. Jarvis care and encouragement, along with DBT as a whole. And I ll always remember the early mornings joking around with Josh and my roommate. Not to mention that my quality of life, the quality of the people around me, and my general happiness have improved so much, and I never would ve given them a chance to if not for the amazing staff at Midwest. I also want to give a shoutout to Ms. Patrice and Kurtis. They always got a lot of hate because they followed the rules, but ultimately, they made the experience much better.Parents, I know that times have to be rough if your children need to be sent here, and yes, it s not going to be easy. I know that it s especially hard if your impression of MCYF is based on the reviews you see here. But I implore you to give them a chance. The staff here are wonderful, and they truly care about making an impact on your children s lives. Everyone from the Chef to the BHWs to the CEO cares about their residents and wants to give them a chance to have a better life.I came to MCYF during the most difficult time of my life a time when I wanted nothing more than to give up and die. I left MCYF with renewed hope and aspirations to do and be more. They showed me that we all have a life worth living. Yes, there have been setbacks, but life just has those. But before now, I would have let those mistakes consume me and lead me down a path of self-destruction. But they ve given me the tools I needed to set myself back on a better route, and I never could ve gotten this far without them. Thank you, Midwest, for giving me and many others the opportunity to truly live.
