The good Lord sent them here because He knew I would eventually need them so very much, so much that my life depended on them. They saved my life! They stuck by me through the years! People, medication and therapists are both sought and gained only through trial and error. It took me a number of years to get it all straight and now I couldn't be happier! I've tried places in Kokomo and Wabash and by far, Four County is the best place around for your mental health. I definitely recommend! I was a kid on the inside. Mr. Jeff & Savannah saved me from myself AT LEAST 3 times from trying to walk out on my recovery because of issues on the outside (life continues even though we go to treatment, ya know). When I tell you I have never met a team of such caring loving & HONEST staff? I hadn’t until I walked into this facility. I graduated yesterday, with 44 days today under my belt. I had hopped on a plane from Houston TX not knowing anything but my Higher Power did. I am so beyond grateful to First City and their peeps. My reviews at the time would’ve been stellar. On that note, you really need to look at all of the reviews on all of the review sites. I don’t know if Google really vets their reviews so do some really good research before you decide against this place. I’ve been sober for 37 years. Zeno 1 year ago I don’t know who the negative reviews are from but some people (patients) are the because they are psychotic & out of control. Its a secure facility. You aint in there fore a vacation. You are there for treatment. Ive been twice. Staff are awesome...every one of them. Food os great. Big screen TV & about 150 movies, books, private rooms. Boy was I wrong! Started coming here because I moved to wabash and I am beyond impressed with this Bowen. My psych practitioner was attentive and super informative and even asked me to ask her any question about her I wanted to know as an icebreaker which I thought was really cool. She informed me they now do primary care as well and I needed a new primary care as well and so glad I went here. The NP was nothing short of spectacular, friendly, caring, informative and super attentive to my health concerns. She addressed every single problem I had and listened intently instead of putting off my concerns like a lot of doctors normally seem to do. What i found very helpful is over half the staff are recovered addicts. They know what your going through and how you feel, they have lived it. They show you what a great sober life is waiting for you on the other side. It's not easy getting help and they know it!! They are some of the best people I have met in my life. If you or someone you know needs treatment you CAN NOT find a better place in the world!!!!!! I was in the Anderson,In. rehab facility for 25 days, that place is amazing!!! I was admitted to Selah in Summer 2023 and 2024. I learned to advocated for myself and others. Shout out to nurse Mary Adkins and Kenzie, therapists Emily and Marice! Without them I would of left Selah. I was panicking, didn't feel heard and my dietian left for a different practice. There was so many changes that happened when I was there in 2024. But overall for me, what I gained from both experience was "trust" from the clinical staff at Selah. Trust the process. I have never had that before. RC Chasey, Gwen and Stacie are amazing staff that genuinely care about the clients and their recovery. So glad to hear recently therapist Emily is taking over Christian Programming. One of the reasons I looked more into Selah was faith programming. On Sundays, I always looked forward to church in residential and php. Elizabeth Noel 7 months ago selah may not have been able to heal me from my eating disorder, not because their work and people aren’t great, but i believe because i have very deep internal issues i’ve struggled to work on myself for years. the program improved a lot from 2022 to 2024 (my two stays). obviously the program had its issues and iffy staff members, but overall the nurses and techs made me feel so loved. nancy, hailey, sydney, jess, christi, maggie, marcie, kati and chris the chaplain are amazing people. thank you guys for making me feel like a person.
