I feel that I owe this place so much! They are lifesavers for me! The good Lord sent them here because He knew I would eventually need them so very much, so much that my life depended on them. They saved my life! They stuck by me through the years! People, medication and therapists are both sought and gained only through trial and error. It took me a number of years to get it all straight and now I couldn't be happier!
I've tried places in Kokomo and Wabash and by far, Four County is the best place around for your mental health. I definitely recommend!

So I just want to start off by stating that this facility changed my life drastically and saved my butt! Quite literally. I came to FCRC a scared, shaking, & shy woman. I was a kid on the inside.
Mr. Jeff & Savannah saved me from myself AT LEAST 3 times from trying to walk out on my recovery because of issues on the outside (life continues even though we go to treatment, ya know). When I tell you I have never met a team of such caring loving & HONEST staff? I hadn’t until I walked into this facility. I graduated yesterday, with 44 days today under my belt. I had hopped on a plane from Houston TX not knowing anything but my Higher Power did. I am so beyond grateful to First City and their peeps. All the way from the Detox experience to my PHP part of my program, everyone was helpful and so kind. And that level of care? Hard to find. Aye, shout out to Bobby in PHP & IOP, that’s my boy!!! I recently got discharged from a 4-day stay here. From the minute I was admitted I was told what was going on and questions were most certainly welcomed. I got a tour of the unit and my bedroom and was introduced to my roommate right away. I have a gluten and lactose intolerance, and the staff sat down and asked what I would like to eat and accommodated my needs. The food is great and there's plenty of options. Anytime you need something you can walk over to the nurse's station and they'll be able to help you. My nurses and the techs and the doctor were exceptional! I especially want to thank Katey, the group organizer. She and I painted and sat and talked and she said she really wanted to be a part of my healing journey and found material for our groups to help me out. I enjoyed the relaxed schedule where groups are in the morning and early afternoon and if they don't fit your needs you don't have to attend. I was able to take naps when I was tired or feeling unwell, and one night they let me sleep on the couch because I felt more comfortable doing so. I was also able to take showers at my request and recieve fresh scrubs, socks, and undergarments daily. You can also take in a phone call list and call your friends and family any time you'd like. I can't express how good this place is, and how amazing it is that I got in when they only have 7 beds at the moment. If you're looking for help for you or someone else and the person needing help is 18 or older, please go here! It's worth the drive to get the help you need!

I had a client of my nonprofit, LITE, who needed access to a safe place overnight until we could find him a residential recovery program. He'd completed a detox program but we hadn't secured a "bed" for him at this next stop. Jill was welcoming and helpful and we were able to provide our client a comforting, safe space. I'd like to mention the wonderful caregivers who have bettered our lives. Firstly, Erin Hollowell is amazing with children. She's worked with my son and we've had family sessions that have resolved issues that seemed hopeless. She offers realistic advice and provides a plan that can help future issues. I appreciate how well she is able to articulate both side's perspectives and offer valuable feedback without undermining either of us.
Fay Montague is a wonderful doctor who diligently worked to come up with a plan to help our family. It took months to see an improvement but she was persistent and showed our family so much compassion during one of the hardest times of our lives. I went from feeling endless frustration and wanting to give up to feeling hope for the first time in months and finally the results that we prayed for.
Aaron Crump is an amazing therapist. He is so insightful and smart. He is able to reframe my situations in such a way that my perception shifts. Instead of offering pointless validation he challenges me by asking questions that lead me to a better understanding. It's so helpful when I'm feeling stuck in an unhealthy thought cycle and has improved my self esteem so much. I'm more reflective and have more self compassion.
Don't let the other reviews persuade you. Our Bowen center is filled with providers who consistently do their best to improve the lives of their patients. This location is so much better than the ones in the surrounding community. Thank you for all you do.

I dont know why the rating is the way it is, I come here for mental health therapy and I think so far that my therapist is great and I am a very hard man to get along with because of my physical and mental health trauma in my past. My therapist, Brandy, is excellent and listens, and is also very real. I have been with Bowen for many years through Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and now Huntington. I currently live in Indianapolis and travel over two hours one way to come to therapy, this is how good Bowen is in my eyes.

I came to Tara in February 2020 after my new born daughter was immediately removed from my care at birth, my house was part of a local drug raid, and overdosing shortly getting out of jail. I had been beaten beyond recognition- I didn’t who I was… or why I was the way I was… I was a tiny piece inside my body, the rest consumed with anger, fear, loneliness, etc. I wanted to be me again- the mom I have always meant to be for my three daughters. Tara was immediately welcoming- it wasn’t over crowded, they had nice furniture to relax in while doing the intake process, and everyone was so kind and welcoming. I recall not wanting to leave Tara when my 30 days had came to an end, but I was so excited to start my new life. As of today I am 5 years and 9 months clean- this would not be possible without Tara. My family really pushed me to come in. I wasn't ready but I am SO thankful I ended up here. The staff really care (besides some nurses / techs but you're going to have some bad eggs anywhere you go). A lot of the group facilitators have had their own struggles and don't make you feel like you are being lectured. Brian especially was really cool. When it comes to the doctors or nurse practiconers, ask for Hason! He doesnt just throw medication at you like some do, he explains stuff so well and really knows his stuff. Couldn't reccomend this place enough!

Having used their facilities for our Union members and for a family member, the counselors are caring, responsive, and communicate very well on a treatment plan and objectives & goals. Ms Tori awesome!!!!! The group meetings and accountability for each other in treatment works in a great atmosphere. I would strongly recommend this facility if a friend, co-worker, and family members are in need of help with addictions and/or mental health. It is located in chesterton nearby for visitation purposes.

I have never written a review before but the lack of care and respect I received at this office warrants my first ever review as a warning to everyone seeking help with substance abuse, the staff here is not kind they treated me like scum I already feel so low and the lack of empathy these people had for me after finding out I didn’t have Insurance shook me to the core I was thrown out and was not even allowed to be in the lobby to keep out of the cold, a heavy set blonde woman bullied me into leaving the property and threatened to call the police for sitting on the bench outside stay away terrible place terrible staff
