So nice to know that there are still people that care. 7 years ago Great place. Staff was very friendly. Dr. Hipp has the best bedside manner. Took our 4yo girl in for a cut to her eyebrow. He played with her and get her to relax before glueing the wound shut. Don’t want to have to go back because, well, it’s a hospital and you don’t usually go unless something is wrong. She is very patient. She talked about the different programs available for different goals. However, for most of your stay here there is literally nothing to do except sleep in your room and watch tv in the group area :( And even all of the nurses agree that they don't really do anything to actually "help" most people, other than it being essentially a holding tank to help you detox. BUT, believe I did actually get some benefit during my stay. And, believe it or not, it was from having conversations with the other patients who were there during my stay. So, it COULD potentially help you in some capacity, but if you're looking for a place with an actual structured "program" or trained staff that will work with to help you figure out some solutions to whatever it is you may be struggling with, then I would find some place else. We signed in and they took us to the visitor room and they brought my mother in law in to visit with us. My mother law was alert and we spent time with her for about an hour. My mother in law looked good and well fed .the facility was clean and well taken care of . As the visit ended they took my mother in law back to her room and then came bk to get us to take us to the exit. The staff we encountered that day was very happy and caring. jannell townsend 3 months ago A close family member for whom I am responsible was at this facility for 4 months. They had previously been in 2 other settings without little to no improvement. The physician at MSH got her on an effective medication regimen. The social worker was a God-send, helping me find a placement that met my loved one's needs and which we could financially manage. Before and after discharge, I experienced support and empathy that I had not found in other situations. If I wanted to find something to complain about, I probably could--BUT what is important to me was the outcome of MSH'S care and treatment of my loved one and for that, 5 stars. Our first therapist took another job but she was kind enough to sit on sessions with his new therapist as he adjusted. One can not fault someone else for bettering themselves. My understanding new therapist have to work under someone for a year before being allowed to proceed to the next step of their own practicing business. This may explain the revolving door of therapist. We have been very fortunate with the two we have had. I do think management may not take or listen very well to suggestions or input for therapist from what I have seen. But with any job there's always two different sides to every thing.
