As a former therapist at Birmingham Recovery Center, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the incredible compassion and dedication that defines this facility. The team here is truly unmatched in their commitment to providing high-quality, individualized care for every client who walks through the door. BRC goes beyond just treating addiction—they focus on healing the whole person, addressing mental health, trauma, and the underlying factors that contribute to substance use. The clinical staff is highly skilled, deeply empathetic, and unwavering in their mission to support lasting recovery. Having worked in the field for years, I can confidently say that Birmingham Recovery Center is the preeminent treatment facility in Alabama. Their approach is evidence-based, their environment is welcoming and supportive, and their passion for recovery is undeniable. Anyone seeking help for themselves or a loved one will find a level of care here that is truly life-changing. I’m grateful to have been a part of such a remarkable team, and I continue to recommend BRC to anyone looking for the best in addiction treatment.

I spent almost 25 years of my life in addiction. I was most certainly lost in the darkness. I had nothing, no home, car, food, identification, family and most of all, I had no hope. I remember my aunt picking me up from jail one of the multiple times asking me why I didn't consider a program. I was 38 y/o and had never considered the possibility that my life could truly be transformed. My response to her was "it's too late for that, I'm too far gone & I've done way too much damage to repair". I made that comment not knowing the love, faithfulness or magnitude of who God is. The thought of trying life a different way sparked a desire for change and I asked for help. My aunt took me to The Lovelady Center in March of that year and my life has never been the same. I entered the program hopeless and alone with nothing to my name. A mother who hadn't spoken to her children in years. I left that program Mary German, a mom of 3, proud of who God was showing me I truly was, a functioning member of society, A licensed driver with a SS card and birth certificate, a dependable employee, a woman with hope beyond measure, shining a light that only Christ can provide. My hope in writing this is that anyone reading it realizes IT'S NEVER TOO LATE, YOU'RE NEVER TOO FAR GONE & NO DAMAGE IS TOO MUCH FOR GOD TO REPAIR!! The Lovelady Center provides the love and the tools to reach up from rock bottom, leave the darkness and step into the light!! Thank you with all my heart for everything that The center is and does!!

I honestly can’t thank Impact and their entire staff enough! I had no clue what to expect with them being my very first treatment center. I’ve never worked the Steps before and truly believed that I was just meant to live the same miserable life that I’ve been living until my death. They showed me that was far from the truth. I can proudly attest to that with today being 90 days sober! This is the longest I’ve been 100% off anything mind-altering since I was 14 years old. From my very first call with the owner Adams to my last day of the 35 day program, everyone treated me with so much kindness and patience. They teach you everything you need to know in order to live a happy and healthy life without drugs/alcohol, you just have to be willing to not only learn what they teach but also put it all into practice in real life. Wherever below rock bottom is, I was there for sure before Impact. Adams, Chad, Shaun, Colby, Schwartz, Dikis, Taner, Moody, Sam, Kathleen, and Emily, you are all a Godsend and I thank you for honestly saving my life. Keep doing the amazing work that you all have been doing, and if anyone reading this is willing and able to become part of the Impact family I say do it. Don’t hesitate and take that first step towards true recovery <3

I wanted to take my own life before coming to Impact. I felt completely and utterly hopeless. I was pitifully and incomprehensibly demoralized, plagued by regret, and crushed by the weight of the unmanageable life I was leading. Impact provided a safe place for me to truly accept what I can’t change for the first time, and helped show me the way forward. If you are ready to be honest with yourself and follow some directions you may not understand at first, I promise you that Impact can and will help you.

If you are truly ready to surrender, receive help, and are willing to go to any length to rid yourself of addiction, Impact’s program will transform your life in ways you never thought possible. The resulting new way to approach life is so rewarding.

I was there at the inpatient PTSD program from March until May. I had a very positive experience while there. The medical staff was always polite to me as well as any of the other staff members I met. I never felt like I was a problem or a burden or causing them an inconvenience when I asked for something. This VA helped save my life and give me the foundation to lay my new mental health journey upon. My case worker Robin S. was aces! Helped me selected a class schedule-work load that was focused on PTSD. The only issue I had was the food. The food was horrible but the dietician’s did work with me to change up my personal menu. There are rules in place for the resident and the rules will not be violated without repercussions. I kept my head down, minded my own business and walked so much around the campus in my down time. Those 7 weeks flew by. You can have Amazon prime deliver things to you for your stay and your allowed door dash. There are random drug screenings and breathalyzers as part of the stay. These are mandatory not suggested. Be involved in your care and you will have a great experience. Be a problem and you’re gonna get treated as such. Thank you to everyone who helped me to get there, while I was there and the after discharge phone calls to check up on me. I am one appreciative veteran.

He was very nice and polite to all the patients and he was very uplifting to me and Everyone around him and he also kept everyone laughing. He also cleaned up after us where other pct’s just sat in the area where the Nurses were and some even were so rude and would even provoke patients. 🙄 The Nursing Staff for the most part was kind and caring. Wellstone is not some eutopia were they have a magic want that can cure the issues that you have n I certainly cannot speak for other people's experience. I had to do the work but they gave me the tools that set me up for success. The leaders, counselor and staff have never done anything but support me. They work tireslessy at a job that is far from glamorous. If you are reading this and you face a crossroads of your life and you don't know we're to start.
