They not only saved my life but also my future 🙏🙏 Leigh Sargent is an incredible person and a great listener I only had one minor issue with a nurse and Leigh had it fixed immediately!!! If you are struggling with addiction please let her help you..she and her staff are amazing and really fast at getting you in and keeping you comfortable!!!!!!! My personal addiction was alcohol..but I was drinking to stop shaking from side effects from Gabapentin and being an artist that could have been career ending and Leigh absolutely saved me 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 if you are suffering from addiction of any sort or type please do yourself a favor and get some help from her immediately….I can guarantee you not only will she get you through it but she will check on you constantly and her staff as well!! Hospital, but I was very pleased with the care my husband received. We came in after hours through the ER. I called and ask for directions how to get him inside, and where to park my car. He was in a transport wheel chair. The lady came out to my car, and called for someone to take my husband inside, while I parked a couple of blocks away. When I got to the ER he was already in a bay, with the IV in his arm. They conducted all the testing & cat scan. Every single person was kinder than the last. They even brought him a breakfast tray. They determined he would be admitted and shortly after that was placed in his room. They also asked if I wanted a bed in the room with him. He was there around 10 days.( I declined) And they absolutely were up to date, kind, and above and beyond anything I would have expected. The parking at the V.A. center and shuttling took a while to navigate, I do wish that had been explained to me sooner. CL W 4 days ago My first time experience at the Birmingham VA was very pleasant. Today's visit was as efficient as I have ever seen. The emergency check in, triage, being checked out by a PA, X-ray, nurse administering shots, very smooth. Everyone was so professional and courteous. Review of the images, discharge, and a reasonable wait at pharmacy, and then out the door I went. From the time of arrival until I departed was just under 2.5 hours. Well done Birmingham VA staff! I am NOT one of them! This facility is well laid out, and the staff is efficient and helpful. I had one glitch with their optometry department, but otherwise, no issues in 2+ years of going here. What they cannot do, they refer out for Community Care, or suggest the Birmingham VA. Despite Birmingham being nearly 2 hours each way, it’s been worth the trip each of the 2 times I went there. Unless I move, I will continue to go to this clinic, and I’ll recommend it. I appreciate the staff there each time I visit. Wingate were the best people & care I have received military or civilian that I can even remember. My anxiety was in full blown mode and April made me feel so understood and she was such a comfort. And B. Wingate made me feel heard and understood and set up all test, meds and referrals that were needed. I feel extremely bless to have had these two taking care of me and can not stress enough how quick , efficient and KIND they both were. The ladies at the front desk were beyond helpful as well getting my future appointments schedule before I left. I have nothing but good things to say for Oxford VA Clinic! He was shot twice in the stomach and twice in the chest. He remained calm and called 911 and told God you saved me once so I know you will save me again. He was born three days after my 42nd birthday and received his name due to a healing when they said he was going to die. His name is Blesset Isaiah Person. After he was named after a Nigerian friend named Blessing and my sister-in-law said to name him Isaiah which means the Lord Saves I called and gave my assistant minister his name and the doctors’ cane in and said look like he’s going to pull through to which I responded there is no look like with God! Anyway UAB trauma surgeons are the best in the country. The surgery took about 41/2 hours. He lost a kidney, his spleen, a piece of his pancreas and has a bullet lodged in his back. First off when I made it to the 9th floor trauma unit Fonda gave me a coffee cake and Laquita continued to take care of me and my family daily! The nurses were heavenly divine. There was Abby Vice my favorite and Abby Hadaway my other favorite, plus Emily, and Shantia my son who relieved me and my son the patient’s favorite along with me. Omg all the nurses were so great. The PCAs’ Jason, Jordon, Brady, Daphne and the rest went above and beyond. As for the doctors’ the Trauma doctors were the best this side of heaven. Dr WAN was so kind and friendly. He explained my son’s condition very well as did Dr. Frutata and Dr Wu who discharged him today! Dr Amini made a great impression on me as well and Dr Weiner. They are exceptional and do their jobs in a manner consistent with excellence. I’m proud to have known them! I love that THEY OFFER GRANTS that cover all or most of your treatment. Focus is definitely not on counseling here, and your experience can vary pretty widely depending on who you get. I'm currently on a by-the-book stickler counselor, but they never last long so hopefully my next one will be better. I think I've had 5+ counselors I've gone through in less than a year because they come and go so quickly. Dr. Archibald tends to be less than sympathetic to addicts. I'm not sure why people like that work in these places but I guess maybe they start wanting to help then get jaded.
