Because I needed to lay eyes on him, and get a feel for the facility. It’s a very clean comfortable environment. The entire staff was so attentive to him his entire stay!! I was able to call anytime and speak to him he was able to call home as often as he needed!! The doctors nurses and mental health workers were AMAZING!!!! I was impressed with how well trained they are with working with people that are having a hard time! They were very patient with my son, and kept me very informed with exactly every thing going on with him! The Pscyh doctors know there stuff!! I am convinced that most people would never take psychotropic drugs if they knew how dangerous they are, and I am equally convinced that most doctors would stop prescribing them if they had the slightest idea of their harmful effects. In 2003, the FDA added a warning about an increased risk of stroke to the US product information for risperidone. The same warning appeared for olanzapine in 2004 and for aripiprazole in 2005. My first time there in December 2023 was ok, the staff was kind except for one tech from the adult unit... When I went back last December, I ended up staying for Christmas, and the staff did their best to make us happy with gifts, games, etc. I stayed for almost a month and started becoming myself again with help from my favourite tech and my favorite nurses. This was the first place that actually treated me like a human being while being in a psych facility. Most of the staff were still there from the first time and they had a better understanding with what was going on. I was so happy they remembered what had helped me last time.
