To be honest I was thinking I didn’t need to go and I was mandated to go for court and it turned out to be a experience that I was not aware that I needed we as people need to be more open to mental health and this is not to judge or target it’s just for self care I would recommend to everyone

Recovery finally made some sense when at coles place, ended up going to a higher level of care because some mental health, and addiction. I'm Nathan Janvrin and 16 months clean tomorrow! Don't ever give up!! You didn't give up when it was raining and you were dope sick! Give yourself a brake!!

I have nothing but good things to say about the staff here! I have seen many therapists in the past due to my depression, etc but, the therapist I have there actually takes the time to listen and gives me great advice and other ways of coping.

I was a little nervous about going to a psych hospital that was an hour and a half from where I lived, but I have nothing to say but good things about this facility. The shrink wasn't the best, but the nurses and support staff were amazing. I spent a little over 2 weeks there, and it really helped. Not my preferred psych facility, but they really helped. So, if yr having trouble dealing with mental health, and in need of help, this place won't do you wrong. And the food was very good. Once they realized I was a vegetarian, I got great food. This place helps you put things into perspective. After my stay, I know I won't need to go anywhere else. They made me understand that I'm ok. And that's a feeling I haven't had in a while.

It's thankless work doing reentry. They helped pay for work supplies, food, got me to appointments not to mention literally put clothes on my back. You can't please everyone but you helped me. I want to thank Richard Romero and his boss Richard Guy personally for being professionals.

Staff and PA’s are great. The labs are great and pharmacy is efficient and works with you. They could probably use more admin staff - appear stressed. But that could also be fear of job loss due to political climate. Mental health is responsive and helpful. Mr Higgins is a great medical professional , hope he comes back soon. Establishing a rapport is important.

My first experience was great with everyone in the building.

People on most part are great and very thankful I've had services both twice when laid off from job and now that retired. Only downfall or complaint is the whole VA phone system to get a hold anybody to cancel or leave message is a real cornfield maze.

Carlson was the right place at the right time for me to bring a friend of mine who had finally decided to detox and go into an aftercare program, from addiction. The place was well organized, seemed to be run well and plenty of patient supervision, from the point that my friend made it through the complete admission process, she was able to reach out to myself and her sister, and her mother, and then transition to the Hope house in Springfield. I strongly encourage anyone battling with addiction and / or dual diagnosis as well, to call Carlson for bed availability and go through the program. A lot has changed in this field over the past five years, but most notably over the past two years, and there is help and there is hope, if you know somebody who’s struggling out there, they are somebody’s daughter they are somebody’s son. They could also be somebody’s spouse and they could also be somebody’s parent as well, try to do what you can to help them as long as it’s within your cable tow. God bless.

I think the Carlson center was awesome. They medicate you so you are really comfortable. Their food is incredible and you can get seconds too which is helpful when you are starving and coming off alcohol. Every time I relapsed I went there because I knew they would give me another chance. You should go to groups but yes you can sleep if you’re tired. I remember the first time I went there. I was in serious alcohol withdrawal. I had the best sleep after being medicated. Their staff is great too. They saved my life. They wake you up for vitals early but you may need medication. They have punch in the tv room which I drank like no tomorrow. Snacks too. I’ve been there like 7 times and they always treat me great. I wish I could say my name but can’t. You will always get a second chance there

Frank Shea is hands down the best therapist ever! He has an amazing soul. Very kind demeanor.He goes above, and beyond his job, and it shows.Its not just a job to him. He genuinely cares. Extremely professional. I worked with him for MANY years. I don't know where I would have been without his help. He will hold a special place with me for the rest of my life!

I was very happy to have learned of this establishment. Many insurances are accepted like Medicaid and Medicare, although certain counselors accept certain insurances. The scheduling coordinators are very friendly and work with you to receive the help you need. It is also worth noting that services are offered for kids and even toddlers, with referalls offered as well.
