I’ve been on my recovery journey since 2023, and I’m now approaching a year of sobriety. I can honestly say that The Canyon and its staff were instrumental in that success. Before coming here, I had attended many programs but never received the true treatment and support I needed.
Antonio, the Executive Director, goes above and beyond for every client. When I called, he immediately sprang into action and secured my spot in treatment with unmatched drive and dedication. The therapeutic staff is exceptional—highly educated, knowledgeable, and deeply caring. Every group session provided real learning and takeaways that supported my growth.
What makes The Canyon different is the genuine care and community they foster. The environment they create allows you to feel supported, encouraged, and capable of building real recovery. Though I began my sobriety journey in 2023, I didn’t start truly recovering until I walked through their doors in the summer of 2024.

Antonio’s class is always a full house! He is able to make behavioral modification happen on the spot. We had four people relinquish their vapes, and one by one threw them away in the trashcan.
He puts 110% into saving lives here, and he’s a local celebrity here for good reason, and it’s more than his motivational classes, it’s his on-point mentorship.

I have been to a multitude of treatment centers in and outside of California, Avedis Recovery is by FAR the most caring, authentic, and helpful place I have ever been to. It is the ONLY place that I was able to stay sober during my entire time and where I was able to find the confidence in myself to stay sober and where I found real growth. They care. Every other treatment center it was very clear that the management and program directors were really only involved for the money. The program director at Avedis is not, he and all other staff GENUINELY CARE!! Usually at other places you never see the director but here you see him almost everyday, he is involved and genuinely cares about people here and their sobriety. With the help of Avedis Recovery I was able to gain a newfound confidence in myself, my family’s trust, my faith in God, and most of all a clear and sober mind. If it wasn’t for Avedis I don’t know where I would be, but now I am almost 8 months sober and am actually happy and enjoying life. I give all the thanks to God and Avedis!

I can’t say enough good things about this treatment center. From day one, the staff and owners made me feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. You can tell they aren’t just here for a paycheck — they truly love what they do and go above and beyond to make sure every client feels safe and valued.
One of the things that stood out to me was that they let me keep my phone. It might sound small, but it made a huge difference being able to stay in touch with my family while still committing to the program. That balance of trust and accountability helped me stay grounded during my stay.
The therapy and case management here are what really set this place apart. The therapists were knowledgeable and compassionate, always willing to meet me where I was at instead of forcing a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Case management worked with me step by step, helping me set goals, prepare for life after treatment, and build a foundation I could actually maintain.
Since graduating, I’ve stayed sober — and I honestly credit that to the tools, guidance, and support I received here. This isn’t just a treatment center; it’s a family that gives you hope and equips you with everything you need to rebuild your life. If you’re struggling and looking for a place that will treat you with love, respect, and real care, this is the place to go.

I didn't realize that a communal atmosphere is just what I needed to open up and take care of well being. I stayed for 6 months at the Haven House in Long Beach. They had so many resources for me getting my life back on the right track. I found a setting of other guys who had been through so much and were there to listen and to encourage my progress. I honestly felt like staying resort for rehabilitating everything about myself. We did yoga to help the mind and body. We had movie nights to laugh and think and engage in life conversations. The best part was the proximity to the beach. We had a lot of outings and picnics along the Long Beach Shore. I very much recommend this establishment if you wish to progress through addiction and leave all the more better for society.

| The Nexus Recovery Services center is located in Los Angeles, California. This facility offers multiple comprehensive recovery services to adults battling with drug and alcohol abuse and co-occurring disorders. Each service is focused on providing individualized care as it is a center that believes that no standardized drug treatment meets each per | Treatments Programs Payment Options | If you are like me, you have been tirelessly researching online or calling various sober living facilities - feeling heartbroken, lost, desperate, and confused - all while facing a decision which would directly impact the livelihood of a loved one. No pressure, right? My family member had just completed rehab outside of Los Angeles and needed a sober living facility with good and honest people to help them adjust back to “real life.” All I knew at this point in my search is what I wanted for them. I was looking for a sober living facility where they would have focus on the program, be given the direction and guidance of counselors with care, be introduced to meetings around LA, all leading up to the goal of steering them back to a healthy and positive life. The real (and scary) answer is these places are hard to come by. I unfortunately saw that first-hand. Now to get to why I NEEDED to write this review. Nexus. 5 letters that make up a word I want to shout from the rooftops with such profound gratitude. Yes, my family member chose to do the work, take it seriously, make it a priority in their life, but it is also about who you surround yourself with. Nexus gave my family member a community bringing people into our lives which have changed it for the better. Nexus gave my family member counseling which has opened them up to realizing their true potential without the need of drugs or alcohol – they are just grateful to be walking in their shoes sober. And one of the most important attributes of Nexus you may ask? Those that run the program. Halim, Johnnie, Rob, and Dano. I will never forget the first night I talked to Halim. And I say “talked” as if it was only one time. We spoke at least 10 times and he was a savior. He picked my family member up from somewhere where they were drowning and brought them to the Playa house. I was in a different state and was powerless but Halim was there. How could I have been more fortunate? I am forever indebted to the people that work at the Playa house (house manager, supervisors, techs, case managers, drivers) and the program Nexus has brought to our lives. Nothing is more important to me then family, and Nexus gave me my family back.

I was stumbling around the barren wasteland of treatment centers desperate enough to buy the guise of empathetic adversaries stating they care for you promising water and nourishment only to be a mirage in the futile landscape (south Florida).
So I showed up on a rainy day in Los Angeles and was greeted by great staff, met my therapist Melissa (amazing person and professional) and started group therapy. Delena, a group therapist at Nexus, is a god send and at this point I believe she might literally be an Earth Angel that brings light to all of the darkness that we think we believe when we get sober.
I started to have hope for my future and felt like the impossible was now possible. Somewhere in the mix I met Kurt (another group therapist) I don’t know what exactly he does or how he does it... but he changed my life because I was always seeking answers to questions unattainable or that others never had the capacity to answer... but the best way to talk about Kurt is to not talk about Kurt and let people experience spirituality on THEIR terms!
All the staff is wonderful shout out to UA Nick.
Big Jeff will help you with all of your outside stuff legal, work ect but also knows what he is talking about in recovery and in spirituality. Halim Daniel is the go to guy for pretty much anything. He holds his staff just as accountable as the clients.
Lastly, I’d recommend this place for anyone serious about recovery. The best testimony comes from clients and past members and what stands out to me is that a lot of past members are still sober or clean. We are all pretty close too. If you are fed up with the treatment industry I understand how you Feel. There is real solution and hope here and more than that to me is the amount of love ❤️

When my 19 year old son completed residential treatment I began the search for an outpatient program that could supplement his sober living. From the very first phone call to Nexus I knew we had found the right place. The initial contact was loving, warm, and encouraging which was exactly what I needed in those early days of his sobriety.
Over the course of his seven months at Nexus those same traits from that first phone call grew and worked magic on my son. I can’t know what happened daily or even weekly at Nexus, but I know the changes I saw in my son. The young man he was destined to be was awakened and nurtured by Nexus. They kept me informed along the way and I was able to participate in a wonderful family program weekend.
Today my son is in college and living a productive life. We both credit Nexus for providing him the space, support, insight and love he needed to move into this next chapter. I am forever grateful to the staff at Nexus.

If you're LGBTQ+ and struggling with addiction, La Fuente Treatment Center should absolutely be the first place on your list that you consider. I will be forever grateful to La Fuente and its entire staff for helping me with my drug addiction + alcoholism. The clinical staff and therapists helped me to better understand the underlying issues that led me to use and abuse substances. As a gay man, I wanted to find a treatment center where I could comfortably be myself without judgment -- a place where I'd be among others like me within the LGBTQ community. Shockingly, there are very few treatment centers in the country like this. First, the entire staff at La Fuente (who are also all LGBTQ+) are beyond amazing - kind, caring, insightful, helpful, patient, loving, supportive, and inspirational. They made me feel loved until I could learn to love myself again. Second, given that La Fuente only takes a maximum of 10 clients at a time (and it's usually under 10 clients while you're there), it makes for a much more intimate experience (unlike other treatment centers where you simply become a number). Third, La Fuente is very welcoming, clean and comfortable (I ended up having my own room for the majority of my stay). Honestly, it is such a magical and special place. I loved it so much that I stayed for a full 90 days because they made me feel safe and seen. Again, if you're LGBTQ and struggling and looking for help, start here! I'm close to 6 months sober today and feel like I finally have my life back and I owe it all to La Fuente, its program and their entire staff.

La Fuente is the magical place that provided a safe environment to begin my healing and recovery. Everyone from admissions to the therapists and techs went above and beyond to address all client’s needs and meet us where we’re at. It is important to note that the entire team is apart of the LGBTQIA+ community which shows just how dedicated they are to providing a connected, thoughtful approach to their program. I am grateful to say I have my life back because of my time there.

Came to get a check up, but Dr. Hunt was talking to this really really old guy named Dr. Webber, about all his kids the whole time. Really unprofessional. I complained to Chief Bailey, and she was very accommodating. I overheard her yelling at him which is why I’m giving this a 5 star.
