The facility really likes to make sure that everyone is fed properly, with three excellent meals and three snack times each day. The staff was excellent attending to each individual needs and will work with each person in the best way they can. You'll also expirence a very entertaining staff that will joke with you and play around with you, making your stay a very pleasant one, definitely if you are the shy introvert that I use to be. The facility health providers/caregivers will also care and listen to you, making it a very safe place to open up and let out any problems your going through that much eaiser to cope with. One of the best was Charlie who came up with multiple ways to share your expirence/thoughts and come up with the necessary requirements to help advance to the next stages of your life, hearing each individual out and relating to them, also allowing people to stay outside longer with multiple fun activities, that allow more room for people to get out of their shell and meet/open up to the individuals who were also there to heal and prosper. Also be on the look out for one individual that will play,👌 with you a very entertaining way to keep you on you toes. (For those who don't know it's a game, that you show 👌 below the waist, and if you look at this hand signal you've been got.) FOR ANYONE!! Who does go to this facility you should participate and get him for me, but beware he is always on his toes, so it's very difficult to do so. Overall I give my stay and the staff a 10/10. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of calm and serenity wash over me, thanks to the beautiful surroundings and the warm welcome from the staff. The facilities were top-notch, with spacious rooms and a serene atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. The therapy sessions were led by experienced professionals who were knowledgeable and empathetic, and the group sessions were engaging and thought-provoking. But what really impressed me was the sense of community that permeated every aspect of the program. From the daily activities to the meals, everything was designed to promote connection and camaraderie among the residents. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt supported and included, and I left feeling like I was part of a true community rather than just a patient. Im thinking that the hours they have listed, which is 5am to 1pm, might be the working hours of nurses and counselors. But it does not refer to dosing hours. I had my first VA appointment today and my nurse April B. and PCP B. Wingate were the best people & care I have received military or civilian that I can even remember. My anxiety was in full blown mode and April made me feel so understood and she was such a comfort. And B. Wingate made me feel heard and understood and set up all test, meds and referrals that were needed. I feel extremely bless to have had these two taking care of me and can not stress enough how quick , efficient and KIND they both were. The ladies at the front desk were beyond helpful as well getting my future appointments schedule before I left. I have nothing but good things to say for Oxford VA Clinic! I have been using this clinic for about 15 years and it has gone through some rough times. At one point some of us had contacted the IG because appointment wait time was 3 or 4 hours. This issue was fixed along with a number of other issues. I suggest for those who have had bad experiences try again. A new clinic has opened on November 15,2021. It is right beside Oxford Lowes. For now I will give 4 stars. After my upcoming appointments I may reevaluate. I have to upgrade my review to 5 stars. The addition of Audio and Optometry to this new clinic has definitely made life easier. The service here has improved 💯 percent over what it was at the old location. The staff is amazing and I have a lot of appointments, so I'm not just a frequent visitor. A special thanks to all the staff who serve us with dignity and honor. I have never been arrested and I figured it would be really hard to be a dad while in active addiction. That was in 2001. I've moved around to different places, Gadsden, Trussville, Tuscaloosa and others. I really loved the people in Tuscaloosa and hated leaving. I had to return to the Oxford area, to help with my mom who was terminal with cancer. When I transferred back to Oxford they were great. I loved the staff. At one point they were down to a skeleton crew, they did the best they could at the time with what they had. They have gotten more staff now and they are wonderful. I don't feel like my number so much. Yes, they are strict on the rules but look at what they deal with. I can manipulate just about anyone as an active addict. We all have that power. There are alot of patients that are not there for the right reasons, then there are also alot of patients that ARE there for the right reasons. The constant change certainly does not give one peace of mind. Familiar faces change places. I can not help but think its the higher ups not doing what is necessary to keep them happy in their workplace. Its sad really! Seeing consistency is very important, especially for addicts working on their road to recovery! Woodstock treatment center has professional Counselors that are non-judgemental, kind and empathetic, (shout out to Lindsay!) developing a plan of care tailored to the individual's needs so recovery though painful is attainable. The podiatrist at Trinka David Clinic listened to my concerns and set me up for further testing. It turns out that I had a fractured bone and a torn tendon (that I ended up losing due to the 5 year wait) and received surgery as soon as it was possible (I had to wait another year due to COVID-19).
