I appreciate the dedication of the staff to caring, and getting patients the help they need. I have been home a few days and I got the help I needed for my PTSD, BIPOLAR, ANXIETY SOCIAL ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND they even discovered I am a diabetic. Id say 95% of the staff are absolute Angels and are there because they actually care. I have been in and out of dr's for years trying to get help with no Luck untill I came to this place. Thankyou you guys for changing my life and getting me the help I needed. Ive never been able to think as clear, or get the mental help I needed untill now.

I recently had the privilege of spending a week at Willowbrooke Mental Institute, and I must say it was a truly transformative experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of calm and serenity wash over me, thanks to the beautiful surroundings and the warm welcome from the staff. The facilities were top-notch, with spacious rooms and a serene atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. The therapy sessions were led by experienced professionals who were knowledgeable and empathetic, and the group sessions were engaging and thought-provoking. But what really impressed me was the sense of community that permeated every aspect of the program. From the daily activities to the meals, everything was designed to promote connection and camaraderie among the residents. This facility is great. The staff go above and beyond. They show great compassion and patience for their patients. You or your loved ones will be well taken care of. I have actually had a pretty good experience over all with this VA Clinic. My doctors have changed over time but they have all tried to address my concerns & issues, usually in a pretty timely manner.
They are awesome people who have kind hearts and really try to help you. They really care about their patients. They will go above and beyond what you would expect. They are more than just another treatment facility!

I was forced to go to highland rivers. They serve tasty food. They have good movies to watch and great books to read. I wish they had some flip flops for these patients. Patients be walking around with the clothes they came in and it gets uncomfortable if you get your bra taken away due to the metal wires inside of the bra. I had such a terrible experience at Highland Rivera that I never want to kill myself again. I wish they had more compassion for their patients and I wish the staff got paid more for the work they do.
The staff was very friendly and kind. Tony was always nice and helpful in the morning. Carrie was helpful with anything I needed in the evening and the sweetest. Would recommend this place to everyone!!!!

This place is truly a place a place to heal. The staff is amazing and works their hardest to provide you with anything you need. They go above and beyond with every part of the process of recovery. Personally, I connected with Mrs. Kerri she is so kind and just one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met 🩵. All of the nurses are true caregivers and will help you at any point with anxiety or other healthcare needs (shoutout Mrs. Kerri. Stephanie, and Abby🩵). If you’re looking for a place to change your environment or seeking a place to help with substance abuse I highly reccomend SouthEast Detox!

The counselors and staff are so caring and loving. The group therapy is top notch and helpful to make a plan for an alcohol/ drug free future. I would highly recommend Southeast Detox.

Great place in the 7 weeks there I never got up and regretted going to the meeting. The staff was amazing and treated everyone with great respect I highly recommend this place for recovery for professional patients for sure they target your profession directly getting you the help personally and mentally also completing the needed paperwork.

I want people to understand something important about the program. When you complete it and leave, the medications they use as “crutches” (like SSRIs) are not designed to be permanent solutions — but they don’t really prepare you for what happens when you try to come off them.
In my case, when I finished the program, I was left with nothing but “good luck.” No tapering support, no real plan, no follow-up guidance. The withdrawal from SSRI medication was a horrific experience, and I had to seek out a separate doctor on my own afterward just to cope.
People should know going in: the program does provide structure and tools while you’re there, but the aftercare is lacking, especially around medication dependence. Be ready to advocate for yourself and find outside medical support when you leave.
Alana is a wonderful place for recovery. The coping skills you learn are top tier! The staff really cares about your progress and they try to do as much as they can to help you with recovery. Cliff, Darnell, Joy and the full staff are amazing. They definitely help you pack life long tools

Being at Alana was a great experience for me. I had a chance to learn a lot of things about recovery and the mental aspect of what drugs and alcohol does to the body as a hole. I would definitely recommend this place to others such as myself that's trying to get their lives together. I stayed there 3 months,and I wish I was able to stay there even longer,Ms.Laura,Ms.Brenda,Colin,Chris,Cliff,and Caitlin played a big role in my recovery,these are PEOPLE THAT ILL NEVER FORGET. They helped me so much along the way,I plan in going back to Alana to work,once I get enough clean time.. I wanted to write a review to say how thankful I am to this facility and the incredible team (special shout out to my therapist Angela and Josh )who work here. Upon arrival I was going through it. From the very beginning the staff welcomed me with compassion, respect, and patience. Not only did they provide incredible treatment- they provided me with a family-like support. I felt understood, safe, and valued.
The therapists and facilitators earnestly listened and helped me navigate through the most difficult time of my life . Thanks to them I made progress and built confidence, learned healthier ways to cope, and began to learn how to love myself. I never felt alone, and felt encouraged and cared for each and every step of the way.

God used HQ to save my life. I attended the residential program in 2019 as a homeless alcoholic and Benzo addict, encouraged to go to treatment by my family. It’s nearly 2026 and I am living the life that God intended for me to be living, 6.5 years sober, rebuilt relationships, a better understanding of myself, and a genuine relationship and walk with Christ. I found hope at HopeQuest, after which I left a career of over a decade and committed my life to helping others to experience what I got to experience in treatment. Every program will have naysayers, but this program is clinically and theologically sound and exceeds best practice.

Dr Lowley is the must awesome dr and such good with kids .We enjoy haven him for my boys Dr and would not change it for the world he is amazing.
The assessment portion was great but the "Urgent" portion is not. It took 3 days for someone to call about meds and that appointment is a month away. We still haven't found a therapist in the system that accepts Medicare. This has added to the stress.

Overall I rate this hospital as one of the best inpatient experiences I've been in for years. Intake process is quick and easy. Rooms are updated and very clean. Food is good quality and vegan options are available. Doctors are very knowledgeable and understanding of your needs. DBT therapy and groups sessions are resourceful and offered daily. Staff is always available to assist.
My only suggestion is to swap out the water fountains for bottled water or a filtered water dispenserary.

Intake rep Michelle is the most caring and compassionate person. She is so passionate about mental health care. Talked me through a crisis over the phone and met me at the door upon my arrival.
Christy S. (LPN) is so sweet and caring. Not only does she always greet you with a smile, she genuinely checks in on you throughout your stay. On Thanksgiving, I witnessed her pass meds and work the entire Unit 4- taking vitals and comforting others. Thank you for our daily talks.

They close at 10:45am on weekdays. They literally lock the door at 10:45am, and on Saturday and Sunday, they close at 8am. So please take this into consideration, or you might find yourself missing your dose.
Also, you have to be there by 9am if you are picking up take-home doses.
I think the hours they have listed, which is 5am to 1pm, might be when the working hours of nurses and counselors. But it does not refer to dosing hours.

They occasionally will go through phases of staffing shortages. where you will have an extremely long wait time. That was my only inconvenience as a patient of 2 years.
I started going to the methadone clinic after my daughter was born. I have never been arrested and I figured it would be really hard to be a dad while in active addiction. That was in 2001. I've moved around to different places, Gadsden, Trussville, Tuscaloosa and others. I really loved the people in Tuscaloosa and hated leaving. I had to return to the Oxford area, to help with my mom who was terminal with cancer. When I transferred back to Oxford they were great. I loved the staff. At one point they were down to a skeleton crew, they did the best they could at the time with what they had. They have gotten more staff now and they are wonderful. I don't feel like my number so much. Yes, they are strict on the rules but look at what they deal with. I can manipulate just about anyone as an active addict. We all have that power. It comes with the territory. Thank you everyone at the Oxford,Al clinic.

My whole life I've heard horror stories about the VA. The last 2.5 years we have lived with my dad to take care of him. I have nothing but great things to say about the Oxford VA and the nationwide VA pharmacy. They take great care of my dad and are VERY thorough with his care. The nurses treat him like gold and flirt with him, which he loves. They provide almost anything he needs: some of his prescriptions, a hospital bed, liquid thickener, oxygen tank, eye services, psychiatric services, etc. Any time I have had to call they have been sooooo polite and helpful. Same with the pharmacy. I forgot to re-order one of my dad's prescriptions and they got it to me by the NEXT day. The VA isn't perfect, but I feel like they really care about their veterans and their health.

I have nothing but good things to say about this VA Clinic location. The staff are friendly, helpful and service is always very professional and prompt. I enjoyed meeting Dr Coker today. He is friendly, kind and listens to what you have to say. I transferred my care here from that train wreck Rainbow City location. MUCH happier here!

People of tangu my intake date was 7/28/2025 I came broken and hopeless but over time I met sum amazing people I was addicted to meth I fought that demon for eight years of my life but many things I can say about tangu is they brought me in like family and treated me like family Ik it might be hard sometimes ik it might be scary but I trusted the staff at tangu recovery I feel like I was the worst of the worst but they really try there best too help people about a month in I wanted too leave and never come back but overtime I felt like family more and more everyday did I work my program a lot no I didn’t but did I get treated like family too them when I didn’t even know them I love all the staff there and the people yeah it might feel weird at first new people new place but it works it really does I have come along way since my first day since tangu three months might be long it might be hard but I honestly can say tangu had helped every step of the way I would not be in the position today I am without tangu not giving up on me so if you want a new way of life and looking for people you can trust and be there for you try tangu out and Guarantee you from a meth addict that struggled with addiction for eight years that’s now 127 sober that this program actually works I love you all and the new comers coming in it works you just have too trust the process

I have had clients go through the Extension and I have volunteered serving meals there. I read the post about it being racially biased but I have never witnessed anything or heard any other complaint like that. I would not hesitate to have one of my minority clients go through their program. It is all about and all for the residents to build a better life.

This is a clean clinic and has many great qualities that can very much help your road to sobriety! However,the main issue here is the CONSTANT councilor change! As soon as one gets comfortable with their counselor, they leave. It is such piece of mind to build a relationship with your councilor and the nurses, just so you can have that report and someone that knows you and can be in your corner if ever needed. There are alot of patients that are not there for the right reasons, then there are also alot of patients that ARE there for the right reasons. The constant change certainly does not give one peace of mind. Familiar faces change places. I can not help but think its the higher ups not doing what is necessary to keep them happy in their workplace. Its sad really! Seeing consistency is very important, especially for addicts working on their road to recovery!
Otherwise I do believe this is a good place that has alot to offer addiction recovery for the ones who truly want it!

If the Recovery services that are offered by this center are needed, I can't think of a better place to go! Woodstock treatment center has professional Counselors that are non-judgemental, kind and empathetic, (shout out to Lindsay!) developing a plan of care tailored to the individual's needs so recovery though painful is attainable. As a bonus it is affordable even if you do not have insurance. The only negative is lack of parking.
I love the staff. Very professional and friendly. The staff greet me with a smile and call me by my name.
I absolutely love my doctor and therapist! I know that they are genuinely concerned about my mental health.

My fiancé currently does not have insurance and is unemployed at this time. I called Pathways on Monday and asked if they saw patients without insurance and the girl, her name was Ashley I believe, was very helpful and let me know that they do see patients without insurance and walked me through how to get him in. We went to the Department of Labor on Monday and got his income verification, then went to Pathways Tuesday morning early as a walk-in because that’s what you have to do to be seen for free. We got lucky and he was seen within 30 minutes of getting there! Every person that works there was pleasant and friendly. The staff at the front were friendly to every patient that came in, and they actually seemed to enjoy their jobs, and truly care about making sure patients got the help they need. I heard them communicate with people over the phone as well, and they were friendly and helpful. I have a lot of experience with doctor’s offices, and worked in many myself, and it is refreshing to be greeted by friendly, helpful, non- judgmental staff. Thank you SO much for your help today, you have no idea how much it means to me personally, but to my fiancé as well. 🙏🏻

Absolutely LOVE my doctor an therapist. If you need a good therapist an doctor therapist I HIGHLY recommend Deanna an doctor Knight-Nelson. Both of them work with you an don’t judge you at all. The staff in general is professional an really nice. I travel an almost an hour an honestly it’s worth the drive !!!!

I had my first appointment today. I could not be more pleased with how much the staff cares about my mental health. From the receptionist, to the nurse, to the nurse practitioner, they were all fantastic, pleasant, informative and really seemed to want to see me get the help I need to live a normal life.
