When I made the ultimate decision to admit myself to this facility, I was greatest decision I've ever made in my life. It was a wonderful journey and a great experience. I learned so much about recovery, I learned so much about myself. They gave me all the tools, information, coping skills to manage myself with my addiction to stay clean and sober.
I am forever thankful and grateful to the entire staff for believing in me, and not giving up on me when I didn't believed myself and for also giving me a new lease on life to be the best of version myself so I can live the life I am supposed to live.

I normally don’t do these but I was so impressed with the services I received from Dr. Caldwell at Advantage. He was more concerned about finding out the truth and getting to the root of the problem than anything else. He wasn't trying to push medication on me or bill the insurance. He was more concerned with my health than anything. Would have given him 10 stars if it were an option. But the whole center in itself was a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for mental health needs!!

This place saved my life. It’s not the easiest program in the world but if you want to disconnect from the world and really start over with yourself and do better, this is the place to go. No phones no Internet no connection to the outside world except for snail mail, which sounds terrible and it does take some getting used to but, that's what I had to do to get my mind focused on recovery instead of worrying about everything else. If I ever get back in a tough spot and don't know where to go I can always call this place and they'll find me a bed if I'm serious about it. I thrive there and I’ve met some great guys in the program I’m still friends with.

This is definitely the place you want to go to for help to get sober. Everyone is always friendly. Yes I have changed counslers a couple of times but they have all been very friendly, caring and respectful. They are never crowded and you are usually in and out in a timely manner for pick up's.

Thomson office stopped carrying private insurance of any kind then charged me $500 to sit in the waiting room for one hour after my appointment(I got there 15 minutes before the appointment) and then asked me about 10 questions and sent me on my merry way with a refill.

I cant speak for other people but im sad lakebridge behavioral health is closing because they worked to help so many people. I was admitted to the acute unit in aug 2015 and then somtime in 2016. The staff was always making sure everyone was safe and as comfortable as possible.I have been to other facilities like this in Georgia and none of them were any help to me or any good other than Lakebridge . The staff was also very professional .. If they were still open i would 100% recommend them to anyone seeking behavioral treatment in Georgia. Great place in the 7 weeks there I never got up and regretted going to the meeting. After 4 or 5 failed attempts to stop abusing alcohol I wound up at MARR. The day after my 50th birthday. I was extremely upset and disappointed with myself. But something told me that I belonged there. And I made the best decision of my life. To stay there.
I stayed for the mandatory 3 months and then an extra four more.
Not only did I learn to stop drinking and live life without alcohol, but I leather be an adult. To ask for help. And most importantly I learned that I was not alone in my life or my journey.

My time at MARR has fundamentally changed my life. I have a strong foundation in sobriety, many coping tools in my toolbox and a large network of sober men and women who I will forever call friends. I especially love the Professionals Program (ARP) where I participated in Mirror Image classes, working with peers who had overcome their addiction and achieved the life I wanted to be living. I really appreciate the workers at this hospital. They are kind, accomodating and respectful. I didn't feel condescended to, nor treated like less of a human being. I felt that the workers set a tone of respect and dignity and support on the unit. The groups were awesome and very well facilitated. I felt like they weren't just there for a paycheck, that they actually cared about doing a good job. I would definitely go back there if I ever need mental health inpatient care.

It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. That was a necessity for me as an autistic person, in order to prevent overwhelm and truly feel safe. Therapy groups could be stressful, but I wasn't forced to attend which I really appreciate. When life feels so out of control, small things like that can go a long way

I came to this center after a traumatic experience. These people made me whole again. I cannot say how much this place meant to me the 4 months I was there. Caring nurses, wonderful doctors and a cook who knew how to make hospital food palatable. I cannot recommend this place more!

I have been going here since 2012, because I choose too. You don't have to go as long as myself, you go AT YOUR OWN PACE, WHATEVER IS BEST FOR YOU. My counselor Lisa is awesome. A great place,staff and wonderful doctor and I couldn’t ask for anything more, the doctor, counselor, receptionist, nurse, and anyone else I’ve forgotten (but not really forgotten !) make this place more welcoming than I can express …. They are more kind and considerate than you could possibly imagine and I would recommend this facility to anybody wanting to make a change and change directions, in your own crossroad. John my therapist helped me so much! Getting me to finally accept my mother’s death was hard, but I finally did get through it because of him! Amazing therapist! I want to add the entire team of BHT’s. They did so much for me! Andrew’s, Thomas, Kendra, Marvala, Sharla, Andre, Joe, Lorenzo, and Erica! My intake was done by Tamara who was also so amazing! Best food I’ve eaten in a while! Shout out to Miss Monica and I hate that I don’t remember the other chef but his food was also so amazing. King Dre! You are the man! I have always been treated with respect and have had wonderful care at the Shepherd Center.
Everyone is very knowledgeable and listen to any concerns or questions I may have.
Having PPS it is important to me that most everyone is knowledgeable about Polio and PPS and how it can affect my life.
I love the accessibility at Shepherd and wish everyone would realize how important accessibility is to someone who uses a power chair and everyone who uses other tools for life for their disability.
