Only bad things is Not in the greatest of locations.
Fairly clean it’s in an old building and again not the greatest location so there was some less desirable 6 legged visitors. 😬 but given location and age of the building it’s to be expected.
The staff there is amazing!
Dionne, Iesha, Angela, Cynthia, Tyler and many more that I can’t remember everyone’s name was very kind showed tough love when needed and compassion when needed.
The doctor I saw was caring friendly professional and yet she had a sense of humor which is good when dealing the emotionally, mentally, and spiritually fragile people.
While this place is not Christian based the Holy Spirit did settle in the halls as myself and other patients would sing and read scriptures.
(This was patient lead not staff lead)
I do feel my stay there was longer than I actually needed the doctors, nurses, and counselors agreed on this idea turns out it was an insurance issue.
So I looked at it for the days I was there was a reset to my restart. And shared my faith with anyone who cared to listen.
The medicine and professionals can only do so much it’s really up to you to do the work they suggest. What you put in is what you will get out.
Upon my departure the staff and other patients hugged me and few in tears as they didn’t want me to leave because from what one of the counselors told me I helped many patients on my side of the wing and encouraged me to go back to school and get my counseling certificate and she along with 3 other employees told me I need to write a book about my life. While yes I had a minor set back having to go here after my nervous melt down. With everything I have walked through in my life I have a good firm foundation. And they encouraged me to do something more with my life as I have love for people full of compassion and because, well truth be told I walked through many fires.
It’s just I needed to reset to restart and this place gave me just that!
So shout out to the best ladies and gentlemen I have ever had the honor to meet!
Oh yeah one more thing the food is not like hospital food! It was so good! Really an entire family works in the kitchen and it’s good down home cooking!
I gained 10lbs while there. Thanks a lot for that! 😂
In all seriousness Thank you to the staff for helping me in my hour of need!

I just got released from this facility today. As there are multiple halls, I can only speak on brown hall. First ms. Deb the counselor was wonderful, the counselors are energetic. I will say the weekday staff compared to the weekend staff felt like whiplash. During the week they are very attentive and considerate to each person maybe due to staffing but on weekends, we were treated more like children and almost always went unheard and we would act like they treated us. Overall thanks to the weekday staff, I had a great stay and made good progress mentally during my stay. And scheduling and the food, THE FOOD omg it was plentiful and immaculate. The scheduling is very smoker friendly. If I ever have to get commited again, this is where I would go. We were very spoiled while learning to cope with our issues. It made everything digestible especially for someone with bipolar and severe people anxiety like myself.

I entered CADA March 30, 2017, I was completely out of hope, and full of despair, the only solution I thought I had was suicide. My drinking, and drug use took me to a place of desperation. I could not stay sober, but I could not quit using. I went 20 plus years of suffering. The only coping mechanism I had, for every emotion, was to change the was I felt with drugs, and alcohol. When I was sad, I used, when I was happy, I used. My life revolved around when I would get my next bottle, or find my next high. I lied, cheated, and stole, whatever it took to get my drug of choice. I destroyed my family, and friends. I was like a hurricane in people I loved lives. I saw only darkness.
In CADA, I learned tools, coping mechanisms, of how to deal with life, on life's terms, without alcohol, and drugs. I gained a new sense of self worth. I started to recover from a disease that had already taken so many I loved, including my mother.
CADA took another chance on me 6 months into my recovery. I was hired as part of the support staff. I continued to learn and grow, in the place that saved my life. Three, and half years later, I am now part of the Peer Support Team, giving back, what was given to me.
One of my favorite quotes is, "It is always darkest before the dawn." CADA gave me my dawn.

CADA offers a treatment solution for almost anyone! It is affordable and very comprehensive in its therapy. My favorite programs at CADA are the adolescent treatment facility, which includes a full time teacher, and the Family program. Women who are pregnant, or have children are welcomed in the family hall. Their children attend public school. Infants and toddlers are cared for while the ladies participate in their groups or counseling sessions. CADA has been a LIFESAVER for hundreds of recovering people!

I had previously went for the suboxone treatment a long time ago in the past. Sadly it's wasn't a choice I made for myself.
Now that I'm currently taking the treatment again and this time because I personally hit my rock bottom, I go to my therapy sessions anytime I can and listen as well as talk and those sessions have greatly helped me deal with my problems I have that pertains to my addiction. The Dr. Is always been kind and respectful and helpful towards me.
I can say that every person that works there has a heart of gold because they don't have to care about any of us, yet they choose to. That shows amd tells me it's more that just a job to them it's actually a calling to be there for us. I have to update my review just to say I can honestly say I feel better about life, myself, belief in myself and many other stones that gor in my way for so many years . I’ve been in several IP facilities from Tyler, TX to Webster Groves, MO, & this was the best staff I have ever had.
The techs were caring, & would listen. They’d have casual conversations when times were slow! Nesha, Mimi, Rachel (who was also a great nurse), & above ALL else Breunna seemed to really care about us. There’s more than just them, too!
The nurses actually seemed to want to better us. Melinda was very educated & taught me something about myself. The newest nurse, Kimberly, was tremendous!
Believe or not… the food was actually really yummy!
More protein & fibre/veg would be great, but I get it. A medium-sized tasty is better than an XL nasty.
My biggest gripes:
- Dr. Bella
He’s apparently infamous around the facility 👀🫠
As someone who has been seeing every specialist under the sun… this man is a menace lol. Absolutely the rudest doctor I’ve ever encountered.
An actual conversation on my second day:
Bella: are you depressed?
Me: believe it or not, no! I love my life, my family, & my job. I do get overwhelmed, but I’m never really depressed in like, a decade!! :)
Bella: so I’m going to put you on something for depression.
Me: ok… but respectfully, may I ask why?
Bella: because you’re depressed.
Me: …I don’t want to be obstinate but I’m… really not depressed. Anxious? Tightly-wound? High-strung? Yes, haha!! :D But I love my life & I don’t want to be on antidepressants!
Bella: well, you’re depressed. Have you ever been on Zoloft?
Me: oh, gosh, yes.. I’ve been on all the anti-depressants & more & Zoloft is the worst!
Bella: what about lexapro?
Me: yes, sir. & Effexor, & prozac, & lexapro, & even lamictal, paxil—
Bella: have you taken Wellbutrin?
Me: yes, sir. The last psych meds I was on was actually Prozac & Wellbutrin for—
Bella: have you been on remeron?
Me: no, sir??
Bella: *talking to nurse* start her on xx milligrams of remeron…
Me: & what is this for again?
Bella: depression.
Me: ………ok. I mean, I don’t want to come across as unwilling to cooperate..
Bella: *suddenly & awkwardly ends session*
You’re scared to have a real conversation with anyone, ESPECIALLY the doctor who has your fate in his hands.
But…
The med worked! Ha!
HOWEVER! When it was day 5 of my stay, I asked when a possible date might be for my discharge. He told me he would “talk to my social worker”.
Who’s that? I know everyone… who’s this mysterious social worker??
The next day, I met with him. “All’s well!” I exclaimed. As i
I had been reporting. “I’m wondering if leaving this evening instead of tomorrow morning [which would be day 8] would be possible?”
To which he answered: “let me talk with your social worker & see.”
What?! Again?!!
Lo & behold, my “social worker” was anyone who doesn’t have their MD. Therapists, mostly. He, alone, had the power to discharge me.
Not a fan of adults who lie. Yikes. Grow up.
In short: he’s a doctor who prescribed me a med that worked after I told him “no” to like 6 other pills, he didn’t listen when I told him “I’m not depressed”, & it appears he’s not willing to accept accountability when a patient asks a direct question.
1/10 do not recommend
NEXT GRIPE:
- You do nothing there.
If you’re lucky, you watch 4 movies in a day.
Day 4, someone deigned to leave a deck of cards for us (since there are no books, pens, or notebooks in the unit, I was shocked but excited!!)
So… I played solitaire about 2-4 hours a day.
Yay!
Finally something other than lying down or watching random movies.
(In all fairness, I watched a few great ones!)
I have been to facilities where— at minimum— there is group therapy a couple times a week. Unfortunately, we basically had a therapist on a Saturday telling us how we need to “start with you” to “be more organised” (I think? I don’t remember).
______
But…
I’ve paid too many thousands of dollars for treatment that clearly didn’t work for my mental health in the past.
However… I weirdly enjoyed this.
Thank you, staff.
I saw the craziest stuff & the most mentally unwell people of my life in the last 8 days.
But I wouldn’t have done it anywhere else.

The best! Compassionate, professional, and experienced. I have been receiving mental health and substance abuse services since 2015 from at least 7 different places in the area. Louisiana is ranked 33rd nationwide in terms of addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $56,822.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Louisiana vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of the treatment types listed above. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Louisiana. Most treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Louisiana that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options.
