I am extremely grateful for Alissa, Dr Findley, Naomi, Barbara, and Troy, along with many others who simply listened to my thoughts and safely detoxed my father off of the UMass Marlboro ER mistakes in their documents that inaccurately recorded wrong medication s and dosages. Alissa works with family and case management, Dr Findley is a key psychiatrist , Naomi is a forefront at admissions with a welcoming voice, and Barbara and Troy are part of healthcare nursing team. I mean like other people say, detox kind of sucks in general. It isn't supposed to be a relaxing spa retreat. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They are the best. I have been a few times unfortunately, but haven't had a bad experience. I always feel safe. Its a comfortable and relaxing vibe all around. The morning groups can be a little preachy and pushy on views for my liking, but the afternoon groups are good. I find it really helpful to be around, and hear from, others going through the same thing as you. The food is amazing!! You will definitely not go hungry. There is also a lot of freedom for a detox. You can always spend time outside which is really nice. I always leave feeling beter and having a positive outlook. Martha, the program director with her hand-picked staff identify with the residents because they know what we're going through. Most, if not more are graduates of the house themselves. They help you face addiction head on, accept it, cope with it so you can heal. There's something magical about the place and Gosnold would be wise to remember that. It's not uncommon for former graduates to request a visit to remember how Miller House helped them recover and stabilize their lives to become contributing members of society. I mean like other people say, detox kind of sucks in general. It isn't supposed to be a relaxing spa retreat. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They are the best. I have been a few times unfortunately, but haven't had a bad experience. I always feel safe. Its a comfortable and relaxing vibe all around. The morning groups can be a little preachy and pushy on views for my liking, but the afternoon groups are good. I find it really helpful to be around, and hear from, others going through the same thing as you. The food is amazing!! You will definitely not go hungry. There is also a lot of freedom for a detox. You can always spend time outside which is really nice. I always leave feeling beter and having a positive outlook. People can say they didn't get help or didn't get sober but its not because of sstar its because you didn't do the work to stay sober. this place has kept me alive through the years when I needed to get off the streets or was sick begging for help. I always got accepted no matter if I wanted to get sober and stay sober or not! the one time I put all the work listened to all the suggestions let someone else run the show ive been sober since. Going on 7 years. you can complain about the staff and whatever other excuses u want but it comes down to either you want to get better and will do anything you can to do that or your probably going to use or drink again. parents this place didn't fail your child your child didn't do the work but don't give up it took me 15 years in and out 154 detoxes endless sober houses two times dying to finally be willing to do whatever it took to stay sober. I had a rough time in 2013 because I was getting bullied by my former classmates, I went insane and then I got myself sent to Bradley Hospital. 13 years later... I got my own YouTube channel, my own job, my own apartment and stuff that I always wanted on my bucket list. I'm building my own future and working on my goals/dreams. I learned that in life it's better to be on your own. Because this world is too evil for people to understand our feelings.
