It feels dramatic to say Gosnold saved my life, but it helped me get started. I have been to many detoxes in the last year, and not one compared even remotely to Gosnold. My time there was efficient, I was respected and I had zero complaints. The staff were phenomenal and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Saved my life. Not your typical recovery house. Martha, the program director with her hand-picked staff identify with the residents because they know what we're going through. Most, if not more are graduates of the house themselves. They help you face addiction head on, accept it, cope with it so you can heal. There's something magical about the place and Gosnold would be wise to remember that. It's not uncommon for former graduates to request a visit to remember how Miller House helped them recover and stabilize their lives to become contributing members of society. Falmouth Human Services was recommended to me by Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands (another standout agency - go Courtney Alves) to help me with a housing conundrum. To say they were helpful would be the understatement of the century. Professional yet friendly...dare I say "warm"? The atmosphere is inviting, not at all what I expected of a municipal agency and the people, all of them, were just plain friggin nice. And I would be remiss if I neglected to mention Ms. Helen Malina. Helen is now my Case Manager (sorry Helen) and I know I'm in good hands. This agency is a gold mine of help for a plethora of different issues and I would urge anyone who feels like they have no place to turn to give them a shout: they are (all) wonderful.
