7.56 / 10 | Gould Farm is located in Monterey, Massachusetts. They've been helping individuals with mental health challenges for more than a hundred years. Adults who are struggling with issues such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and other mental health conditions that interfere with quality of life on a daily basis. This is | Treatments Programs Payment Options | There is so much space to move around so other guests generally keep to themselves and there is little drama. My only complaint is that some of the lower-level staff (namely Beth, Nathan, Michael) are rude and think they have power over the guests. But the more important staff members (intake, doctors, directors) are extremely kind and professional. You will not find this same level of care from the upper-staff at Spring Lake Ranch.

As a child of parents who worked at Gould Farm in the 1970s-1980s, I can attest to its trusting, fun, and purposeful community setting. I never distinguished between staff and guests because we were all just neighbors, friends, community members. The more I experience the world, the more I appreciate my childhood at Gould Farm!

I had the privilege of working with Mario Cocozza as my recovery coach, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Mario meets you where you are — no judgment, no scripts, just genuine care and real accountability. He checked in consistently, celebrated the wins, and helped me stay grounded through big life transitions.
What sets Mario apart is that he actually walks alongside you; he’s invested in your success as a person, not just a client. My recovery is stronger because of the work we did together. If you’re considering Mountainside and get the chance to work with Mario, take it.

Mario has been my sober coach for a couple months now and has been a great influence on my sobriety. Between months 7 and 8 I came close to a relapse and soon thereafter he became my sober coach. He carried me thru some very difficult times, losing both my grandparents in the span of two days, alongside a breakup and he was there to support me thru it the whole way. Checking in on me has been incredibly helpful. Encouraging me to go to AA meetings regularly, helping me get employment. He is truly dedicated to helping other people stay sober and it’s very clear he’s passionate about what he does. He always makes you feel seen, heard, validated and understood. I’ve never once felt judged or shamed by him, even when I was struggling. He truly understands what we’re going thru and it shows that he cares about his clients immensely.

I've posted a few comments what's important is that the program works they now let u smoke bud also something alot of us worried about for take-homes but things WILL NOT always go your way I guess my advice to myself and others is simply keep going even if it gets rough and feels hard keep going even if you know your clean and a test says otherwise false positives or whatever they might be, just know that in the long run it is saving your life!!

My husband, Isiah was referred to Sharon Hospital after suffering a pretty severe finger fracture that required surgery. We were referred to Dr. Clark, and from the very beginning, the entire process was incredibly smooth. We saw the doctor, and by the very next day, surgery was already scheduled.
Dr. Clark is truly exceptional. He is kind, respectful, confident, compassionate, and took the time to make us feel comfortable every step of the way. Trusting someone to perform surgery is never easy, no matter how routine the procedure may be, but we immediately felt that Isiah was in excellent hands.
I also want to recognize the amazing staff who made this experience so positive. A heartfelt thank you to Jessica, Jill, Amy, and Wendy. Every single one of you went above and beyond. You were friendly, caring, patient, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. It meant so much to us to be treated with such kindness during a stressful time.
It's refreshing to see that there are still healthcare professionals who truly care about their patients. We are so grateful to Dr. Clark and the entire team for making us feel supported, informed, and comfortable throughout the entire process.
Thank you all for your outstanding care. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Phenomenal. Professional, personal, tailor-made individualistic programming. Very much a family atmosphere. Once you settle in, you will never want to leave. If I could live at Eden Hill, I would do it in a heartbeat.
The term “staff” doesn’t adequately do justice to the Team of people who run and work at , Eden Hill in all capacities. They are personable, accommodating in anyway possible and loving. It is not possible to leave Eden Hill without feeling like your family has gained a few unofficial members.
The accommodations are fabulous and newly renovated. Therapeutic communal living helped me to increase individual personal responsibility while at the same time learning to live with and compromise (perhaps for the first time) With my housemates. The clients form a bond that is therapeutic and supportive. We learn to hold each other accountable for their actions in recovery and other communal living issues in a kind and, if necessary, mediated way.
Some of the tools I left with we’re effective communication, the development and use of boundaries, healthy confrontation (or “care-frontation”) and how to be a part of the solution instead of the problem. Most importantly I learned humility. I learned the world does not revolve around me and that to be successful in recovery and life, I need a support network which required working on my relationship skills.
My circumstances did not allow me to participate in the family recovery events; however, I witnessed my peers and their families participate with what appeared to be excellent results.
The Town-of Canaan is small, safe, charming, and has a large recovery network suitable for all ages. I have known many people that have gone through Mountainside treatment center in Canaan and then followed treatment at the extended care facility of Eden Hill Recovery Retreat in Canaan that have decided to remain in the area due to the Active and varied recovery community. Additionally, many of these individuals are still clean and sober and moving on with their lives. I myself am considering relocating to the Canaan area at some point in the near future for the above stated reasons.
I cannot recommend this place more highly. Eden Hill is like a second home to me which I will forever remember as a very necessary, nurturing, and healing time. I have met some of the most wonderful, loving women in situations much the same as my own that I will forever treasure as sisters and friends On a journey you couldn’t possibly understand unless you’ve been on it too.

This private treatment center provides compassionate care for adults battling substance use disorder, mental health conditions and dual diagnosis. You’ll benefit from a tranquil space to step away from daily life and focus solely on recovery. T | Payment Options | I went to this place about 10 times periodically over three years. I spoke there last night and I was astounded to find out that there were only seven people at the rehab facility. I was in complete shock. I got a little bit of a rundown of the situation on overview and it sounded to me as if the investors perhaps in fighting cost got out of control. Something happened in the rehab facility for them to stop taking clients and people in need for rehab services in detox. I was there about nine months ago and there was clearly about. And to go from that number to seven, the fear of running a ground is real You can’t forget the customer and I know what a complicated world now with Insurance and all that kind of stuff but it was a great place and it is a great place but like the alcoholic world you reach the bottom there’s nothing to go up. That’s kind of how I felt after I spoke and spoke to a couple people that Swift River is now at the bottom you gotta reinvent yourself. Wow, you have not that many people there is ample time to regroup fix the place up put some money into it higher the good people that we let go that were very passionate and compassionate people and helping people get to sobriety, but that seems to be an issue at play at the moment It’s all good From May 28 to June 23 really wrecked a great institution, but everything happens for a reason

I was suggested Riggs after being turned down from numerous hospitals and programs for having “too complex of a case.” Over the course of 8 months, I learned about myself and my impact on others in ways I had never before. My cohort of people who were admitted around the same time was very supportive, and we still keep in touch today, but I can definitely see how if the community isn’t a fit then Riggs won’t be a fit. Sure there was drama (some more serious than others), but you have to remember that you’re living in a large community of people with trauma and complicated mental health struggles.
The only major downside is how expensive it is. I was extremely lucky that my insurance covered about 60% of my treatment, but I felt guilty the entire time I was there about how much my family was investing into me financially. The cost is widely talked about in group sessions and is commonly a major stressor for people, distracting from what brought them in in the first place.
It’s now been almost a year since I left and my life is on a trajectory I never thought was possible. I am clean and sober, haven’t had a mental health crisis since leaving, and no longer fit a significant amount of diagnostic criteria for what I was diagnosed with. Making the commitment to treatment saved my life❤️

I'm not sure were to start. Besides having a wonderful family, friends and a few staff at Soldier On to help (really above and beyond) me in my recovery (still have a little more to do)
The staff at Hillcrest Commons are just the most caring group of people. I wish I could put their names down individually but I can't thank you all enough.
From the RNs, LPNs, Aids, PT/OT, Kitchen crew, Cleaners, Social Workers, Maintenance, Laundry and I'm sure I'm missing some others but what a good team. All shifts work pretty darn well together. I like that they hear your concerns and if they don't have the answer, they will try and find it. Thank you.
4.85 🌟 out of 5 🌟 Hillcrest
10.0 🌟 out of 5 🌟 Family
I would recommend Hillcrest Commons Rehabilitation for those who need it.
