My experience at The Washburn House in Worcester is something I will always be grateful for. ❤️ Going through detox and CSS was not an easy journey, but the staff were there for me during some of the hardest moments. Their kindness, patience, support, and encouragement helped me feel that I was not alone. They treated me with compassion and respect and helped me take things one day at a time. I truly appreciate every staff member who took the time to listen, encourage me, and believe in me when I was struggling to believe in myself. The support I received gave me the strength and hope to keep moving forward in my recovery. I know recovery is a journey, and I still have work to do, but I am leaving with lessons, memories, and gratitude that I will carry with me. I've been at Merrick Street for nearly a year, and my experince has been truly amazing. Spectrum staff members are caring, well-educated and passionate about helping each client on an individual basis. The level of care far exceeds that of other programs. I started my 'journey' at Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and (apart from my clinician -- who was amazing!), it felt like conveyor-belt-style care. Now, that was a 2-hour round-trip commute every morning, but Information about Spectrum (20 minutes away) was hidden from me (despite my inquiries) for months because it was a separate organization and they likely didn't want to lose me as a paycheck -- I mean patient. Spectrum is the total opposite. It has changed my life. I wasted years fearing a program, and the stigma attached. But I realized-- since I was already dealing with the stigma of having fibromyalgia and chronic pain, it made no difference, and I needed to try -- for me. Since entering, I have met so many incredible people, shared and heard many incredible stories, and in a way, I am proud to be part of something so positive.

Overall, this is one of the nicest mental health facilities you can go to. The facility itself is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The staff and therapists truly care about their work and are generally very solid and helpful once you get to connect with them. However, the program isn't as intensive as some might need — I only saw my therapist twice in a two-week span, including intake. Organizationally, things can sometimes fall through the cracks (like belongings, medication, and laundry). Your experience will also heavily depend on the other residents, which can be a wild card. Despite a few operational hiccups, the caring nature of the staff and the quality of the environment make it a solid choice for treatment.

I’ve been to many treatment centers and I was nervous to try a new program and I’m glad I chose to try Blue Hills Recovery. There are not many programs that have both clinical and housing and to have this option and opportunity stepping down from a residential facility was extremely helpful and necessary. From the BHTs at housing to the group facilitators, therapists, program director, and clinical director at clinical were extremely empathetic, compassionate, and helpful. I chose Blue Hills Recovery because they specialize in trauma work and they provided the space and care I needed to start that work. I am specifically grateful for the clinical director Jodi and program director Ashley who went above and beyond to provide the space, care, support, and help I needed when I was struggling; they truly cared about my recovery and overall well-being. I cannot say enough good things about the lead doctor here Dr. B he is amazing and so kind and understanding. I’ve been on many different clinics and I’ve never been treated in such a humanizing way by a doctor. The clinic is good and I’ve never had any problems with the nursing or any of the staff.

The Hospital which saved my child and family. We were so relieved to have our daughter be brought here after her miserable stay in the small room without any window at CCMC. Natchaug Hospital staff have such great affection for what they do. They are compassionate with patients which make relatives happy and rest assured that their family member is in safe hands. From the doctors, therapist, nurses and patient care assistants are all very respectful. I really admired the staff for their excellent work they do everyday. We had the opportunity to speak with our child whenever we wanted. I didn’t hear anyone disrespecting a child or belittling anyone. The staff understood that the children are not in their normal state of mind which means their attentiveness was always required. Thanks everyone for helping our daughter and family.

So at first I was very nervous about having my adolescent child here after reading reviews! So much so I drove up in middle of the night when he first arrived. Because I needed to lay eyes on him, and get a feel for the facility. It’s a very clean comfortable environment. The entire staff was so attentive to him his entire stay!! I was able to call anytime and speak to him he was able to call home as often as he needed!! The doctors nurses and mental health workers were AMAZING!!!! I was impressed with how well trained they are with working with people that are having a hard time! They were very patient with my son, and kept me very informed with exactly every thing going on with him! The Pscyh doctors know there stuff!! You are great hands here, trust the process! even my son felt he received the best care! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

The place saved my life and gave me the opportunity to stop and take 6 months and do what I had to live a new way. I fell down a few times after leaving but Nov 8 will be 6 years clean and I owe alot to the Channing House and my Channing Brothers. RIP JUSTIN

Channing House, which is a Halfway House now operated by Advocates, is probably the most successful men's substance abuse house in Worcester County and probably one of the 5 best or most successful programs in Massachusetts. It is a fully accredited 6 month substance abuse residential program. However, they let me stay for 8 1/2 months because the staff agreed with me that I wasn't ready yet. I've been to well over 25 halfway houses and at least 15 different sober houses...and Channing House is by far the best and most successful program in Worcester County.

Since I started going here about 4 years ago I got a great therapist named Justin Mertz. We hit it off on day one and had a great professional relationship up to his untimely death. I was assigned a new therapist named Lindsay Fox. Her and I hit it off great. Lindsay and I are working hard on my care just like I had with Justin. We do a 50/50 conversation. Also I had very good interactions with the Nurse Practitioners at New Beginnings. They all are great and good resources for psychiatric medications. Thank you all at New Beginnings. Top notch birthing center drs and staff and obgyn drs/staff! After a not so great experience with another hospital/ birthing center/ obgyn in connecticut with my last pregnancy i was on the search for a new obgyn and place to deliver my next baby once I found out I was expecting. After getting referred to day kimball by my co-workers and boss saying nothing but good things about the birthing center and drs working at the obgyn I decided to give them a chance and it the best choice I made! From day one last fall they were wonderful. Living over an hour awayand working a not so consistant schedule being a construction worker in a trade they were super accommodating with my appointment scheduling throughout my entire pregnancy. Also having a previous high risk delivery they made sure to keep tabs on me and my baby very thoroughly throughout the entire pregnancy. When I came in to deliver they were prepared for any scenario knowing it could possibly go bad quickly. It did take a dangerous turn right after delivery and they were on top of it immediately making sure I had the care, support, and supplies needed. I have never been more thankful than I was for the entire staff that was on shift the night of my delivery. They kept calm and did their jobs to keep me and my family safe and as relaxed as possible. From the ob drs and staff, high rish drs and staff,birthing center nurses and staff, anesthesiologists , to the evs staff and kitchen staff id say Day Kimball was the perfect choice for me and my family this time!

this program saved my life 2 years ago. if i hadn’t gone here, i would’ve not seen any reasoning to getting sober/clean. i cannot say enough amazing things about MYR. the staff are all very understanding and helpful with everything as they are also most in recovery. they are very kind and the structure with events that are done is amazing. i have such incredible memories here and absolutely phenomenal people i was able to meet and create friendships with outside of MYR. i wish some of the staff could see me now! i am not the same person i was going in there and they are to thank for that. i personally, Cheyanne Benoit, thank the staff from December of 2022. you made my life worth living and showed me a reason and coping mechanisms and how to use them. without you, i wouldn’t have the amazing little boy i do now or the family i am a part of. i cannot commend you enough. you helped me more than you know. <3 (photos of me and my boy) i wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for this program or these people. if any of you happen to see this, this is us now. thank you for helping me achieve my dream of being sober, clean, and i finally was able to become a mother quickly after leaving the program, which is all i’ve ever wanted.

Hands down this program saved my child's life...... I could go on and on about all of the staff and how amazing they are very caring and professional ! I am an overbearing mom who needs to have the answers, I call. 10 times a day to check on my child.And never once did I ever feel like I was being pushed to the side because I can get annoying.... Which Is the best feeling ever because i'm trusting the care of my precious child To a bunch of strangers. Some of the reviews on here could be pretty scary for a parent trying to find their child some help.But I'm telling you from one parent to another.If it wasn't for this program I don't know where my daughter would be or us as a family.Thank you so much MYR For everything you've done for us and saving my child's life! Again if there's any parents out there questioning This program or it's treatment approach , please don't. Trust them they are amazing

*Update: It's now 2025 and there's has been a lot of changes at Worcester Arbour. New Director. My psychiatrist got an assistant, Nicole and she is amazing. Anytime I need anything she is on top of it. I'm with the same therapist and our relationship is getting more and more trusting. I encourage people to try this place out. Their partial hospitalization program is great for adults and adolescents. They are separate. Update, it's now 2023 and theres a new director for a couple of years now.I have to be honest and say this place has gone downhill. They barely offer groups and most of them are on Zoom which in my opinion is so impersonal. I switched my pharmacy for the first time in over 10 years and they haven't updated my chart so my psychiatrist sent my meds to the wrong pharmacy. This might not sound like a big deal but I use medminder a mailing service and all my meds come prepackaged by dose so having to pick up certain meds in a bottle and put them in each little container for a month or two defeats the purpose of having them prepackaged for me. If you're just looking for a therapist and not groups or a psychiatrist then you will probably be okay here but it you're like me and need more help than that you will be at a loss. My therapist is great so I won't leave but I thought they have declined enough update my review.

I'm not sure people understand the difficulties with making a program like this work. You have lots of mentally disabled people giving one star because they can't color the picture they want or couldn't speak with their med doc right this very second. Considering the constraints and low pay the clinicians go through to just try to help people, the added digital slaps aren't really necessary. I've had no issues and have had no complaints in dealing with Dan or the staff here.
