I just have to say this last year has been a struggle with my sobriety. But since I have completed their detox and rehab I have not had to go through another detox again. I then went through there IOP program which I highly recommend! When I graduated from that, I opted to do two of their 1 hour early recovery groups every week. I also meet with my clinician every 3 weeks. These services have made a huge difference in my recovery! I would highly recommend their programs to anyone struggling with chemical dependency no matter what the substance is. I really believe that they helped save my life this year. They have many services and programs like intensive outpatient treatment, outpatient detoxification, dialectical behavioral therapy, Family Support Services, Parenting Groups, individual groups, family counseling, and dual diagnosis counseling. Just to name a few. Adcare Outpatient substance use treatment allows you to attend rehab programs while still attending to your daily responsibilities. They changed my life. I came into this program as an older woman, scared and unsure of what to expect. This was my very first time in treatment, and after coming from an inpatient program where I honestly felt like I was treated more like an animal than a person, I didn’t know what I was walking into. From the first day, the staff and clients made me feel welcome and safe. I wasn’t seen as just a diagnosis here, I was seen as a human being. That meant everything to me. The groups were supportive, the staff truly cared, and I felt like my voice mattered. This program gave me hope and reminded me that healing is possible at any age. I’m grateful I came here and would recommend it to anyone who feels nervous about starting treatment.

I attended this IOP for dual diagnosis, and I can’t say enough good things. All the staff were incredible, from the director to the techs. The groups and therapists were supportive and truly helpful. I was there during a time when they were short-staffed, and they never missed a beat always making sure clients’ needs were met. Huge shoutout to Nick and Jodi, who really hold the place together and make it feel safe and welcoming. I’d recommend BHR to any family or friends struggling, this program truly makes a difference

Came off 170 mgs of methadone without any major problems. I slept, ate, and was overall content. Nursing and tech staff made the stay what it should be. I’m not really a taker but sometimes a smile from a random staff would get me out of the funk. They reduced my methadone 10mg a day from 170 until 20mg. I thought I would feel awful at 20 but the only problem I had was high blood pressure and sweating. All symptoms I could deal with. It’s detox! You’re not going to like everything about it!
Atlanta, Mark, Christine, Joe, JAMIE! No techs or nurses ever made me feel like I was a bother. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get off a substance. Especially methadone, in I feel 1000 times better without that crap in my body. I live in NJ, only one place would take my ins. The rest would only detox from methadone of a 30-40mg dose. Sunrise did not rush me and kept their word I wouldn’t receive surprise bills. They even didn’t bill me for things they should have. Shortly before I went there I was on a ventilator. I am Doing the work but this place helped get me across the line. If you complain here it’s your addiction talking. Has your addiction ever been correct with advice? Great place!

I've been at Merrick Street for nearly a year, and my experince has been truly amazing. Spectrum staff members are caring, well-educated and passionate about helping each client on an individual basis. The level of care far exceeds that of other programs. I started my 'journey' at Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and (apart from my clinician -- who was amazing!), it felt like conveyor-belt-style care. Now, that was a 2-hour round-trip commute every morning, but Information about Spectrum (20 minutes away) was hidden from me (despite my inquiries) for months because it was a separate organization and they likely didn't want to lose me as a paycheck -- I mean patient.
Spectrum is the total opposite. It has changed my life. I wasted years fearing a program, and the stigma attached. But I realized-- since I was already dealing with the stigma of having fibromyalgia and chronic pain, it made no difference, and I needed to try -- for me. Since entering, I have met so many incredible people, shared and heard many incredible stories, and in a way, I am proud to be part of something so positive.

I was a little nervous about going to a psych hospital that was an hour and a half from where I lived, but I have nothing to say but good things about this facility. The shrink wasn't the best, but the nurses and support staff were amazing. I spent a little over 2 weeks there, and it really helped. Not my preferred psych facility, but they really helped. So, if yr having trouble dealing with mental health, and in need of help, this place won't do you wrong. And the food was very good. Once they realized I was a vegetarian, I got great food. This place helps you put things into perspective. After my stay, I know I won't need to go anywhere else. They made me understand that I'm ok. And that's a feeling I haven't had in a while.

Channing House, which is a Halfway House now operated by Advocates, is probably the most successful men's substance abuse house in Worcester County and probably one of the 5 best or most successful programs in Massachusetts. It is a fully accredited 6 month substance abuse residential program. However, they let me stay for 8 1/2 months because the staff agreed with me that I wasn't ready yet. I've been to well over 25 halfway houses and at least 15 different sober houses...and Channing House is by far the best and most successful program in Worcester County.

Since I started going here about 4 years ago I got a great therapist named Justin Mertz. We hit it off on day one and had a great professional relationship up to his untimely death. I was assigned a new therapist named Lindsay Fox. Her and I hit it off great. Lindsay and I are working hard on my care just like I had with Justin. We do a 50/50 conversation. this program saved my life 2 years ago. if i hadn’t gone here, i would’ve not seen any reasoning to getting sober/clean. i cannot say enough amazing things about MYR. the staff are all very understanding and helpful with everything as they are also most in recovery. they are very kind and the structure with events that are done is amazing. i have such incredible memories here and absolutely phenomenal people i was able to meet and create friendships with outside of MYR. i wish some of the staff could see me now! i am not the same person i was going in there and they are to thank for that.
i personally, Cheyanne Benoit, thank the staff from December of 2022. you made my life worth living and showed me a reason and coping mechanisms and how to use them. without you, i wouldn’t have the amazing little boy i do now or the family i am a part of. i cannot commend you enough. you helped me more than you know. <3

Hands down this program saved my child's life...... I could go on and on about all of the staff and how amazing they are very caring and professional ! I am an overbearing mom who needs to have the answers, I call.
10 times a day to check on my child.And never once did I ever feel like I was being pushed to the side because I can get annoying.... Which Is the best feeling ever because i'm trusting the care of my precious child To a bunch of strangers. Some of the reviews on here could be pretty scary for a parent trying to find their child some help.But I'm telling you from one parent to another.If it wasn't for this program I don't know where my daughter would be or us as a family.Thank you so much MYR For everything you've done for us and saving my child's life! Again if there's any parents out there questioning This program or it's treatment approach , please don't. Trust them they are amazing

*Update: It's now 2025 and there's has been a lot of changes at Worcester Arbour. New Director. My psychiatrist got an assistant, Nicole and she is amazing. Anytime I need anything she is on top of it. I'm with the same therapist and our relationship is getting more and more trusting. I encourage people to try this place out. Their partial hospitalization program is great for adults and adolescents. They are separate.
Update, it's now 2023 and theres a new director for a couple of years now.I have to be honest and say this place has gone downhill. They barely offer groups and most of them are on Zoom which in my opinion is so impersonal. I switched my pharmacy for the first time in over 10 years and they haven't updated my chart so my psychiatrist sent my meds to the wrong pharmacy. This might not sound like a big deal but I use medminder a mailing service and all my meds come prepackaged by dose so having to pick up certain meds in a bottle and put them in each little container for a month or two defeats the purpose of having them prepackaged for me. If you're just looking for a therapist and not groups or a psychiatrist then you will probably be okay here but it you're like me and need more help than that you will be at a loss. My therapist is great so I won't leave but I thought they have declined enough update my review.

I'm not sure people understand the difficulties with making a program like this work. You have lots of mentally disabled people giving one star because they can't color the picture they want or couldn't speak with their med doc right this very second. Considering the constraints and low pay the clinicians go through to just try to help people, the added digital slaps aren't really necessary. I've had no issues and have had no complaints in dealing with Dan or the staff here.

Since I started going here about 4 years ago I got a great therapist named Justin Mertz. We hit it off on day one and had a great professional relationship up to his untimely death. I was assigned a new therapist named Lindsay Fox. Her and I hit it off great. Lindsay and I are working hard on my care just like I had with Justin. We do a 50/50 conversation. Also I had very good interactions with the Nurse Practitioners at New Beginnings. They all are great and good resources for psychiatric medications. Thank you all at New Beginnings.
