I've read past reviews and it's disheartening to hear given my time while short was beneficial. Yes the men's bathroom was atrocious but I dare you to make me one rehab facility that accepts medicaid insurance where the men's bathroom doesn't look bad. Sacred Heart for example is supposed to be the top tier for bottom insurance and the men there never flush leave their stuff all over it's like that especially in detox grown men don't know how to use proper hygene. But the staff went I was there a couple months ago were amazing friendly and funny especially Diamond she had me laughing a lot. The food is pretty good so I don't know what the one guy was complaining about mold. I've been to some of the best and worst rehabs and I can tell you it's what you put into it. If you are trouble you are gonna attract trouble or if you think you can just come in and coast and not participate then you won't get anything out of it. I had a bad relapse recently and unfortunately have to go back but I'm glad I'm going back to a place that has love and cares. Only negative thing I can say is what most would consider great is that they allow you to bring your personal cellphones in. Its great to listen to music and text family to passed the time but there is too much temptation to call or text the wrong people who could convince you to reconsider wanting to stay. Other than that I give this place a 5 and they do a lot with not having a lot of money

The detox facility takes people off the street 24/7, that’s an amazing thing. The detox nurses deal with a lot and do it with kindness, compassion, and composure. I am incredibly grateful for the rest they provided me that I was in desperate need of. If you are a person with the capacity to donate to a facility, this is the one. They are operating with limited resources.

I have been an outpatient at New Oakland Family Centers for approximately eight years. Following the loss of both parents within a span of five months eight years ago, and subsequently losing my fiancé to cancer a year later after a five-month diagnosis, my case necessitated placement in a psychiatric facility for two weeks on three separate occasions. At New Oakland, I began seeing a therapist, a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management, and a case manager. Throughout my interactions, I have found the staff, including the front desk personnel, my therapist, nurse practitioner, and case manager, to be consistently kind, compassionate, and professional. Although my condition improved significantly within a couple of years, I continue to receive support from New Oakland to this day. I appreciate the exceptional care I have received and extend my gratitude.

From the first phone call to the current therapy, I appreciate everything you have all done for us. The front desk gals always have a smile and are friendly and helpful. We also appreciate the ways they decorate the front to show they truly care!
Building maintenance on the other hand could be upgraded and your snow removal needs to be quicker knowing patients are coming in an out all day. Parents don't carry boots at all times!

The most amazing and caring staff on the planet!!! Big advantages are- you stay in their facility the entire time and always watched by a personal care giver and nurse. Other places make you get a hotel room and they don’t watch you. Advanced Detox also prescribes you all the meds you need to recover as quickly as possible. Some other places don’t do this. I got so much love for this place. From my initial late night phone call with RN Jeanne who reassured me that I was correct in refusing to get stuck on suboxone for 7oh dependence to meeting with Laura and then all the great nursing/patient care staff (especially Pat, with RT) as well as Dr. Aharonov, this place is the real deal. I don’t think I would have been able to get off 7oh any other way. The morning after the procedure was no walk in the park (fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, insomnia); but not having to suffer thru the intense body aches and pains as well as other opiate withdrawal symptoms for 4-7 days at home was well worth the price of admission. If you can handle a bad hangover for a day plus a couple more days of diarrhea, you can handle this. They also give you meds to help ease whatever symptoms you have after. I can’t tell you how many times I had tried quitting at home unsuccessfully (even with comfort meds like gabapentin and clonidine); I knew I had to go somewhere where I could just “rip off the bandaid” and be done with the nightmare I was stuck in and flying to Michigan was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. I’m going on nearly a month now since I was there and you couldn’t pay me enough to ever touch 7oh again. I’m forever grateful for this place and the amazing staff that works there.

Just checking in on you guys. Thank You for all your help and the tools to stay clean. I left about four years ago and was at 120 . After about 45 days of going thru withdrawals I finally gave in to Suboxone. My next step is the shot. Hi Bill and glad to see you're still here. TY for always being cool and I'll never forget you. I think I was 518 and can only imagine what number you're on today!!
Addicts do recover when they choose to!!!! Ty QBH for the tools to stay clean by making me go to group and therapy 🙌. Which made me start going to NA meetings. I believe in early recovery you gotta do 90/90. 90 meetings in 90 days to start change 😉😎. Remember to give yourself a break and get into NA to start working the steps of NA. The books how and why were my best tools. You must have a sponsor to work the steps. My own experience at Easterseals has only been since early June 2025, but I must express that they do have some wonderful staff here and they've been mostly pleasant and quite helpful in addressing my needs and concerns. My caseworker's been very positive and actually quite responsive when it comes to communication, which truly makes all the difference for me, personally. I feel she genuinely cares. My psychiatrist and therapist also have been great in similar ways. I can't say enough good things about these amazing women! Sure, front end staff seem off or a bit grumpy or just burned out sometimes, but, honestly I can't blame them - I wouldn't be able to deal with the job well myself! It'd annoy the hell out of me dealing with so many people all day. We all get tired of work at times, we're all only human ya know. (I only mentioned this because of the negatory comments I read regarding the initial staff). Lastly, their transportation guys are also awesome! I think what it all comes down to is your own personal attitude, tolerance, and the ability to have compassion and understanding from other perspectives in these type of places when it comes to staff interactions and services in general. I use the Genoa pharmacy there as well, and they've always been great. You get what you give in life or what you put into things folks. It's also good to remember we can't truly control anything outside of ourselves, only what's within us. But, I digress - to each their own. I hope this helps those considering using Easterseals or continuing to utilize their services. Peace and Love! I wish you all the best.

I've been receiving treatment for several years, I can't praise the nursing staff and Omar a counselor high enough. The staff listens to our concerns and adjusts accordingly. We once had a horrible nurse, we complained and she is gone. I highly recommend treatment here.

Life Challenge is a life saver for me. I’m so grateful to Pastor Jeff Bonzelar and my spiritual mom pastor Sheila as well as the teachers Bro Ken Keane, Bro Bob…and so many others. You have got to want change in your life for this to work. You’ve got to ask God to come into your heart ♥️ and do the work that needs to be done. I was walking around dead in sinking sand and God lifted me up and placed my feet on solid ground. I’ve completed 19 years and still standing for Jesus Christ. I encourage everyone to not let Satan get in your way. If you don’t like this one go find another Teen Challenge or Life Challenge. There are many more. But this was the best one for me. If you come God will plant a seed in you. Just let it grow and grow and grow. And DON’T GIVE UP. BECAUSE GOD DOES NOT GIVE UP ON YOU. AMEN! ♥️♥️♥️
