I came to Rose Hill in July 2005. I was put on the right medication but gained a few pounds. I went through the program being on three different crews. The work therapy program is top notch. In August of 2022 I decided to go off my medication completely. I lost weight but was very manic and went to the Hurley hospital psych ward then back to Rose Hill for a 'tune up'. The Rose Hill psychiatrist got me back on medication and I'm very successful today in the community. I currently have one job that I've held for almost ten years at Genesys Health Club. The program carries on after leaving campus. I'm in the Community Support Program (csp) with some appointments at Rose Hill Center. I highly recommend Rose Hill Center.

I got a lot of support for my mental health. Very professional and they care deeply for each resident. They helped me find my self confidence and self worth. Most importantly they work as a team. I got support not just with my mental health but they provided an autism specialist who greatly improved my quality of my life. I owe Rose Hill so much to my life also the offer DBT therapy which challenged me to improve myself and receive support to reach my goals. My DBT coach Laura gave me hope to a broggter future and helped me with dealing with extreme anxiety. I totally recommend Rose Hill for mental health and people who are on the autism spectrum. Would love to one day share my personal experience in hopes to reach out to people who would benefit services from Rose Hill.

Truly a wonderful opportunity to experience if you’re looking to change your life. Unlike the typical, more “hospital like” residential, Rose Hill encourages independence and helping you build skills to use in the real world. My time at Rose Hill, as a resident, has changed my life. I would say the biggest pros are: You get to keep your phone, they don’t stop you from vaping/smoking nicotine, you can have your car there under certain circumstances, you can go out on “day passes” into the community, there are many outings on a weekly basis, you get to go grocery shopping on a weekly basis as well, and you get your own, decently spacious room. Rose Hill has competent and caring social workers/case managers, therapists and floor staff. People you can tell that truly care. I’d suggest Rose Hill if you want to change your life.

Was a patient there for two weeks this past month for alcohol use disorder. It was a wonderful experience that taught me coping skills, I learned why I drink, and why I can't stop when I start, and the staff there is amazing. Its a great program. I feel like a brand new person coming out of there and would highly recommend it to anyone struggling with substance abuse.

I appreciate all the loving staff at Brighton. This is the place you want to be, if you want to recover. It's clean, classes are phenomenal, nurses, doctors, therapists, milieu techs, med techs, environmental services, everyone is great. Aftercare here is also wonderful. Update: they are wonderful until you need them again. I called yesterday, they were suppose to call back. I haven't been there for 3yrs. I needed help. Today no response. Tried calling back, no response. I had been seeing a therapist after she quit there. She only had terrible things to say about the place that they weren't up to updated treatments. I just want to get better and I would hope they could help. I guess I'm wrong.

The Howell U of M pediatrics office is absolutely incredible! While the U of M call center still needs support, once you’re in touch with the actual office it’s a completely different experience. The Howell front desk, nurses, and pediatricians are all so responsive, respectful, and really take the time to work with you to figure out what’s best for your child and your family.

* it's a long read, yet I hope this helps others decide to commit to this place and recovery* this was my 1st time in a detox since 2012. I only stayed 3 days due to the fact that I need weeks to come off my Suboxone that I have been on for near 6 years now and to get off of kratom and 7oh (kratom is NOT the same as 7oh just so u know,... 7oh is extracted from kratom and synthesized to make 7oh so it's extremely potent) I wanted to walk out of that place completely off everything but the intake Nurse/P.A. and I argued over my impulsiveness for stopping my Suboxone yet once she explained the weendown process I accepted it, it's not possible how I wanted to do it and she reminded me to slow down and realize my impulsiveness..3 months minimum of slowly lowering my dose to getting shots and then after about 3months I could be free, so i decided to stay to get thru my withdrawals from kratom and 7oh (withdrawals very intense yet short lived) the detox psychologist, I believe his name was Ray, made me realize so much about myself in our 2 short encounters that changed my thoughts and thinking as well as my understanding of myself drastically for the better. He's an ol'school cat, war vet, grandfather and his general aura and vibe was genuine and real. And the fact that he was so natural was a relief. All the detox nurses were great...except 1. She had shoulder length blonde hair and treated us like inmates rather than people who self-committed themselves to their facility. I won't go to deep cuz it isn't that deep but nurses like her and her judgement and condescending tone when speaking AT u not WITH u will be the cause of ppl leaving AMA. We enter a program vulnerable and she make u feel like dog shit on the bottom of her shoe SMH yet there was a male nurse with glasses and shoulder length light hair (not really blonde tho) and I believe he wore glasses, was so AMAZING. He introduced himself, came out to our smoking area and conversated with us (briefly) as the people we are. He showed kindness and care where that 1 woman nurse neglected to treat us as and for that I appreciate you even tho I don't remember his name. I've been home just over a week now and have not run back to my kratom/7oh addiction...my appointment is coming up in October to start my process of getting off my Suboxone properly. Now as for the intake process, yes it's a lil cold and rough, you have got to understand they are the 1st contact point for those coming into treatment. They see EVERYTHING, Who goes to detox sober/straight...I have yet to see that in my on and off recovery from 2000-2026, so they are getting the absolute worst of our selves when arriving. They must be stern and thorough in the start. Like no nonsense. I wasn't greeted with smiles and faith and I didn't arrive with smiles and faith such as that so I'm not mad and nobody attitude could stop me from wanting it... Take what applies to you and ur life and forget the rest. I would recommend this place to others. ( If u are going in prepare urself, read their list of approved items, and/or call the office and ask if you're curious if you can bring something that isn't on that list and what kind of packaging or even ingredients are restricted). And say this because I didn't get my deodorant and the only makeup I got that I brought was my liquid foundation but who tf am I truly trying to impress with my looks while detoxing LOL no biggie. It was battle that I chose not to fight...my zest bar soap worked just fine and deodorant.

The group therapy sessions were incredibly powerful and gave me tools I didn’t even realize I was missing. My group leader, Kailee, was with me for the majority of the program and is genuinely one of the most bubbly, kindhearted, and knowledgeable souls I’ve ever met. She created a space that was safe, supportive, and uplifting every single day. Niki, my therapist, is truly amazing—so insightful, attentive, and caring. Dominique, the nurse, is an absolute gem—compassionate, patient, and always there when you need her. And Matt, the psychologist, didn’t waste any time helping me find the right medication and support. He took my concerns seriously and acted quickly, which made a world of difference. The staff here truly care. It doesn’t feel like “treatment”—it feels like a community of people who love what they do and want to help you grow and heal. The food was great every day, the atmosphere was calming and structured, and they even gave us breaks for fresh air, which made a huge difference for my mental health. This place gave me a full toolbox to take with me, and for the first time in a long time, I feel ready. But here’s the truth: you get out what you put in. If you show up, participate, and commit to the process, you will see change. This team will support you every step of the way, but you have to meet them there. What sets New Oakland apart is that their care doesn’t stop when you walk out the door. They set you up with a real plan for continued support—and they actually follow through. I see a bunch of bad reviews here and so I felt compelled to leave a good one. My own experience at Easterseals has only been since early June 2025, but I must express that they do have some wonderful staff here and they've been mostly pleasant and quite helpful in addressing my needs and concerns. My caseworker's been very positive and actually quite responsive when it comes to communication, which truly makes all the difference for me, personally. I feel she genuinely cares. My psychiatrist and therapist also have been great in similar ways. I can't say enough good things about these amazing women! Sure, front end staff seem off or a bit grumpy or just burned out sometimes, but, honestly I can't blame them - I wouldn't be able to deal with the job well myself! It'd annoy the hell out of me dealing with so many people all day. We all get tired of work at times, we're all only human ya know. (I only mentioned this because of the negatory comments I read regarding the initial staff). Lastly, their transportation guys are also awesome! I think what it all comes down to is your own personal attitude, tolerance, and the ability to have compassion and understanding from other perspectives in these type of places when it comes to staff interactions and services in general. I use the Genoa pharmacy there as well, and they've always been great. You get what you give in life or what you put into things folks. It's also good to remember we can't truly control anything outside of ourselves, only what's within us. But, I digress - to each their own. I am a skeptic when it comes to doctors and clinicians because of past experience with both myself and my children. But I can say with total confidence that Easterseals has done an amazing job helping my daughters and myself cope and adapt in a healthy way to live successfully in todays world. I can’t imagine being a teenager now a days, and as a parent, I would do anything to help my girls get through these tough years. Colleen has done a wonderful job helping us communicate even if it’s uncomfortable for both of us. She helped save my beautiful daughter from going into a very dark place. I see some do not share the same experiences we have with Easterseals, but I’ve been in and out with my girls over the years, and between the staff, docs, and therapists, they have all done an amazing job, considering what they too, have to deal with day in and day out. At times my girls had to change therapists in the middle of treatment, but they did an alright job matching them with someone similar. And if they are ready and willing to change, and it’s explained that stuff like this happens, we got through it. It’s hard to keep constant staff on hand all the time, so I understood. We have been going here for years. We’ve seen a few doctors and therapists. I have never had any issues with any of the staff, doctors, or therapists. We’re always treated well. If you’re looking for pediatric/ adolescent care I highly recommend Dr. Greer. As far as therapists go Sarah Mathew and Elissa Redman are amazing!

It took about three psychiatrist to not listen to me, until I met Dr Richard Linsk at walled Lake. I have been Bipolar and ADHD singe early 20s I’m now 60 and depend on my medications to work, so I can stay productive. He actually listened to me and worked on a regime that worked in the past and worked with me to make adjustments that actually made it better. He looks at the whole health picture and everything he has done my primary care physician and cardiologist were both very impressed with the current regime. All the hassles I’ve had with Easter seals just having him makes it worth the other unorganised management and scheduling issues worth dealing with!

I lived for 9 months and I really liked it very much. They had adult sized tricycles in 2015. I would ride them around on the property to and from the Scripps Mansion and to the circle drive near the men’s treatment center. I tried riding to and from the gym/ physical therapy building where the business offices and printing press for the magazine journal. It was too hard going up hill but a breeze coming back down to the bridge . Then I had to get off and push it up to the treatment center for women. I really enjoyed my time at this place. However all good times have to end and mine ended .

Hi. I just wanted to extend my thanks to Andrew and Jason. They came to pick up my couch, but determined it was too worn to be of use for your organization. However, when they learned that we needed the space for a hospital bed for my husband, they went far above and beyond and came back to take it to the curb for me. It was not an easy task; it was a sleep sofa and too big to fit through the door, so they dismantled it and stacked the pieces neatly at the curb for trash pickup tomorrow. If you need gynecologic oncology, Dr. Rolston is your girl. She has been utterly incredible with me. I was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer during an exploratory laparotomy last December, and I have not had anything but great experiences with her and her entire team during this unexpected journey at just 29 (30 now) years old. I've finished chemo now, and so far have had no evidence of recurrence. Her and her entire team are amazing.

I went in with extreme back pain with tears in my eyes. I couldn't sit. I couldn't stand. I couldn't barley lay down. They got me right in. My nurse was wonderful and helpful and kind the doctor came in. She said we need to do what we can do to help you with this. Had X-rays. When it was time to leave. My nurse was so helpful trying to get me out the door. She told me to make sure and keep my orthopedic appointment. I could tell she really felt for me. I would recommend them..

Amazing place and I met some of my Best Friends Here. Dr. Theim is the best at empathizing with you and caring for you. If you have her, appreciate the fact you do. They’re all amazing but I don’t think I could have made it through the first time without her.But the only thing I would change, I had anxiety and paranoid bipolar delusions. I got banned because I couldn’t bring myself to leave my house or stay a day. I do understand why. But really I probably needed the psych ward. But that’s the ONLY thing that I’d change. Everything else here is amazing. And Sean, Miss Sherri, and Jennifer amazing people. Thank you Guys I’m back.

I have been see Elizabeth virtually on and off for months now. She is extremely professional and kind and is well educated in mental health. I also see Dr. Haque for medication and he is the same. He puts your health first when prescribing medication and stays on top of dosing when you are struggling. The front desk is always kind on the phone and with billing as well.
