I moved down this way a couple of years ago. I've seen a couple of doctors in Mississippi, everyone there is SO rude. So I'm from Little Rock, so instead of dealing with poor customer service I chose to go back to LR when I get sick, until yesterday. I was feeling so bad so I googled walk in clinics near me and this clinic popped up. The Geoffrey place I always go to is reviews all I saw was 5 stars. I sad this is the spot. I was called and was seen the same day and now I have a local PCP. All stay was polite, polite, and very professional. Emily was even willing to work with the specialist in LR to make we all in one accord. I attended Pecan Haven several times over the past 2 years. I have struggled with the disease of addiction since I was 18 and I'm currently 29. Each and every time I arrived I was broken and scared for my life in drug induced phycosis from methamphetamine I was treated with the upmost care from the staff to the clients the atmosphere is amazing there. Loving and caring. The staff is a notch above the rest because they have been there too. They know both sides addiction and recovery. I've had three counselors from my multiple times there from Ms.Cassie to Mr.Brad to Ms.Brooke and each one of them gave me tools that I use in recovery today. The last time I went there I was in a prison of my own demons locked in a hotel by myself smoking meth scared to death. I reached out and Mr.Shadley Powell personally came and picked me up and got me in the same night within a hour. They got me placed in awesome sober living where I'm currently doing well and I will always be grateful for my experience with Pecan Haven 5 out 5 stars

I have spent a lot of time and trips to several of the VAs of La. A lot with my brother and on my own and with a dear friend of my father. I’ve had one bad experience 40 or more years ago and that was in Jackson Ms. I’ve watched my brother die recently and as I look back l saw only respect and professionalism. I’ve had several visits recently and in years past. I have only complaint and that would be trying to do anything by phone. The Shreveport, Monroe, and Alexandra have been great. On several occasions when asking for directions l would be shown not told how to get to a location . When I thru they maybe waiting to show you the destination. I say THANK YOU for your service ! They sometimes are treated badly and talked down to . I l give them a ##### five star even if you have to deal with the phone cluster!!

I have been going to the Monroe VA Clinic since it opened around July 2009. Before they moved into the new clinic, I went to the VA Clinic that was out on DeSiard Street near Swartz for about 5-6 years. I have had both good and bad experiences over the years. For the most part, good. I agree that sometimes the wait can be excessive especially when you have a set appointment and are not a walk-in. Some of the doctors take too long with patients, while their other scheduled patients sit and wait on them for hours. Of course, if they are short-staffed the wait is going to be longer, but this is not something that we should take out on them. And alternatively, the employees should not direct the stress that they experience toward Veterans or each other when this happens. It's a hit and miss. I have experienced the best and worst sides of the Monroe VA Clinic, but for the most part my care has been exceptional and most employees I have encountered have been respectful and always thank me for my service. There is always room for improvement not only in this particular clinic, but with some of the employees and also within ourselves. After all, no one is perfect and neither is the VA System. It's about adjusting and adapting to any situation and making the best of it. I will add that sometimes I may get upset about the wait time, but, my health is much more important than the wait time and my doctor is extremely thorough when it comes to my care.

Wow, I'm shocked at previous reviewers. I don't know their whole story, but I'll share mine.
The office staff were kind, respectful, and knew me by name after the first week.
The therapists I met with were professional, used up to date research and evidence based interventions.
I had a miscommunication issue about money, and the director called me herself to make sure she understood my issue. She listened and understood. More than working out the money, she was safe and trustworthy to problem solve with.
I would recommend the Shephearst experience to anyone.

Went to this Er 4 separate times for severe dizziness and feeling like I’m going to pass out. I was turned away and told my vitals were normal and that it was probably my anxiety and they let me go.
Que about 2 weeks later my GP was able to get me admitted and I stayed for 5 days. The nurses are scary and always forgetting meds unless u ask. Also found out I have inter cranial pressure but we have no neurology here so I would have to wait.
I left the hospital barely being able to speak or walk myself but yet they said I was fine.
The only place to go if you live here is to make the drive 2 hours to Jackson. Would never go back.

I was in building 81 in 2015. Majority of staff was very helpful and understanding. I knew it wasn’t going to be great but I obeyed the rules and worked the program. I have been sober for four years and attend meetings weekly. I’m very grateful to God.
