My experience at Palmetto was really good. The counselors and staff were amazing—so caring, supportive, and always willing to help whenever I needed it. They truly care about your recovery and make you feel comfortable and understood. What I really liked is that it’s not like you’re confined. You have freedom and responsibility—they take you to the store, you do your own shopping and cooking, and you live in a cabin with other females. It really feels more like a community than a program. If there’s ever an issue between clients or if someone feels uncomfortable, the staff is great about rearranging cabins so everyone feels safe and supported. Overall, Palmetto is a great place that helps you grow, learn, and get the support you need. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s ready to make a positive change in their life. I want to take a moment to thank all of the staff at Palmetto who made such a big impact on my life. Macy, my counselor—thank you for helping me see things in myself that I didn’t see before. You truly opened my eyes and helped me grow in so many ways. Ms. Denise and Ms. Diane, you are both truly amazing. Ms. Tamika and Kaylee, and all the nurses including Tucker, thank you for being there for me when I wasn’t feeling well and for taking such good care of me. Clint was really cool people and great to talk with. Ms. Liz, thank you so much for giving me rides to my doctor’s appointments, and Ms. Kim, I really appreciate you for doing the same. Every single one of you made a difference in my journey, and I’ll never forget the kindness, support, and encouragement you gave me. And one of my favorite parts was being by the bayou—it was so peaceful and relaxing. Sitting out there, fishing or just enjoying the view, really gave me time to reflect and heal. If you tried to get off drugs , alcohol, and or struggling with an addiction and realize that you are powerless over the substance . Then you are at the right place. . Ms. Michelle was/is a natural leader and mediator. Darren, " black counselor", and Mr. Fletcher remained level headed and firm with staff and clients. Mr. Marvin is very considerate and calming on your way to and from rayville. Oan: hope I never need to return (unless it's to take Darren's job😅😁😀) oh, and Ms. Karon is one of the most leveled headed, straight forward, counselors there. I enjoyed her group (even with the coffee restrictions she abides by😌😉)

I honestly was just telling my wife about this place and I have mixed feelings on all 3 reviews left because I do remember how I felt going and being there but nothing's changed honestly the workers are still the same and the kids going will still be the same the system didn't change much the structure needed from that place only comes if you want it or allow it man I think about what my 15/16 year old self was like and owe this place a abundantly large apology from Mr Deen the owner at that time or head person to Mr Marty we was young and hand no full understanding of what life was going to be if we continued the path we was on was drugs the answer no was shoe taking no outside time the answer is no that's all they can do to show consequences at that time the padded room the straight jacket when you to out of control the thorazine and Seroquel man listen thinking back now them the only options I gave them ppl who was trying to help me understand myself do I recommend this place still in my heart yes I do because when life finally catches you and you finally reflex you come to the same conclusion we need this place more than we knew at that time it's a reason we was there it's definitely your family's responsibility to help you in life some of them failed us this place picked us up while being lost and tried to fix us with tools they had I turned out still a messed up individual with Alot of things that I still hold to the chest because who would understand I am far better on this path thinking back on places like this so again hopefully this helps someone else makes a decision on wether or not to send a loved one or not here

While I was young I hated the place. But now as an adult I understand the need for it. It teaches structure and teaches you how to respect authority. These kids need that. However id only recommend this place for the worst behaved children.

I, haven't made a complete turnaround since receiving treatment due to the complications of my illness. However, my overall experience has been a delight since the first visit. My therapist is a great listener and gives solutions on how to overcome my illness. The front desk employees, and nurses are exceptional, and transcend above their job duties to ensure I receive treatment.

Many things have changed since 4 years ago. But I will say that Shelley, the RN finally got my meds at 5 days and my suboxone got lost somehow, and I was definitely taken back at how operations have changed, but the texts were pretty good. If I could, I would check 10 out of 5 stars. Defining Wellness was not the first treatment center I had attended, it was the fourth; two IOPs and a residential treatment center prior. I can't fully put into words the difference in the quality of care I received at Defining Wellness. I thought the first treatment center I went to was great and I made it a little over two weeks before I relapsed. I went to an IOP shortly after and had my first large period of sobriety and then, relapse. I made it about two weeks after my second IOP before I made the decision that I needed a higher level of care and was referred to Defining Wellness. The facility was super nice. 5 star luxury accommodations? Close, but the facility far exceeded my expectations. What made the difference and very literally saved my life was that staff. These people pour their hearts and souls into ensuring their clients are taken care of to the best of their abilities. In the 48 days I was there between detox, residential and residential PHP I never had the same class. I never experienced boredom from being told the same thing over and over again. Counselors took their personal time to speak with me if I had questions or just to talk to me to see how I was doing. The classes we had daily were well thought out and conducted by people that obviously had an intense passion about bettering the lives of others. I am days away from beating my "record" of the longest period of sobriety I've ever had and I owe every single day to the faculty of Defining Wellness. I would recommend this facility to anyone who genuinely wants to learn that they may have to live with their disease for the rest of their life, but they can live it without using ever again. I have accepted and am comfortable with the fact that I never have to drink again. Thank you to everyone at Defining Wellness for saving my life and allowing me to start the process of finding myself after 25 years of redefining my rock bottom over and over again.

I attended Harbor House in Jackson in 2014. Pam Moore was my counselor. I am still clean today. It took me 5 rehabs until I was ready. I came to the area and spent the whole summer. I stayed for their secondary program. I was in really good hands here. I praise this place and will never forget this formative time. 10/10.

I had to make a special call to give a personal "Thank You" to Executive Director, Dedria D. Black for her wonderful staff at the Harbor House Chemical Dependency Center in Jackson Mississippi. The staff there are Professionals, Supportive, Compassionate, Caring etc. Their treatment philosophy goes above and beyond to make sure that their clients get the very best care for their recovery. Whenever I would call they gave me updates on my family member and their recovery. I've had over 40 years experience managing and working hands on in customer service. Finding the perfect team isn't easy but they've managed to do just that at the Harbor House. I would also like to send a special "Thank You" to Mission Specialist, Mrs. Shirley, Intake Coordinator, Mrs. Kayla, Nurse Manager, Mrs. Morenik and Counselor, Mrs. Kim Curtis for going above and beyond. I know that my family member is at the right place getting the treatment and tools that they need to be successful in life. Don't change a thing.
