I thought Green Mountain Treatment Center (part of Granite Recovery Centers) was just the right kind of place my loved one needed. It helped him to kick off his recovery. He is truly a changed person since coming home and is doing the work needed to keep him sober. The staff was and continues to be helpful by offering weekly support for family members. Support is offered to family members while your loved one is in treatment and even when they come home and you are figuring out how to live your life with someone in recovery.

This was the best experience at green mountain . They treated me like a human and even when I had a mental breakdown. And needed to be sent to outside facility when I came back they took real good care of me . The mountain saved my life and gave me the tools I needed to succeed and moved on to sober living

My daughter attended treatment at Green Mountain Treatment Center, and I am very grateful for the care and support she received. I had the opportunity to see firsthand the positive impact the program and staff had on her during a very difficult time. The staff was compassionate, professional, and truly invested in her recovery throughout her stay. The nursing team was especially kind and attentive, always making sure her medical needs were addressed with care and respect. The entire treatment team worked together to create a safe and supportive environment. The RCMs worked hard to support clients with planning and follow-through, and the clinical team helped her begin to open up and start working on herself. The techs on the floors and RSS staff were consistently present and attentive, making sure clients were safe and cared for. One moment that stood out was when my daughter was having a very difficult day and wanted to leave. A staff member from Patient Engagement, Kendra, sat with her, supported her, and helped her get through it so she stayed in treatment. That level of compassion made a real difference. Overall, I would highly recommend Green Mountain Treatment Center to anyone seeking help for themselves or a loved one.

My experience at Providence Retreat was nothing short of life-changing. This is not a typical rehab, and that distinction matters. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this was a place designed for deep spiritual work rather than clinical treatment—and that is exactly what I needed. Providence Retreat offers something rare: space. Space to slow down, to reflect, and to engage fully with the Twelve Steps in a meaningful and intentional way. There is no overload of information or constant programming. Instead, you are guided methodically through the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, allowing the process to unfold with clarity and depth. What stood out most to me was the sincerity of the men leading the retreat. They are not professionals detached from the work—they are men who have walked this path themselves and are committed to passing on what was freely given to them. That authenticity creates an environment of trust, humility, and honesty that is difficult to put into words. Providence Retreat is especially powerful for men who may have struggled in traditional treatment settings or stalled in their step work. It offers a new experience—one rooted in spiritual principles, accountability, and genuine human connection. The retreat does not promise overnight change, nor does it claim to be the end of the journey. It is the beginning. Spiritual progress is the goal, and if persisted in, the results truly are great. Seeing alumni return to meetings to give back says everything about the impact of this place. Providence Retreat helped lay the solid foundation for my recovery and gave me tools I continue to use today. I am deeply grateful for the experience and would recommend it to any man seeking a sincere, spiritually grounded path forward.

Went march-april of 2019 fresh out of 6 month jail bid. Couldn't ask for a better group of people all around. I was genuinely accepted and treated with dignity by both residents and staff. 28 days flew by and I was reminded of how |enjoyable life can still be even if you are sober. They let us smoke cigarettes on the patio outside and the food was outstanding and many times restaurant quality. I'll always have fond memories of this place. I can only hope that those that I met there are winning their battle with addiction or at the very least not giving up. They were all good souls that deserve happiness just as much as anyone else.

If you're wondering if common ground counseling is the right place for you, I can share that I've only had an empathetic,Caring, loving person sitting across from me,listening and hearing me without judgement while I poured my forever secrets and horrible things I've done out. Best choice ive ever made! - I've never been pushed to do anything I didnt want to do. Maybe I was hesitant to do them, but choosing to do things based on the fact that MY WAY wasnt working for me. I had to take the suggestions given after all, it was the Guidence I needed for a new way of life. I came from a background of Substance Use Disorder, trauma, broken relationships, depression, bad marriages, abandonment as a child, the foster care system, codependency issues, depression and the list goes on.... I had to be ready and I had to do the work but I have been a person in Recovery from life's experiences for 3 1/2 years and without the help from Common Ground Counseling I believe I wouldn't be here today. The Gift was there, I just had to pick up the phone and go get it.I will forever be grateful for what's been given to me. The person I once was is not the person I am today! Thanks Common Ground!

Summit Achievement in Fryeburg, Maine, provides a special program for 13 to 20 year olds who are struggling with substance abuse or experimentation. Our 14 year old completed the Venture and Traverse programs at Summit this year and we as a family cannot say enough about the positive impact we experienced. In researching the program, Shannon from Admissions connected us with 3 families who had recently had children at Summit and worked with the same therapist we had been matched with. All 3 families quickly reached back out to share their experiences. We appreciated that Summit was able to provide adventure therapy while helping our child not only maintain her progress in school but also obtain additional high school credits. Our primary therapist Olivia was both highly skilled and professional. Winter expeditions were well planned, safe, and very beneficial. The students were provided top of the line gear and the field staff were excellent. The family support program at Summit is exceptional and utilizes the Parallel Process curriculum. The therapists, field guides, parent coach, academic staff and medical practitioners truly work as a multi-disciplinary team and the outcome data speaks to how effective this program is. Our daughter learned skills, gained confidence, and genuinely bonded with the staff and several peers. We are forever grateful for Summit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this program to others.

My son, who quite honestly did not want to go to Summit at first, speaks so fondly of his time there. He always emphasizes how kind the staff is - the therapists, the teachers, and the guides. The weekly expectations for kids to reach therapeutic, academic, and expedition goals is a holistic approach and allows those who struggle in certain areas to shine in others. My son says the expeditions were fun, purposeful, and challenging. He began to feel confident again and his self-esteem was boosted. On the last day when his peers gathered in a circle and shared loving words about my son, it was incredibly moving. Here was a group of teens, all of them struggling in their own right, sharing such profound sentiments. I wish all teens have the opportunity to become such supportive peers and so emotionally literate.

Sending our son away from home when he was completely “stuck” in life with his anxiety etc, was one of the hardest things we ever had to do, and the hardest thing he ever had to do. Thankfully we put our full trust in Summit Achievement with Mike, Nick and so many of the guides and staff who made it the tremendously life changing experience it was for our son. He has grown into an amazing young man who is about to graduate college. He has learned to navigate life when it becomes difficult, so that he can move forward in a stronger and more confident way. My husband and I too learned so much about our role as his parents and ways to support him. Over the years he has even spoken about some of the tools he learned at Summit and how it changed his life. Sometimes it can be with humor when he is quoting something he learned at Summit but always with thankfulness as he has literally said as hard as it was that “Summit saved him”. We are ever so grateful for his experience there and the unbelievably dedicated staff the makes Summit what it is. Anne M

Staff is always caring friendly and helpful. They always make you feel comfortable and genuinely want to see everyone do the best we possibly can. Also if you are someone who doesn't do doctors or hospitals, Dr. Pi will change your mind! Every single person I've talked to has had nothing but awesome things to say about him.
