The mobile unit in Sullivan County saved my life! I was in a very dark place and didn t think there was any hope. I saw a post on Facebook and went immediately. Julia and Heather didn t judge me and they made me feel comfortable and gave me hope. I am so grateful to say I have a year free from my addiction and want to thank everyone at bridge back to life, Julia, Heather, Andrew, Rosalia and everyone in the groups. You were all gifts from God. I didn t have the money to pay for treatment and they told me to write a letter explaining my situation, they let me continue treatment without paying. Carnegie Hill Institute is by far the greatest recovery program I ve ever had the pleasure of attending. In the 4 years I ve been enrolled at CHI I have successfully stopped using for 3 years now. My counselor at this time is not only the most helpful counselor I ve ever had in any recovery type place, but he s also been a great friend to me as somebody to confide in. The man who started this Institute Dr. Harvey Karkus unfortunately passed away recently much to my dismay. He was one of the last remaining doctors in this city who truly cared about his patients and genuinely tried to help each and everyone of them. However I like to believe that his legacy lives on in the new doctor on staff Dr. Ella Leers as she is much like him in many ways. In conclusion I absolutely believe 100% that my ability to stop using has been due to the care that Carnegie has given me. Thanks guys!

I was a Patient there for approximately 9 months. A Wonderful Atmosphere and you re surrounded by ppl who Really Care.Especially the Counselors, My Counselor in Particular. Her Name was Jenn. A Wonderful Person and an Absolute Dear young Lady.She was Extremely informative and Knows just how to make you feel Comfortable and Cared For.I was going through a Rough patch, but looked Forward to my meetings with her every week and Every time I left her office, I ALWAYS FELT BETTER AND FELT LIKE SOMEONE CARED..I can Honestly Say, Meeting Jenn was a Highlight of my Time there.I only left there because I found a place Much Closer to my home out East.But my Counselor there will always be close to my heart.And I Thank Her Dearly.All in all, a Wonderful Place to Get Clean and Stay Clean

I've never dealt with a VA hospital before, and so didn't know what to expect when my father started using their services. I have to say that we have been extremely pleased with what we've experienced.In addition to the very satisfactory medical care he received, another thing that was impressive was the respect with which they treat the veterans. I saw this not only with my father, but with others who I saw in the halls during our visits to their ER and other offices. You could tell that the care they gave sprung from appreciation for their service.Both the doctors and the nurses were always there for us when we needed them. They both made house calls and the nurses were there for us 24/7-- even for emergency house calls in the wee hours of the night/morning.Everything we experienced in our years of interactions with the VA left me with a feeling that socialized medicine could indeed work if done properly. That's not meant to be a political statement, but just an observation of truly good service coming from a government-run agency.My dad recently passed away, so I really want to thank the Northport VA for their service to him. It made a big difference to him and those of us caring for him. I don't know what we would have done without them.

I have been going to this Bronx VA location since 1988, when it was my very 1st visit to the ER. The Dr's and nurses gave me exceptional treatment, both in the ER and as inpatient. I didn't start using this facility again until about 2019. And let me tell you that for me nothing has changed. I still receive excellent care both as inpatient and outpatient. It's has far better quality than Montefiore!!!!

Great service offered to persons in need they have a methadone clinic and a residence. It is like a one-stop shop except there is no detox service offered. There are groups and structured programs for clients. I know of persons who have used the service and are now successful. If they did it, so can others. Going to south oaks was better than I could have expected. The counselors, staff, nurses, doctors, were all great. They helped me set up a plan for my recovery. I was fed way better than I could have expected. I'm really grateful to have made the decision to go and get some help for myself. Its sad to see all the negative reviews. Maybe cause they were by patients that aren't ready to get well yet. I'm blessed to have gone and would recommend going to anyone that is ready for a reset to get better

Was here at South Oaks back in 2018 the unit was Coed a girl who was on the ward with me recently passed away due to a drug overdose..She should of never been discharged. South Oaks is a great hospital they prepare a discharge plan get you into outpatient treatment. It's up to each person we control our lives and destiny. We ate well had plenty of toiletries.We pretty much could do what we want sleep all day lounge around too bad we can't go for a mini vacation .

A Lifesaving Experience for My Son s Broken Arm Exceptional Pediatric ER & Ortho Team!After a terrible experience at another hospital (Cohen LIJ), where the ER team failed us and no one followed up, we were referred to Nassau University Medical Center by our orthopedic specialist. From the moment we arrived, the care was "night-and-day different".Pediatric ER: The wait time was shockingly short, and the team was incredibly kind. My son, Tristan, was seen immediately, and 4-5 different nurses checked on him regularly, making sure he was comfortable. A compassionate Haitian doctor (I wish I got his name!) was thorough and reassuring.Emergency Surgery: We were admitted for an urgent wrist surgery due to a broken bone. The resident orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Omar Saleem (Precision Orthopedics - 161 Willis Ave Mineola), was outstanding. He took the time to explain the procedure in detail, answered all our questions with patience, and treated Tristan with so much empathy. The surgery went smoothly, and I felt confident in his expertise.Post-Op & Discharge: After a 3-hour wait (expected for emergency cases), RN Jin Young Lee handled our discharge with exceptional care. She reviewed all instructions clearly, ensured we understood follow-up care, and was genuinely kind.Hospital Environment: Yes, the building is older, but it s well-kept, clean, and organized. Even the restrooms were neat something I don t take for granted in busy hospitals!I m truly saddened by the negative reviews because our experience was flawless in a high-stress situation.
