I’m not one to write reviews, but as a nurse practitioner myself, trying to navigate a chronic, aggressive disease with no cure, I feel compelled to share my experience. Far too often, I have been medically gaslit, received subpar care, and been met with little to no compassion while fighting a disease that has completely changed my life. It is incredibly difficult to find healthcare providers who are truly knowledgeable about this disease and understand that patients suffering from Stage IV endometriosis and adenomyosis are not simply seeking pain medication. We are living with unimaginable, debilitating pain that most people will never understand. At just 30 years old, I have already lost organs to this disease and am now facing the possibility of a hysterectomy. This is not a life I ever imagined for myself. To the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for me last night, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for taking my condition seriously, listening to me, and treating me with genuine compassion. After seeing my postoperative surgical photos, the medical team was genuinely at a loss for words. For once, I felt seen, heard, and believed. Women’s health does not receive nearly the attention, understanding, or quality of care it deserves. Far too many women are left suffering in silence, dismissed, or made to feel as though their pain is exaggerated. Last night, you reminded me what healthcare is supposed to look like. You treated me not just as a patient in pain, but as a human being who desperately needed help. You all saved a life last night, and I will never forget that. I am forever grateful that you helped me manage an excruciating pain flare so I could regain some sense of normalcy and return to doing what I love most: caring for my own patients. Thank you, North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, for showing me the compassion, dignity, and exceptional care that every patient deserves. 🤍

Mountainside has been amazing in support of our son as well as us as parents throughout this challenging and painful journey of addiction!! In particular, The Sober Coach, Morris, that is working directly w our son and in tandem with us is absolutely amazing in so so many ways. He has and continues to go up and above each and every day!! My son has been working with Morris, a Recovery Coach at Mountainside for the past eight months and the experience has been exceptional for us both! Morris truly understands how to support recovery in a real world, day to day way. The coaching goes further than check-ins. It includes accountability, life skills, emotional support, and sometimes honest hard conversations. My son has learned how to manage challenges, make healthier choices and is learning how to stay focused on his long-term goals. The progress he’s made has been remarkable and I credit much of that to the consistent well informed coaching he receives. Not only does Morris provide coaching to my son, his expertise extends to me as well. He is highly responsive and always follows through. Mountainside’s Recovery coaching is more than a service. It feels like it’s a true partnership. As a mom navigating this process, I am grateful for the guidance, structure, the encouragement and situational advice Morris provides. I would recommend their coaching without hesitation to any family who’s looking for meaningful sustained support around sobriety. This has made a significant difference for my family. Early recovery, albeit exciting, can be fragile, and I cannot imagine having gone through this experience without the coaching Morris provides.

My daughter’s recovery coach Jeanine Ierardi, was amazing!!! She was the best that Mountainside could offer as a recovery coach. She went far and beyond helping and supporting us through the most difficult time in our lives. She saved our daughter’s life!!! Excellent therapists who seem to really care. From time of intake until you are actually assigned a therapist was quite fast. The therapists are compassionate and experienced.

I enjoyed the entire time that I was being prioritized with the best of care and attention for my addiction and mental wellbeing and I was able to get discharged in a positive multifaceted mindset which encouraged my mental state for a positive outcome while also being prepared with the correct tools to ensure that I am able to succeed in my battle with addiction, depression and anxiety.

Words cannot explain how great this program is and the positive influence it has had on my family member’s life. Staff are accommodating, supportive, patient and extremely professional. The entire environment encourages personal growth and long-term sobriety. I would absolutely recommend this program to families looking for support for a loved one struggling with addiction.

After a stressful experience elsewhere with an enlarged thyroid that was affecting my voice and swallowing, I came to Phelps Hospital and Northwell Health for a second opinion. The care I received from start to finish was extraordinary. Every physician I worked with—Dr. Hellerman (Endocrinology), Dr. Newman (Surgery), and Dr. Indich (Primary Care)—took the time to truly listen, explain everything clearly, and treat me like a person rather than a chart number. The team at Yorktown Imaging was equally wonderful, keeping my spirits high and putting me at ease during my pre-op MRI. On surgery day, everything ran like clockwork. Admissions was private and efficient. A patient care concierge explained the tracker system to my husband so he could follow my progress, and my prep nurse was attentive, communicative, and made sure he could sit with me before surgery. Dr. Newman took extra care to place the incision where scarring would be minimal, and the anesthesiology team kept me completely informed. Recovery staff managed my post-anesthesia nausea immediately, and Dr. Newman checked on me before I was discharged to rest at home. Post-op follow-up has been fantastic—calls were returned promptly, and one week out I have minimal pain, zero complications, and feel better every day. Thank you to the entire Phelps team for your skill, warmth, and genuine patient-first culture!

Had a colonoscopy today. Fantastic staff, the RNs were super sweet and attentive! The procedure went perfect. Thank you to everyone who helped me today (especially since I’m morbidly obese). Also great cafe selection!

Putting my review in a nutshell,"my mother always told me to "fake it until you make it" and by becoming a rehabilitated human being at,Carnegie Hill Institute,again,I no longer have to fake it. And if there were anyone else I'd thank,besides the Lord,for seeking life' purpose,I thank the generosity of spirit and the way they come from love first and of in their successes at making sure I can regain the trust of others because they trust in me. And without gaining the trust of others,it takes away your will to live.

I've been a client at Carnegie Hill Institute for quite a number of years. I had been in treatment for years, and I can sincerely state that the treatment plans offered by the staff are the most effective that I have encountered so far.

What time is the last call patients are able to make?

In my humble opinion, this is the best place you can go for help. Whether detox or rehab. The staff is wonderful and kind, the accommodations are good, and the food is great! This is the best place you can go, when you need help. They REALLY! REALLY! REALLY! help. May God bless everyone who needs help, this is the best place to go!

I truly hope you achieve everything you’re working toward. You would make an incredible counselor. The way you treated us with respect, compassion, and genuine care says so much about your work ethic and your character. Ash and Mike S - thank you for your patience and for always treating us with love, kindness, and respect. You made us feel like human beings, and that means more than you know. Stephan, Johnny, Gary, and Antwo—thank you for everything. The list of people I appreciate could honestly go on. Joe—you’re the man! Thank you for helping me even when you didn’t have to. And to my counselor, James—I’m truly grateful that our paths crossed. Thank you for your guidance and support. To anyone considering coming here: if you’re serious about getting help, staying focused on your goals, and working on your sobriety, you can absolutely succeed here. One thing I learned is that treating others with respect goes a long way. This isn’t a resort, so don’t expect a different meal every day or luxury accommodations. Like any program, there are some downsides, but for me, there were far more positives than negatives. I left with valuable lessons, support, and hope. At the end of the day, recovery starts with you and with the mindset you choose to have. Thank you to everyone who helped me during my stay. I truly appreciate everything you did, and I wish you all nothing but the best.

An amazing group of individuals helping those of us who not only want or need help, but are there helping us work through not only our addictions but emotions. 10 out of 10 Would recommend if you’re in need… pretty much anything that will make you feel better about yourself by helping you… understand yourself. And it’s nice to sit in a group of peers judgement free. There is nothing but love pouring out of this place. And as a side note after reading lower rated posts. I have no insurance and they have done absolutely nothing more than help me and be there for me. Please if you feel you need some help, give them a call. It’s worth it.

Went to the ER, once the paperwork was completed, I was brought right in. NO WAIT TIME! I cannot emphasize enough the professional and compassionate care I received from, the Doctor, Nurses, Medical Techs, Security Team as well as the custodial staff. 5 ⭐ for this Medical Center.
