This place is amazing. The staff is beyond incredible. They make you feel like family. They truly care for you. I stayed for 95 days. Best thing I ever did. Oh and you eat like a king lol some of the best food ever and the bakery is out of this world. In all seriousness this place is an amazing place to get help. I felt welcomed by all the other guests as well. Everyone is there for the same reason so its very easy to get along and you build a family forever . I've been out for over 6 months now and I still talk to at least 15 of the guys. Highly recommend. In fact I have already recommend it to a few people. And i met some people here in bennington vt where I go to AA that went to h.w back in the day. Can't wait to go back for a prime rib dinner soon..

The Midwestern Connecticut Council on Alcoholism (MCCA) has been delivering substance use recovery services for residents of Western Connecticut since 1975. I have been attending group at MCCA and can honestly say it has been a life-changing experience. I came in feeling angry, anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and very unsure if therapy in a group setting would be helpful—but it exceeded all of my expectations. From the start, the facilitators created a welcoming and non-judgmental environment. I quickly realized how much we all have in common beneath the surface. Hearing others share their stories gave me perspective and helps me feel less alone in my struggles. More importantly, I felt truly heard and supported when it was my turn to speak. The sessions are well-structured, with a good balance between open discussion and guided exercises. The therapists are empathetic and skilled at gently challenging us to dig deeper without feeling pressured. I’ve learned healthier ways to manage my emotions, set boundaries, and communicate more honestly in my relationships.

I would like to share some thoughts about Mountainside and especially our sons recovery coach Christina. Following his completion of a 28 day in-patient program with another provider he enrolled at Mountainside Chappaqua. He is in their Outside Patient and Recovery Coaching programs. Our son and Christina have been working together for about five months. They talk daily and meet weekly. A few weeks into the program Christina began doing weekly calls with my wife and me. Our son works with various therapists, clinicians and other staff at Mountainside. He is complimentary of the entire organization and their contribution in helping him understand his addiction and providing recovery support. My wife and I only work with Christina. Christina is EXCELLENT. She balances professional counseling, insight, accountability, great communication skills and timely follow-up. Having walked this life herself she is highly skilled and relatable but it’s never about her. Christina cares. She has built valued trust with all of is. My wife’s and my weekly calls provide an update on his progress and any open issues. She reminds us that he is accountable for his own recovery and keeps us in our lane. Most important she has helped keep our sons recovery moving positively forward day after day.

Located in Hartford, Connecticut, Newport Academy is an alcohol and drug rehab program that offers addiction treatment services to men and women struggling with addiction. My experience was absolutely amazing. I was in the Mustang pod, October 25 (2023) - January 7 (2024). I was previously at a rehab in Minnesota and it was a unanimous decision that I needed more treatment. From the very first day I got there everyone was so welcoming, kind and accepting. I have severe allergies to egg and peanut so that also gives me really bad food anxiety. The nutritionist there was so so helpful and made sure I always had a fulfilling meal, from Breakfast to evening snack to the food I have to eat before breakfast (meds). Since I was in the substance abuse pod, we were able to go off site to NA/AA meetings. That helped me immensely. Kayla and Lisa the counselors for this pod are literally heaven sent. I love them so much and never made anything I talked about feel embarrassing or stupid. All the activities we had throughout the day like Gong, Equine, Music therapy, Tea making, Yoga, Gym, Nutrition, Adventure (S/O J.D), Art, Alumni, MMA (Love Vince, he's awesome.), and others I probably forgot to mention. For school, the teachers I had helped me a lot and made sure I was caught up and beyond where I needed to be in order to pass my sophomore year. (Ayeeee shout out Chris) There was quite a bit of drama, but nothing intolerable. The only thing I really disliked was how immature some of the staff was, making some people in my house (Dove) feel invalidated etc. That obviously isn't something that changed how my entire experience was but i was also one of those people they didn't 'like' for a little bit. I think they need to be more mindful when choosing who to hire. When we just have chill time in between activities, the CC's were so fun and easy to talk to. They all had such a huge impact on my stay. And the cooks!!! Holy crap. They kept me feeling included 3x a day every single day. When we had continental breakfast, they would make me egg free muffins, or the French toast bake egg free. And when it was something I just didn't like, I was able to eat a Sun butter and Jelly, Pasta, or cereal. I never went to bed or woke up hungry, unlike my other experience elsewhere. Overall it was such an eye opening experience and forever changed my life for the better. Also they did an amazing job administrating my Vivitrol injection monthly. One of the CC'S would go in there with me and hold my hand and talk to me. I'm sober to this day, (2 years coming up!!) Reading these reviews makes me upset, because in these programs you have to want to get better. You have to try and if you don't you're going to have a bad experience. It sucks at first, I would literally cry every week before, during, and after family therapy, but it's not because the therapist is bad. These 1 star reviews are solely personal. It has nothing to do with the staff. They're simply doing their job and making sure you are putting in the work to get better. Its not supposed to be fun. But if you put the hard stuff aside and focus on petting the horses, or making your tea bags when it's that time, you will find it to be tolerable. A good attitude = good outcomes. ANYWAYS if an actual human is reading this tell everyone I said sup

After three years of searching for the right support for my daughter; I can confidently say that the treatment team at Newport Academy is the best we've ever worked with. The staff’s dedication, expertise, and genuine care have made all the difference (especially Cheyenne, Jenna, Amanda, and Travis). The therapists, psychiatrists, and support staff worked seamlessly together, creating a holistic and individualized treatment plan that addressed my daughter’s unique needs; after a short time I truly felt like they knew and understood her. They fostered an environment of trust and understanding, allowing her to openly engage in her healing process for the first time. It didn’t happen over night, but when it did, it was beautiful to see. Their emphasis on family involvement, the therapeutic environment, and the diverse range of supportive activities all contributed to my daughter's growth (she loved the equine therapy and the adventures with (Cece). Today, my relationship with my daughter is stronger than ever. Our support community is much stronger, and she actively participates in peer support through Newport’s Alumni app, which has been incredibly beneficial. To a family considering Newport Academy, I wholeheartedly recommend it and advise that you fully engage in the process. Advocate for your baby, trust the clinical team, lean into the family therapy sessions, and embrace the available resources. It's a journey that requires commitment from everyone, but the rewards are immeasurable. It was by far one of the most challenging decisions I’ve ever made, especially as a BiPOC parent, but I would 1000% do it again. I will be eternally grateful to the amazing people we’ve met there.

MCCA mcdonough was my 4th rehab and probably my last chance to get sober. It was the best place for me to come to in the state I was in and honestly Jenni, Heather, and Michelle are THE best counselors I’ve ever met and worked with out of all the rehabs I’ve been to. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And they all go above and beyond to help any client with whatever they can. They are the reason I have remained so connected to the program, as well as helping me get back on my feet and in sober living and building a community and network in recovery. I have seen some positive reviews here but I’ve also seen some negative, and it’s a shame those people didn’t have the experience I did because these counselors not only saved my life but they have changed it and me for the better. I don’t know where I would be right now without their help, guidance, and assistance, and I fully plan on doing everything in my power to stay clean so I can come back one day, share my story for their groups to show that recovery is possible, the program works, and if you allow these amazingly generous women to help you that you too can have a life beyond your wildest dreams.

This place completely saved my life, it taught me a new way to live and that I am a man, worthy of love and respect. Since there, in 2017, I had one slip up about a year after I graduated, but that was almost 8 years ago now. Since then, I went to welding school, they set me up in a halfway house in NYC, moved back home to Rochester, NY. I have worked in the welding industry and slowly worked my way to where now I run a million dollar welding training program and I try pass along the same message I learned there. You are a Man, or Woman, worthy of love and respect, with hard work and dedication you can have anything you set your mind to.

I was a resident in 1992 to 1994. Wellspring helped me tremendously. Especially the Adventure Program where we would go on hikes. I found a love of nature and friendships for a lifetime. The current director, Dan Murray was my therapist and he was so gentle and caring. He cared a great deal about all of his patients. Many of us are still friends and remember him so fondly. I also went on to Angelus House at 18 and finished my senior year of high school at the local public high school. The transition helped me gain confidence and lifelong friendships from there as well. Thank you for the lessons. Many sunk in much later in life, but you helped plant the seeds.

Wanted to take a moment to dote on counselor Richelle Atkins. She has been instrumental in helping me change my life and work through my addiction. When you find someone like Richelle who is not just passionate about her job but truly cares for the people and community - that kind of dedication to the cause helps me to feel not so alone. Judgement has no place at Restorative and Richelle is a true reflection of that. I could tell her anything and she would only try and make it better for me or challenge me to think of how I can do better in the future. Even in the midst of her own personal struggles she shows up for her clients 100% each day. I can't say enough wonderful things, about this extraordinary place. Initially, being from San Diego, after reading the terrible reviews, I was so apprehensive, reluctant to go here, to the point of getting sick, thinking this place sounds awful. I couldn't have been more wrong. Shame on these people writing those terrible reviews. It's a bunch lies, on truths, fictitious statements. I went in expecting the worst. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY UPON ENTERING THE BUILDING, I KNEW HOW LONG THOSE REVIEWS WERE. IT WAS RIGHT IN MY FACE I've never experienced so many wonderful people, all in one place. You'd be lucky to get just one kind person, but in this place, the love is everywhere. I mean it. I can't say enough. No judgement, no looking down, no feelings of shame because of the way they speak to you. To the contrary, they treat you wonderfully, with kindness and compassion and with a real desire to help. God bless every single person at this facility. They truly are doing GOD'S work. Angels, here on earth, to help those in pain, we numb ourselves, with the drugs, just to get through another day. If I can do it, after my hellish life, I stand confident, anyone is capable. This place touched my heart. I go by actions and their actions at CT Counseling, tell me all I need to know. They ;I've what they're doing and truly care about other people, with a genuine desire to help others. There is no question about it.

Like ALL programs in or out patient if you WANT to stop and only need the means, guidance and support to do it than this Is the place . If it was forced upon you or just not ready then may be the place but it may take you more than 1 attempt . In the beginning it’s about reducing amount of your intake substance as you increase amount of medication. That amount and that pace is unique to the individual and CCC recognizes that and also respects that . As long as you trend in proper direction and continue to show progress you have the support of your Counselor. Once stabilized they develop your treatment plan. When you have decreased and eliminated substances and have found a comfortable level of medication dosage that is when you now replaced your bad habit routine with a daily monitored stabilized routine that also is unique to the comfort level of individual discussing a wide range of topics with your assigned counselor: once trust is earned having clean random monthly tests you don’t have to be at the facility unless you chose to and you can begin to take home monitored medication to responsibly proceed with your outpatient program. Your counselor will encourage the timing the is best to decrease at the pace that works for you until you are done and substance free. So much better than 30 day, 90 day ,12 month 0r any predetermined length of time programs because every person is unique whether they feel confident they can do it in a year, 3 yrs, 5 , 10 or stay with this support system as a new part of life what is important is that new life is what you WANTED to achieve and join the team of success stories! In most other reviews I agree that it is about money for the center , but what business , paying their employees ,is not about making money to stay afloat? Also not all counselors are ex addicts that have felt & know exactly what & how we feel, but we can open up & let them learn about the uncontrollable disease & struggles of how our mind works!

I really love our therapist she has been so good. I see other people leaving bad reviews but they do the best they can and they actually want to help, sometimes you have to meet people halfway. They have listened to all my concerns and tried to accommodate them as much as possible, they also have a really good children’s program. They actually care about the kids

Love Lexington!! Started on 412 Main Street, they got me into the methadone clinic and both places saved my life! I’ve been sober for 3 1/2 years thanks to this program. The groups are great, the counselors are the absolute best in the area, the doctors and nurses care about not only your dose, but how your feeling and if you have any issues they bring you right to the doctor! I couldn’t of asked for better people during the worst time of my life… Thank you Lexington Staff 💙❤️

I would recommend this to anyone who is really seeking the better, right way of life. GOD first & healing. It's a true blessing there's hard days but the most beautiful as well. I could never repay the love, help, and guidance it gave me. I pray ,always it stays with me.

The Hoving Home became the sanctuary where my shattered life found renewal. I walked in burdened by the heavy weight of shame, guilt, hopelessness, loneliness, and raw anger. But within its loving, faith-filled embrace, I discovered a profound intimacy with God that began to melt away those chains. The staff's unwavering wisdom and guidance were a constant source of strength, illuminating each step along my journey of healing and transformation. Ultimately, it was the Holy Spirit's daily guidance that empowered me to rebuild. With the help of everyone—the dedicated staff and compassionate leaders—I not only completed the initial 12-month program but was also accepted into the Leadership Program in Pasadena, CA. This incredible opportunity has allowed me to extend my learning of biblical principles, further developing my skills in leading and working in ministry, which has always been my life's desire. Now, I have the profound privilege to stand alongside and serve other women who have walked through similar life struggles and are seeking change and transformation. It's a true blessing to give back what was so freely given to me. This isn't just a program; it's a home filled with God's grace, a place where brokenness is met with boundless compassion and the promise of a redeemed life. If you, or anyone you know, are looking for support on their recovery journey and transformation for their lives, I wholeheartedly encourage you to call the Hoving Home at 845-274-3812. It can truly change everything."
