Excellent rehab Hospital. I came here to rehab after my back surgery. Very professional! The PT and OT sessions really got me back on my feet. I had 3 hours a day while under the care of doctors and nurses. Everyone is very nice and cared about my welfare. I saw many hospital administrators who wanted to make sure I was happy with my rehab. Social worker was awesome. I even saw the VP of rehab medicine who I felt, was genuinely concerned for my comfort. I cannot say enough good things about this Rehab facility. Yes, a significant number of veterans have been incarcerated, facing unique challenges during and after their sentences. Recent studies show that veterans from the all-volunteer force era are more likely to be incarcerated than their non-veteran counterparts. This is often linked to risk factors like combat exposure, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and substance use disorders. Assistance and Programs The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other organizations offer specific programs to help justice-involved veterans reintegrate into society. These programs aim to address the root causes of their criminal justice involvement and provide a path to a stable civilian life. Veterans Treatment Courts: These courts offer an alternative to traditional sentencing. They focus on treatment and rehabilitation, providing eligible veterans with the tools and support to address underlying issues like substance abuse and mental health conditions. Health Care for Re-entry Veterans (HCRV) Program: This VA program helps incarcerated veterans prepare for their release. It provides them with information about their benefits and connects them with health care, housing, and other community resources to prevent homelessness and promote successful reintegration. Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) Program: VJO specialists act as a liaison between the VA and the legal system. They identify veterans in jail or prison and connect them with the appropriate VA services, whether they are in a Veterans Treatment Court or not. VA Benefits and Incarceration Incarceration can impact a veteran's eligibility for VA benefits. While certain benefits, like disability compensation, may be reduced or terminated after a certain period of imprisonment, others, like some education benefits, may still be available. Veterans receiving disability compensation rated at 20% or higher will have their payments reduced after 60 days of imprisonment for a felony conviction. Veterans receiving a VA non-service-connected pension will have their payments terminated. However, benefits are not reduced for those in work-release programs or residential reentry centers.

Our family has had a relationship with Causeway Collaborative for a number of years. They are able to guide young men including those who are neurodivergent and their families through the issues that many young men face today. They were able to identify our son's challenges and connect with him immediately. Additionally, they have included our entire family in the process and it has benefited each of us. We would highly recommend Causeway Collaborative for those young men and their families who are struggling.

Monte Nido Irvington absolutely saved my life. I had been suffering from my ED for years & treatment wasn’t really helping me. Irvington actually showed me that recovery is possible, and that I can actually do well in life. My therapist, Meg, is an absolute gem who cared so much about me and my case. This review is overdue and important, for me to share how great an experience we had receiving mental health treatment and support for my son at Gracie Square Hospital. The entire staff throughout the facility especially on the fourth floor unit are very professional and kind. My son is doing so much better. Having a family member who is experiencing mental health challenges can be very frightening and overwhelming, taking them to the right place makes a world of difference. I am so grateful for their service and highly recommend Gracie Square Hospital at NYP for mental health care. Thank you Dr. Dole and your team. 🙏🏼

I was extremely hesitant to send my daughter to Gracie Square after reading many negative reviews, but our experience was truly a 10 out of 10. Security was exceptional. They were professional, respectful, and made us feel comfortable immediately. Her social worker, Sylvie, was incredibly thorough with discharge planning and kept me informed every step of the way. Her nurse practitioner, Katherine, was compassionate, attentive, and genuinely invested in my daughter’s well-being. Both providers listened to my concerns at a time when I felt no one else was listening, and that meant more than I can express. Their support and responsiveness helped us feel safe and understood during a very stressful moment. The nurses in the unit were incredibly kind. When I called at night to check on my daughter, they were always polite, patient, and reassuring. One important suggestion for anyone writing reviews: please mention the unit you or your loved one was on. I believe Gracie Square has four different units, and reviews often don’t specify which one they refer to. It makes it difficult to understand the context of each experience because the units can vary. My daughter was on the 4th floor unit I am truly grateful for the care my daughter received, and I believe the staff on her unit deserve to be recognized.

I went here after my local ER failed me and kept sending me home with alcohol poisoning / withdrawals. I can’t speak for everyone or every program, but I felt very cared for. I told them I needed a hot shower because I couldn’t regulate my body temp and the nurse had someone come and clean the shower for me. I had to sit on the FLOOR, of essentially a public shower I was so sick. But it still felt clean. The shower head was odd and too powerful, but again, available and CLEAN! I was properly cared for, and if you EVER need help, they’re in your room quickly. Medications are taken seriously and used appropriately and given regularly. I was woken up to take my meds, which is probably the only reason I woke up without pain or nausea. I spent very little time here, but it was very pleasant and the staff very caring. I haven’t even had a hangover post care at this facility, but if I ever struggled again, I’d admit myself here willingly. Staff makes the entire program worth it, and they’re (in my experience as of mid 2025) excellent :)

DGTY My name is Dave D Martin I entered St John's, Jan/5/2024 The process was nothing I expected, Security officers confused me even more (reminder of Rickers Island) but to my surprise the young and the old heads security officers were respectful, officer Cruz the OG stay cool. The medical staff worked thoroughly to assist with researching, diagnosing my health conditions and concerns. The counselors Amazingly Great Group I am a fan forever. Knowing I can be tough even to get to know - the staff proved me wrong. Meeting Tara P. For Art Therapy brought a calm I needed, it opened my mind and led me to being more open to the staff members. The daily Group Meetings WOW, My life forever changed. From the Group meetings I have evolved, made me recognize my Triggers cannot control them but I've learned to practice Mindfulness and Healthy boundaries. The dietitians and nutritionist are top rated in my book of professionals ,the meals provided are nutritious and well balanced 👍. We are all human without mistakes and misfortunes we can't be. I am an Alcoholic , St John's you have been a lamp for my feet ,A light for my Path. Godspeed
