Top Ranked Drug Rehab Centers In White Plains, NY

(THIS IS A REVIEW OF SPECIFICALLY THE 5 NORTH UNIT. THIS IS BASED OFF OF MY EXPERIENCES, AND THIS IS RATED HONESTLY) First of all, I would like to state that New York Presbyterian is one of the best and safest mental hospital I've ever been to and I stayed there from the 7th to the 14th of October. My experiences from Four Winds in Katonah and WMC in Valhalla has been VERY different compared to this one. So let me break it down from positives and negatives. Positives: 1. Most of the staff were very friendly and considerate, especially my care team. They were very patient with my mini outbursts, and I was able to calm down much easier because of that. My careteam was also very open towards working with my outpaitent therapist and psychiatrist with medication to help me stay regulated and implement my DBT skills better, and I never got this from WMC or Four Winds ever. Thank you to the NYP social worker Gina and Dr. Z for helping me with treatment! 2. Food was high quality for a mental hospital with the combo of also being nutritious. It helped me gain weight too because I was having issues with eating, and being in the hospital helped me with appetite. 3. There are iPads that is restricted usage, and you have the most free time using iPads during Sundays. Negatives: 1. The only negative I really have was actually a couple of the other patients that were with me at the time during the unit, which almost took me far back from recovery but I didn't, and when going to the hospital, ideally you should just focus on yourself the most, but people can always try to swerve that. One patient that was in my unit smelt like a hint of feces or pee, and one other guy seemed to bother everyone in the unit, mainly me. Despite all of this, I will keep this review as a 5 star because there weren't any fights here. Overall, like stated before, I will give this hospital a 5 star, and this hospital honestly changed the way I view psych wards. Four Winds and WMC had way too much fair share of unprofessional staff that didn't seem well trained to be nurses, unnecessary dosage raises without my outpatient pshyciartist knowing, and an overall overstimulating environment. I have not felt overly angry when I was at NYPWBH. Thank you to all of the staff that helped me.
