I have been a patient at Veterans Affairs for about 20 years, and I have been to several VA clinics and hospitals. Without a doubt, the Mena VA Clinic is the best VA clinic I have ever been to!! Every, single, person I have met at this clinic has gone over and beyond to welcome me as a new patient, and I am grateful for your kindness and professionalism!! I had a life changing break through at this place. The councilors go above expectations, the curriculum is very helpful and the techs are amazing especially Cassie! Some of the rules are a headache but it's really a laid back atmosphere. The food is amazing, and the only rude people are the higher ups and admission which u don't have to deal with cause they won't deal with u once ur a resident. The 60 days goes by quickly. Visitation is everywhere week, dollar general is the weeks in between. Take some groceries cause your hungry the first 2 weeks till u go to the store. Also take cash for the vending machines. U can have make up, hair tools, blanket, crafts, and u can have walmart orders delivered but only 20 items a month not including hygiene. Hope this helps

We had our family member that had to stay a couple days in the hospital on med surge and let me tell you the staff there was absolutely wonderful! Nurses were so supportive and kind! The nurse Bethany and the CNA Kalli were so sweet and kind and showed what real care and compassion is even when she was afraid of being alone because being hospitalized is no fun! She stated they treated her like family and took away the fear of being alone and that speaks volumes and shows there is still kindness and compassion in the healthcare profession! Thank you guys greatly! We love our EOMC hospital in Leflore county!

I was recently there for a two night stay. Aside from the ER registration lady being inattentive and less than friendly my stay was very comfortable. The ER nurses, floor nurses, aides, and the APRN Ms.Davis were all extremely caring and thoughtful to myself and my family. Being hospitalized is not on anyone’s to do list but the staff made it as comfortable as possible.

Jack Brown Center helps Native American juveniles to stop an active addiction while learning to live and cope without the source for the addiction. The staff that was there during my stay was an exceptional group of people. A day is always busy with a large variety of activities such as basketball, kickball, weight lifting, trust fall, disc golf, 12 step meeting's, chess, billiards, Native American chants, going in a Cherokee(I think) sweat lodge, help cooking meals once earned, learning to sew, and my favorite game we referred to as, hoccer, which involved a massive 5' or 6' yoga like ball. At the time I didn't always see it, but the rules were reasonable and helpful such as room had to stay clean, bed was made daily and one form of discipline for breaking rules was to write out a given sentence about the infraction many times. I was even allowed to paint the Choctaw nation seal on the wall while there, although my time was done before I was able to finish so hopefully someone else did. This changed my life drastically and I am always thankful for my experience at the Jack Brown Center!
