The facilities were really comfortable - good A/C throughout, a nice rec room and a gym with everything you need, beds were very comfortable, showers were great with hot water on demand, and the views there are fantastic. I have been a patient at Veterans Affairs for about 20 years, and I have been to several VA clinics and hospitals.
Without a doubt, the Mena VA Clinic is the best VA clinic I have ever been to!! Every, single, person I have met at this clinic has gone over and beyond to welcome me as a new patient, and I am grateful for your kindness and professionalism!! Thank you to all who serve at the Mena VA Clinic!!!

I was admitted for pneumonia, low grade fever and whelps all over my body. My wife brought me into the ER in a wheelchair due to dizziness and weakness. The ER got me admitted quickly and the ER staff began to immediately assess my well being and symptoms. Even though there was a sudden influx of several more patients into ER, the staff took vitals, blood, and X ray of my lungs and determined I needed a CT scan. They kept my wife apprised of results. I was moved to Gen Surg where I stayed for 5 days. The staff on that floor communicated and worked as a team to not only treat my pneumonia effectively, but the other patients as well. The EOMC may not have sparkling painted walls, but it is a Community Hospital that has caring, professional staff, clean rooms and good food. Although the hospital may not be able to treat every ailment, the hospital staff knows their limits and will send patients to larger hospitals if that is the need. They are a part of Poteau’s community and they serve us well.

We had our family member that had to stay a couple days in the hospital on med surge and let me tell you the staff there was absolutely wonderful! Nurses were so supportive and kind! The nurse Bethany and the CNA Kalli were so sweet and kind and showed what real care and compassion is even when she was afraid of being alone because being hospitalized is no fun! She stated they treated her like family and took away the fear of being alone and that speaks volumes and shows there is still kindness and compassion in the healthcare profession! Thank you guys greatly! We love our EOMC hospital in Leflore county!

I was recently there for a two night stay. Aside from the ER registration lady being inattentive and less than friendly my stay was very comfortable. The ER nurses, floor nurses, aides, and the APRN Ms.Davis were all extremely caring and thoughtful to myself and my family. Being hospitalized is not on anyone’s to do list but the staff made it as comfortable as possible.

This place I went there last year and I am trying to get back in there now. It was the best facility I’ve ever been in the nicest people who worked there and the doctors or so amazing I’m hoping they will let me come back if they have a bed, i’ve been to other facilities and had bad experience. The only one I would be in is McAllister Carl Albert. They are the best.

They are always quick to help with any issues rather issues transportation or payments even mental health services. I have been fortunate to have a great therapist to help me work through my problems and hold me accountable. With Thanksgiving coming up, it made me think about last year.How they took their own time and money to make a dinner for all the patients. It was many of their only dinner for thanksgiving and I really saw the joy on their faces. It truly shows how much they care and how far they will go to help. I wanna thank them very much!!

I had a life changing break through at this place. The councilors go above expectations, the curriculum is very helpful and the techs are amazing especially Cassie! Some of the rules are a headache but it's really a laid back atmosphere. The food is amazing, and the only rude people are the higher ups and admission which u don't have to deal with cause they won't deal with u once ur a resident. The 60 days goes by quickly. Visitation is everywhere week, dollar general is the weeks in between. Take some groceries cause your hungry the first 2 weeks till u go to the store. Also take cash for the vending machines. U can have make up, hair tools, blanket, crafts, and u can have walmart orders delivered but only 20 items a month not including hygiene. Hope this helps

First time I’ve ever had to use the VA Emergency Room in Muskogee, and I have to say I was impressed.
I went in for a dog bite to my hand that had happened about 72 hours earlier. I was checked in within about 15 minutes, got my vitals taken and wristband, and then waited about an hour and a half to get back to a room. They were extremely busy, though. A couple of veterans in the waiting room who had been there before even said it was the busiest they had ever seen it.
Once they got me back, everything moved pretty quickly. The nurse took my vitals and the doctor came in shortly after. He had already reviewed my records, knew my tetanus shot was still good, looked at my hand, and explained what he wanted to do.
They sent me over for X-rays and offered to wheel me over, but I told them I could walk. I signed in at X-ray and literally about a minute later they called me back. Got the X-rays done, walked back to the ER, and within probably 5–10 minutes the doctor had already reviewed them. He came back in, explained what they showed, what the plan was, prescribed me an antibiotic, and told me what to watch for and to come back if anything changed.
The nurse brought my paperwork in, took my wristband off, and I headed down to the pharmacy. Turned in the prescription and within about two minutes I had my medicine and was walking out the door.
I know the VA gets a bad rap from a lot of people, and I’m sure everyone has different experiences, but I can only speak about mine. For as busy as they were, I thought they did a great job. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional, and seemed to genuinely care.
Muskogee VA was on point for me. Definitely a five-star experience.

Absolutely wonderful experience with Leslie Hughes and her nurse (cannot remember her name im sorry) very thoughtful, thorough, warm, professional. The woman who did my labs also was awesome. Thank you!
I need to add that Redbird dental clinic is absolutely wonderful. Dr. Beavers and also the dentist i usually see (young woman with red hair) are so professional and kind and extremely good at what they do. They are thorough in explanations and the procedures have been pain free. Thank you! 🙏❤️
