Grateful, I am able to get help on an individual basis & my counselor seems approachable and doesn't act better than us. I am happy that I quit the Twin Lakes Program & asked my PO if I could begin Recovery Concepts so I can work, fulfill my family obligations, my legal, enjoy my children's school programs. This program's design also encourages me to attend NA for support. 6 years ago I first thought coming to a program for help was dumb. but learned that it's a good thing to find the help needed. I am one who struggles with change so I am glad that I am not kicked out for being open and honest like I was at Twin Lakes and Pyramid. Also glad that I do not have to sit in groups for like 10 hours a week, which cripples my ability to sustain employment. Recovery Concepts should be commended for the work they do!! 6 years ago Some people are negative when they are UNSDC from any program.. If you work and communicate your scheduling needs they try to work with you. I haven’t had a problem here & I left Pyramid due to (9) months of IOP. Now, that’s ridiculous!!!!! 7 years ago

Not only did I complete the 30 day program I met some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Starting with the counselors and case managers, my counselor Ms Mo she is tough but the most helpful and supportive person and I needed your toughness and more importantly she knew I needed that as well and for that I thank her and Mrs bam omg she is the sweetest person ever and helped me everytime and always was there when I needed to talk which was a lot and for that thank you so much. But long term, Pyrimid and my team for MAT and MH have been amazing to me. I know it was a struggle at first due to my high anxiety with new things. But they went beyond to help me. It’s a rehab and a partial hospitalization program which means people with severe psychological problems are roaming around . The staff are aware of who the threats are, but the patient does not. Your head always needs to be on a swivel. In my opinion it was more threatening than a holding center or jail. Couldn’t have a pair of nail clippers for safety concerns, but here’s a metal horseshoe in the horseshoe pit. I will say this, the best counselor I’ve ever had was from here, Joe. It feels like yesterday I was at the cove... The location and programming of cove was unlike any other. I felt supported, not medicated. I felt empowered with opportunities to understand my body and psyche. I was educated and exposed to so many helpful tools I still carry with me today. From journaling, to exercise, to nature, to meditation, to spiritual studies (Christianity), to psychology and attachment/trauma theories. I was a lost cause. I was arrested 29 times over 10 years. Had been incarcerated more times than I could count including SCI Muncy. I will never forget what your staff showed, did and helped me with. I don't know just one thing that changed things for me... I just know it was the program as a whole and the opportunities and education given that helped me find my courage to change. To gain self reflection, self discipline, self control, and self empowerment. Thank you cove forge staff for saving my life... I now have a college degree, working in nursing, have my own home (owned) on 6 beautiful country acres, two vehicles of my own, my children all back in my custody and home, and I don't take a second for granted. You found the light in me and brought it to the surface. You supported me when everyone else said I'd need medication the rest of my life to function normally. I feel proud to report, the Cove empowered me and kept a boundary to let me "try" without medication... and I am 9.5 years sober without any psych meds or MAT. You empowered me to find out who I really was as a person... My only sadness... Is that I had found the cove sooner... Maybe I could've spared my family and my children some of the pain. They definitely saved my life love all the counselors and staff. If you're truly ready to quit this is the place to go they will help you get through everything to succeed in your recovery. I'm now phasing down to get off the methadone as well if I can do it anyone can!!! Jessica Herold 1 month ago Now that I've been going to this particular location for going on 6 years... (Will be 6 years this November 2O25)... I've had time to process a whole lot. The counselors are very caring. They're really helpful and kind. They want to see you do well. The nurses are super friendly. So are the doctors. As far as wait times, well, TBH, that all depends on what time you get there during the morning. Like me for example. I go daily now and I try to go before 6am, if I get there before 6am, and I don't have a UA, I'm usually in and out in about 5-10 minutes. In my opinion, this is one of the better clinics in the Hagerstown area. They all want to see you do good and stay clean and sober for the rest of your life. Not saying you'll have to be here that long, but, just enough to get stable to where you feel safe and comfortable with yourself. I also wanted to say that I've had about 4 or 5 counselors since I've been going there and IDK why the counselors keep leaving or getting let go. The one I have now, she seems pretty nice. Also, FYI: As of June 1st 2024, their hours will be changing. The cutoff time for dosing will now be 12 Noon, instead of 1pm. I think it's because of the lack of counselors and nursing staff. My experience with 3 counselors over 3 years was wonderful. It has been a much more personal experience, a give and take that was different from past places. With 2 of them they had been previous addicts, but all have had wisdom and encouragement. At other places it was just be me telling my life story and them bieng very gaurded about any personal details which made it less likely for me to be totally honest and not make progress in the counseling sessions. . The nurses are very kindly people as well and, unlike other clincs will accommodate me as a 40 year old man they will find another man to supervise the urinalysis instead of making me pee with a beautiful young nurse standing next to me, which I feel is inappropriate. I can say everyone is very friendly since a surly old bird of a nurse left 2 yrs ago. Maybe I just have an exceptionally good attitude or drank too much of the syzurp, but I feel if you put forth any effort in your recovery, these people will more than meet you halfway. I still remember the staff I had I was up there earlier today because my dad lives in the retirement community right before it so much has changed over the years. It looks completely different from when it did in the 90s the retirement community was not there then. The horse barn is still there. Most the cottages are gone I was in Riber and white cottage I went to school on campus only for a year and they let me go to zilenople high school cause I earned it I was not an easy child to deal with.
