I've been coming here for treatment for about 2.5 years now, and have gotten great treatment the entire time. The staff cares and genuinely wants to help. I had to go through a couple therapists to get to my current one, but she is an absolute godsend and I'm so incredibly thankful I was able to become her patient. Her name is Kristin, and she's absolutely fantastic. I always know I can reach out to her and get excellent advice. She actually took the time to work her way in through my incredibly thick walls I've built around myself, and put in the effort to actually understand me and how I work. She's never made me feel bad for anything, and knows how to push me to saying/doing what I need to. She's actually made me want to go to therapy. My biggest praise to sing for her is from earlier today, which spurred me to write this review. She just called me, from home, ON HER DAY OFF, to check on me because of an email I sent her last night. She took the time out of her day, unpaid, to call me and make sure that I'm okay and that I'm safe. I'll never forget that. The clinicians and staff are knowledgeable, compassionate and passionate about what they do. I attended the IOP program a year ago. My experience there was so impactful on my overall wellbeing. I now work in mental health myself and confidently refer patients their way knowing they will be supported through their mental health and sobriety journey. Katy Butterly 9 months ago I want to add a personal review of River Rock under my name because I’m truly happy of the program and what it has done for my family. I don’t necessarily identify as being an alcoholic but used substances as a way to cope with bad times. Through the intensive outpatient therapy program River Rock provides I was able to gain a clear understanding of how to navigate problems at home. I went through the process a few years ago and then my husband felt compelled (thankfully) to do so after. Since then, we’ve been able to navigate life in a more healthy manner. They use a multi-faceted approach of different therapies including CBT, DBT, life coaching, adventure therapy, group sessions and one-on-one therapy to make sure that people get the help they need! We’ve been able to create a more holistic life that benefits us and use the tools given to get through hard times. We are more connected and practice self care including cold plunges and are building a space to install a sauna at home. Communication is better, my husband has been alcohol free for over a year and a half and we are able to navigate life much better. If you are questioning getting help in any capacity, I would recommend at least reaching out to River Rock. There is no shame in wanting to take steps to achieving a more healthy outlook on life. Emily Robtoy 3 years ago Lund helped my husband and I find the greatest gift in life and that was a child, a precious little girl who is now 22 and has started the process of adopting her first foster son. Lund didn’t stop caring about our family after the adoption was final. Wanda has been part of our lives in one way or another. She was here for my daughter when she needed references for work, she was here when she started Fostering and the babies were reunited with their birth families. She always has comforting words when things are down and she has praises even things are going great. Support this organization with everything you've got. It might be our last hope. COMMUNITY WARNING: A Level 1 Trauma Center in Burlington Vermont and the BPD are cooperating in a system that denies mental health treatment and Howard is taking over. A friend was escorted out by security after saying they were going to hurt themselves. The nurses said "this is not a hotel" and that the patient was too medically stable to be allowed to stay there (they claimed hospital and insurance policies). Upon calling the police and informing them of the situation, ON A RECORDED LINE: Question: "Can the hospital discharge a patient if they have said they are going to harm themselves?" PO: "That is their policy, there is nothing we can do." Howard Mental health is stepping in today, but be VERY careful out there with your mental health friends. The system is being rigged against us because we are expensive and give bad feelings. Everyone is safe for now but the system is failing. Be careful and stay safe. Mark Hemley 3 years ago
