Bryan, Texas | BVCASA–Brazos Valley Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse, in Bryan, Texas, is a comprehensive, 12 step-focused drug and alcohol rehab for adolescents and adults. They offer dual diagnosis care, prevention and intervention services, drug screenings, and outpatient and aftercare programming. Residential and outpatient treatment is also available | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My parents sent me here after I was in the psychward after I overdosed and bro I kid you not ALL they do is give you a paper and be like “okay let’s read this” like bro it was so boring and useless and there was like 2 other kids in my group so half the time we’d just be sitting there doing nothing. The “coping skills” they try to give you are laughably bad especially after hard drug abuse. They’re used to kids who maybe smoked a little weed and maybe did acid once not kids who were heavy into benzos and fake percs. This place was literally just a bite to go to and I’d zone out the whole time basically. I talked to another kid in there what he thought about it and he said the same thing. That kids parents sent him to REHAB for smoking weed a couple times. Like bro stop wasting our time they need to have like actual activities or something and the staff is all rude and I was kicked out wrongly because they said I missed 3 days in a row but I had only missed 2 😭 this place sucks so bad and also they hated the idea of me trying to get a job. They would suggest stupid useless things like working for free at an animal shelter 😂 like how is that gonna help with my psychosis from Xanax withdrawals?? And also when we got a new therapist she had no idea what to do and asked up what we usually do and we had no idea what to tell her because all we do is read papers so she just let us leave early 🤦♂️

So I have mixed feelings about this place, I experienced psychosis and went here to seek treatment and it wasn’t really for me. The group therapy sessions were too long and too all over the place and one of the therapist used ChatGPT to guide them through the entire day which I found very unprofessional. The environment here is very positive and safe but there are many many negative things said which promotes negative feelings and looking at things from a negative light overall it wasn’t for me

I wasn't there for long, but I can see the good this place does for people. I left due to inner conflictions of faith, but that wouldn't be the case with the vast majority of people who come here. I would recommend to 99% of people who have addiction issues, as this place is a hidden haven for those who need it the most. I appreciated a lot of the staff. The fact that all of them used to go here at one point gives another element that adds to the success of this place. Appreciate the willingness to help and to accept anyone no matter who they are. Thank you, kindly.

I went through the Bay Area Recovery Center, and it completely changed my life. After getting a DUI, I was required to go through this program to keep my job — but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
I’ve now been clean and sober for almost 10 months. The staff truly care and helped me believe in myself again. A huge thank you to Mr. Billy and Blake and everyone there for guiding me through my recovery.
My DUI was recently dismissed, and I believe it’s because God saw the change in me. My wife and kids thank you too — you didn’t just help me, you helped restore my family. If you’re struggling, I highly recommend this program. It gave me my life back.

I was referred to The Arbor by a close friend who got sober here 5 years ago, and I’m so glad I trusted them. I was turned off to AA before coming here because of the whole God thing. I had gone to other treatment centers before and tried alternative recovery programs, but never cracked open a big book until I got here. I came in through The Arbor’s doors as a husk of a human being. I was miserable in my addiction and miserable the multiple times I tried to get sober on my own. I couldn’t stand to sit in my own skin. I was desperate for a solution - a way out of my suffering. I gave my all to this program and trusted the direction of the staff and reaped the benefits almost immediately. My recovery manager, Mike, changed my life. He loved me when I couldn’t love myself. Never in any of my past treatment experiences have we had someone directly in charge of our recovery program. The recovery managers act as a stand in sponsor while you’re in treatment and hold you accountable for progressing in your step work. This is a true dual diagnosis facility as well. My therapist Gabi was very supportive in my journey here, as I do struggle with co-occurring disorders. EMDR is an option for those with trauma who are staying long term (which I highly recommend if you can). Equine therapy was another asset - I had Danielle and worked with Tilly and gained a whole new set of tools for coping and regulation that I wouldn’t have gained in traditional talk therapy. The psychiatrists and medical team are highly qualified and don’t just push pills for the sake of pushing pills. Every single staff member at The Arbor is committed to helping you grow in your recovery. From the admissions team (shout out Tiffany) to the support staff, this place made me feel like I was in good hands every step of the way. I left with a newfound sense of self worth and direction and confidence in myself to keep working the program. Thank you to The arbor for giving me my life back. I highly recommend this facility for any out there who are still suffering and genuinely want to live a life worth living.

This place is ALMOST like a resort. The property and facilities are beautiful. The food was always amazing , and the head chef is great. He always greets everybody with a smile and takes pride in what he serves. All the BHT were awesome too. This was my first time in rehAb and the fact they never take away. your phone and I could order off Amazon made it soo much easier. The only thing I would add is somehow pairing you up with someone who is a little ahead of you coming off the same substance. So you can ask them what to expect. I literally walked around asking everybody" What's your DOC?" I only found one person. Seemed 80% of residents were there for alcohol. I was there for Fetty& Meth. Took subs too early got PSw which sucked but the nurses did what they could to help and I survived. I did complete the 30 day residential and recommend.

I came in completely broken and out of options, and from the moment I arrived, the staff met me with compassion, honesty, and the structure I desperately needed. This was the first place where I felt truly seen—not just as someone struggling with addiction, but as a human being who deserved healing and hope.
The Arbor gave me the gift of desperation that turned into the gift of freedom. I left with tools, confidence, and a sense of purpose I didn’t think I’d ever feel again. If you are struggling—or if you love someone who is—this is where you want to be. I am living proof that recovery is possible, and The Arbor is the reason I’m sober today.

I meant to share this sooner, but life after treatment got busy fast. Looking back now, I’m beyond grateful for my time at The Arbor because it gave me the tools, structure, and support I needed to step back into life with confidence.
Reaching out for help wasn’t easy. I felt ashamed for losing the sobriety I had worked hard for, and I didn’t want to admit I needed treatment again. But reaching out to The Arbor was truly the best decision I made for myself. Taylor Anne Ramsey was the first person I connected with, and she met me with nothing but compassion. She never judged me—she just wanted to help. From there, she connected me with Tiffany Tidwell, who immediately made me feel safe and reassured that I was in good hands. That was the moment I knew The Arbor’s treatment would live up to the warmth and energy both Taylor Anne and Tiffany showed me.
Within days of arriving, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome—it was immediate. Rachel had an incredible way of being both kind and firm, holding us accountable while still showing care. Tamara and Bella were amazing in our one-on-ones, offering thoughtful feedback that pushed me to look within and begin real healing. Mike, my RA, never sugarcoated things, and I honestly appreciated that tough love more than I can explain.
Some people stood out not just for what they did, but for the size of their hearts. Jimmie, Miss J, and Miranda were unforgettable. They carried so much love and energy into the program that you couldn’t help but feel lifted up by them.
And I can’t leave out the meals—Dom and her kitchen team made food that wasn’t just good, it was made with love. It sounds small, but those meals were such a comfort and part of what made The Arbor feel like home.
The programming itself was excellent—structured, engaging, and exactly what I needed at the time. But more than the curriculum, it was the people who made the difference. The staff didn’t just work there; they cared, they showed up, and they created an environment where healing was truly possible.
My experience at The Arbor was GREAT. No complaints, and I will recommend it for as long as I can. I walked away with tools, support, and a renewed sense of hope—and that’s something I’ll always carry with me.

Sage Recovery and Wellness Center is truly a healing place. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the peace and care that went into creating such a beautiful environment. The property itself is stunning — from the pool and hot tub to the cozy spaces throughout the villa (which feels more like a luxury home than a facility).
The daily schedule may look full at first, but it’s so thoughtfully structured. Over time, you start building healthy habits and routines that carry into your everyday life after you leave. Some of my favorite parts were equine therapy at the Healing Horses Ranch (the staff there are amazing!), accudetox, yoga, and personal training. Everything is designed to help you reconnect with yourself and appreciate the little things again.
The villa is gorgeous — spacious, peaceful, and filled with comforts like books to read, a beautiful kitchen, and incredible chef-made meals. But what truly makes Sage special is the staff. They don’t just show up for you — they get down in the trenches with you. They listen, they care, and they help guide you out of the darkness with compassion and understanding.
The clients I met there became like family. Everyone is going through something, and it’s so powerful to feel seen, supported, and understood in that way. The therapists and curriculum are absolutely life-changing — I learned so many coping skills that I use every day.
I am beyond grateful for my time at Sage. It was one of the most transformative experiences of my life, and I genuinely believe they saved my life. If you’re ready to work on yourself and heal, this is the place to do it. 💛

Very disappointed. They were aware that I believed in harm reduction and keeping on lowest dose possible. They even joked about how I came and went. It was clear from the counselors that this was not an issue until it was. I was denied readmittance despite having a low dose, not being late financially, using other drugs, and not missing doses other than when I decided to try alternative methods. Their initial actions and their constant beliefs gave me a false sense of security and belief that they took understood people have different tracts they need to follow. I was wrong. C.A.R.S. is a wolf in sheep's clothing. A lie disguised as a treatment center.

I have been to 7 different clinics between Utah, cali, Texas; and CARS in Tomball is the best I have been to. If it weren’t for Kimberley there is no way I would be doing as good as I am. She has been there to talk me through hard times, reminded me how strong I am, if something comes up (out of town, or surgeries etc.) Kimberley, the nurses, and doctor do all they can to accommodate my needs. Other clinics made me feel like a burden, or like I was putting them out, or a pain. I have never had a counselor as amazing as Kimberly. I thought I was losing my dad, and the support Kimberly gave me, I have never had. She didn’t rush me out, I had to go back to my home state and she helped me make a relapse prevention plan, checked in on me, and has never made me feel like an addict. She has helped set me up to succeed, not fail. I have almost two years sober and if I didn’t have her support as well as Leah and Art and Chase I wouldn’t have made it this far. I’ve never had this kind of support in a program as I do now. Kimberly is the reason I stay at this clinic; “the best counselor I’ve had.” Leah, Art and Chase are all bonuses! My teen has been to this place twice over a years time frame and did an IOP and PHP program. We felt both times that their treatment and care for the teens was really great and the information shared in family was always helpful. Would definitely recommend this place for families looking to find mental health care for their teens.

Houston, Texas | Center for Discovery Houston provides outpatient mental and behavioral health care for youth and adults recovering from co-occurring eating disorders and mental illness, including addiction, in Houston, Texas. They offer partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), and aftercare programming, including speciali | Treatments Programs Payment Options | This is one of the most incredible, inclusive, and inspiring facilities I have ever had the pleasure of attending. The staff members are some of the most compassionate and intelligent people to walk the earth. From the dietitians to the therapists, from the techs to the facilitators, everyone there is so educated and beyond qualified for their position. And, aside from just their job description, they are some of the most empathetic and incredible people I have ever met. At admission, I was not buying the entire recovery thing. But since then, I have learned things here concerning my self and the world that have forever transformed my life and my perspective on it. I thank God everyday that He gave me the opportunity to cross paths with this organization and the wonderful characters which constitute it. I strongly encourage you to look into attending cfd houston. I am very confident in saying that it will forever change your life in a way which you will never regret.

I went to Nova almost 9 months ago and I wouldn’t change it for the world. The staff when I first entered were very nice and welcoming. As a 19 year old that didn’t know what I was getting myself into they welcomed me with open arms. All the RA’s care about you and want you to succeed. Now when it comes to the recovery specialist, they all know what they are talking about. All of them work a very strong 12 step program and go through the steps with you. Having individual meetings with your RS really helped me understand the steps and what I need to do to stay sober. I thank Nova for saving my life and showing me a new way to live.

Nova is an amazing place for people who really want to recover from a hopeless state of mind and body. What I loved about my experience there was how much I learned, and the tools that I had when I left there. Treatment for me was never the sole solution, but what it did was provide me with an atmosphere for healing, and the tools to maintain sobriety. Ryan R. was my recovery specialist and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help guide me through the steps of recovery. The knowledge of the staff and their ability to do what’s best for their clients (not always what the client thinks is best) is something which I admire. So many places want to sugar coat a life and death situation, which Nova does not.
While a lot of treatment facilities focus on the amenities to bring people in, Nova focused on the ultimate goal, learning the solution for addiction.
The place feels like a mini college campus in a very beautiful place. They plug you in to the recovery community through out your stay to help guide you once you leave. I recommend this place to family and friends who are looking for a place.

Austin, Texas | Driftwood Recovery – Riverside is a residential drug rehab located in Austin, Texas. Their facilities offer breathtaking views of the mountains and access to restorative walking and hiking trails. They offer detox services, a seven-day inpatient or outpatient stabilization program, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Driftwood was a wonderful place for my daughter to deal with her substance addiction and mental illness. The staff was very qualified and services for her mental health needs were excellent. The program created a family environment that supported each other during inpatient, outpatient and aftercare. They have a well planned Family weekend that was essential in helping us, help her as best we can. Driftwood taught my daughter to enjoy life without needing to escape it with drugs. They plan activities for alumni often and meet weekly. I believe their approach and staff are one of the best in the area.
The only negative was that I had to advocate for my daughter to receive some of the therapies promised at admission. Once I talked to the staff they followed through and she received the agreed upon treatment. So I consider that a minor problem and it was resolved quickly.
I would recommend Driftwood Recovery to anyone needing this type of services.
