I graduated from the program back in 2004? (O.O). When I was there I hated it (thought I did, but really I loved it), didn't know just how valuable the experience was until I left. Returning to regular society, I saw just how much that place gave me, and is still giving. I would like to give back.
Back then there was just two camps Red River (my camp) and Pecos, and they were in the middle of constructing the third camp, think it was Greenhorn or something like that. My, God, the memories. My healthy respect for technology comes from that place. Made me a nature lover. Much love, y'all. Hit me up sometime. Hunt, TX | La Hacienda Treatment Center is an elite residential addiction rehab in Hunt, Texas. This facility sits on a 40 acre campus in the Texas Hill Country. It is surrounded by rugged hills of limestone covered by wildflowers, live oak and juniper trees. Immersing yourself in this natural setting seems like the perfect recipe for addiction recovery. R | Treatments Programs Payment Options | La Hacienda truly changed my life. I’ve been to treatment centers all over the state of Texas, and La Hacienda was the last treatment center I ever had to go to. The 28 days I spent there helped save my life and gave me the foundation I needed for long term recovery.
The staff genuinely care and are always available to help, encourage, and support clients through every stage of the process. The program is strongly rooted in a 12 step approach, which was exactly what I needed, while also offering specialized programming to meet different individual needs.
The campus is beautiful, peaceful, and very clean, creating an environment where healing feels possible. The medical staff were also incredible and made me feel safe and cared for throughout my stay.
I will always be grateful for the experience I had at La Hacienda and for the role they played in helping me rebuild my life.

Our family’s experience with LaHa left a lasting impression on me. My son first went there at a time when he wasn’t ready to embrace recovery and after that, he spent time at many other treatment centers. When he finally reached the point where he was ready to get better La Hacienda was the place he wanted to go. That spoke volumes to me. Out of everywhere he had been, La Hacienda was the place where he felt the most comfortable and cared for. It was a place that made him believe that recovery was possible.
As a mother, I understood very little about addiction so I attended 4 different family programs at his various treatment centers and the one at LaHa was by far the best. When my son returned to LaHa he specifically asked his dad to attend the family session. It was here that he finally understood addiction as a disease and was given the perspective he needed to not only support our son’s recovery but his own through attending our local Alanon. We highly recommend La Hacienda.

Warriors Heart in Bandera, TX was the safest spot I could’ve landed when my life was burning down. I came in drowning in booze, broken from childhood abuse, combat PTSD, and straight rage. They gave me the tools to start building something solid out of all that wreckage.
Biggest lesson for me was Ego. I thought I had one, maybe two. Nah, I had a fleet of them! All those past traumas twisting up and firing off as anger. Warriors Heart helped me see it, strip it down, and start putting in the real work.
Most of the staff are real ones, and they show up every day with wisdom, patience, and love.
It wasnt a magic fix. But it’s where the construction starts, new foundations can be started, and for me, that made all the difference. 🙏

SARC saved my life. My life had become unmanageable and was spiraling out of control. I was still working my full time successful career, but it was only a matter of time before I could have lost everything I’ve spent my life building. Tired of waking up with a black box of wine on my nightstand I threw lord knows what into my suitcase and checked into Cagnon for 38 days. For a girl accustomed to being in complete control I was petrified. I was a mess. The staff was so welcoming and walked me through the process. Was I ready to take 12 weeks off of work? It was life or death and I chose life. The detox process was tough. Reba and Alan made me as comfortable as I could be. I had sweats and nightmares. Roy, a lead counselor calmed me down. My job for 5 days was sleep, hydrate and rest. Gen the program Director Is fabulous. She kept assuring me trust in the process. Allow myself time to heal, grieve and let someone take care of me for once. The days are very structured with wellness, nutrition, groups, education, counseling. Nutrition and routine and self discipline are key. We have one job while in treatment. Show up!! It’s impossible not to learn, grow and learn valuable tools and coping skills to set you up for a lifetime of sobriety. All counselors know your name and your case. They are always available to lend an ear and advice. The center is staffed with people in long term recovery. Richard, Steven, Blake, Jess, Mandy Jo all have real life experience , Every night there is an AA meeting and fellow patients can meet in groups to do book study, talk and truly become a recovery family. This is a private facility that works with many insurance companies and helps people who need to make arrangements for private pay. The setting is serene and a wonderful place to heal. Gen, Roy and Paula are true experts in their field. Each with their own individual techniques and special touches to group sessions. I am for ever indebted to the techs, counselors and Karen and Raul Ruelas for their relentless passion in fighting for those struggling with substance abuse disorder to live a long happy life free of drugs and alcohol. World class facility. Amazing caring people who pour their heart and sole into what they do. Highly recommend if your looking for a program that treats the total individual and follows up on you for life. Love you all for all you did for me. XoXo D.
Run don’t walk!! Jackie should be stripped of her license. She used her position to look up my information and called me at 6:50am in California. This woman has ZERO business running a recovery facility. She heckled me and was relentless on the phone. I filed a grievance with State and against her. So sad she’s in charge. Place went downhill after Karen and Raul sold. Tragic. Go to New Day or SOBA. She’s a disgrace to the recovery community!! Do not go there.

They accept many | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My experience with MedMark Treatment Centers has meant more to me than I ever expected. Walking in for the first time, I felt overwhelmed, nervous, and unsure if I was even ready for the process. But from day one, the staff treated me with kindness, patience, and respect, which made it a little easier to keep showing up.
What truly sets this place apart is how they treat you as a person, not just a patient. They listen without judgment and take the time to understand where you’re coming from. That alone made me feel seen in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time.
There was one moment that really changed things for me. I came in on a particularly difficult day, feeling discouraged and honestly questioning everything. Instead of just going through the motions, a staff member took the time to talk with me and remind me why I started. It wasn’t anything overly dramatic, but in that moment, something clicked—I realized I didn’t have to have everything figured out, I just had to keep going. That simple shift in mindset was a breakthrough for me.
Recovery still has its ups and downs, but having a place like this—where there is structure, support, and people who genuinely care—makes a real difference. It gives you something to hold onto when things feel uncertain.
It’s not perfect, and there can be wait times or busy days, but the compassion behind what they do truly shows. I’m grateful for the role MedMark has played in my journey, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs support, understanding, and a place to start again.

First and foremost I want to say I would give SOBA a million stars if I could. Many leave false reviews and I witnessed this multiple times.
Addicts know how to manipulate and are the best of the best at doing so.
SOBA has rules in place for 100% success and 100% safety for all in treatment.
If you violated the rules you must be terminated to keep it a safe environment for all of us that want to heal.
If a client is discharged at the fault of their own actions the first thing I heard multiple times is I am going to leave a bad review.
Thank you SOBA for taking a false bad review and keeping this a safe place to recover.
Sadly to say we are a family of 8 (YES 8) that reside in Michigan and have recovered out of state only because of SOBA.
We all have years of sobriety due to the highest standards SOBA has set to teach you a beautiful new way instead of using mind altering substances.
I was petrified at age 45 to enter a treatment center and I had an extremely bad attitude when I arrived!
I was determined to find something wrong with SOBA so I could have a reason to leave.
SOBA is different than the other treatment centers we tried multiple times in Michigan. We all failed on numerous attempts.
SOBA is loving, kind, knowledgeable, safe and a peaceful place to recover.
SOBA far exceed my expectations and I stayed in treatment for 16 months.
Our children (3) stayed in treatment for 2 years. My sister and nephews also recovered at SOBA with a lengthy stay in sober living.
It is so important to reside in sober living after inpatient and do the work. Leaving treatment early will end in failure.
If it were not for SOBA I can honestly say several of us would not be alive today.

I recently received care here just as I was entering a mental episode while seeking legal assistance. A police officer on VA duty came to my need and politely and calmly escorted me to the ER to be admitted to inpatient. While waiting in the ER, a nurse was attentive to my needs and then some, giving me sandwiches, juice and jell-o while waiting to be seen by mental health providers including a very kind social worker. I will forever be thankful to these gentleman (“B-Kool” “100 seeker” and “The Rock”) and the staff of the ER department as I remember flipping the middle finger off to some of them while going through my mental episode. Forgive me for that O.O
By the grace of God, some angelic spirit had reached out for a S.M.A.R.T team to come and evaluate me while I was waiting in the ER. Talking to that team brightened my wait and my life…especially that team’s social worker. I have never felt more like someone was trying to support and understand me with empathy and without judgement in my 10 years of seeking assistance through various medical providers. It inspired me to continue my education pursuing social work, to provide the same level of support and then some, as I finish my BS in Psychology this summer term.
THANK YOU Audie L. Murphy staff for all that you withstand and do for us veterans!
The staff at each department are to be recognized as they are patience and understanding as much as they can be with the different stages and walks of life that walk through the clinic’s entrances.
Some of us Veterans may come in with pain and mental aggravation already set in motion and project that onto the staff. Please, fellow veterans, have patience and understanding with the staff and system as God would with us.
We as veterans and prior military personnel have learned resilience in some way or another. Show that and stay cool, calm and collected. Share a smile here and there whether passing by others through the hallways or to the staff that assists you.
Love thy neighbor and everything else will fall into place. You might even have quite a positive experience by first showing the attitude you’d like to receive back. We as veterans are still here and striving for better.
Also, remember…it does get better.

I finally had to visit for a name change. Everyone I met was sweet. The advisors (in red) picked me up in the cart and delivered me to the front door and one escorted me towards the Welcome Center. They copied my document and handed me a form to fill out. It was a short form, but the enrollment person called me before I could sign my name. Apparently Friday at 9:30 is a good time to go. I originally enrolled on line to avoid driving. I will drive next time since it was so much faster and more pleasant. Also they confirmed an enrollment person is also available in New Braunfels.

San Antonio, TX | If you’re a veteran seeking addiction treatment in the San Antonio, Texas, area, you can get support at North Central Federal VA Clinic. They treat any veteran who is struggling to overcome drug or alcohol addiction. Plus, they’re a dual diagnosis center, which means that they treat mental health conditions too, such as depression, anxiety, PTS | Treatments Programs Payment Options | The commissary provides the services for which it exists, and doesn't have some of the options available at local grocery stores (with the cost savings passed to its customers), It was clean, well stocked with a variety of items, but had the limitations imposed by available space. With respect to inventory, it would be generally similar to one of the few smaller HEB stores in the San Antonio area. Most notable for me was the comparatively limited supply of meat. The beef was mostly 'Select' quality, and cuts didn't compare well to HEB beef (and neither compares well to Costco that stocks mostly Choice beef with a smaller array of Prime cuts). The commissary lighting was good (and completely adequate), though not great. Pricing compares well with local market alternatives, but the pricing differential seemed less than the days of my active duty. I suspect that is due largely to HEB's determination to provide the best overall grocery type inventory prices in any market where HEB competes. The commissary was priced lower than HEB and Walmart Superstores, but the average differential appears to run from 2%-15%, with the greatest discount coming from non food items that typically have high sales margins. Add the savings of zero sales tax on ALL items (not just food) and the savings can be very significant on some non food items. The atmosphere and area in and around the commissary felt safe by virtue of being on base, but otherwise it 'felt' a bit depressing.

My daughter attended Rise Inspire Academy for 2½ years and graduated in 2025. We were referred to the program by a close friend who works in the recovery community, and I'm truly grateful for that connection. Rise made a meaningful impact in my daughter’s life. She began her journey to recovery in 2023, and today, she’s the only clean and sober student in her graduating class. That speaks volumes about her commitment — and the support she received.
Throughout her time there, my daughter was offered counseling, coaching, and a safe place to heal and grow. The program isn’t magic, and it’s not easy. But for students who are ready to put in the work, it can work. The staff includes some very kind, devoted individuals who truly care about the kids they serve. For that, I’m thankful.
However, my experience as a parent was mixed. I found communication with the staff to be somewhat lacking. It often felt like they were focused entirely on my child — which is important — but I also felt left out of the loop and that my feedback was not always welcomed or acknowledged. That made things challenging at times.
One concern I want to raise is how my daughter was led to believe she had a chance to work at the school after graduation. She went through the process of creating a recovery plan, submitting a resume, and even had an interview with the director, Evita. But in the end, nothing came of it, with no clear explanation. I can’t help but feel this decision may have been influenced by my own willingness to speak up about certain safety concerns and the need for stronger leadership. That was disappointing, especially after the growth and hard work my daughter had shown.
Despite the challenges, I do strongly recommend Rise Inspire Academy to families with teens struggling with substance abuse. This school offers a life-changing opportunity for young people — but it requires effort, honesty, and a desire to change. For those who are ready, this program can be the turning point.
