Was there at 14 back in 2002, and it was a great program, more like a daycare, and they took us to different meetings and outings, and it felt more like a home than a placement.

Blue Heron Recovery is a rehab facility that specializes in helping people who are dealing with addiction through their outpatient programs. They can be found in San Antonio, Texas. You’ll have the flexibility to attend your daily life while you go through treatment. They view addiction as a family disease and that means that your loved ones will
Shout-out to Blue Heron Recovery in San Antonio. I was actually the second patient ever in their new detox facility, and I want to say—I was extremely impressed. First off, the medical staff was incredible. True professionals. They handled every angle of care and did their absolute best to make sure I felt as little discomfort as possible during some gnarly opioid withdrawals. Special thanks to the nurses—Sandy, Christine, Jasmine, and Veronica—who were attentive, compassionate, and consistently on point. And huge appreciation to Dr. Diaz and his wife. The communication was stellar—no fluff or runaround—and Dr. Diaz followed through on everything he said he was going to do. He genuinely cared, and that showed. He even got us all personal FM radio headsets, which was HUGE for the healing process. Little things like that go a long way when you’re in the thick of it. The facility itself had a really peaceful vibe—pretty ranch-like setting, small and intimate. There weren’t many patients, so we definitely got more personal attention. It felt like we mattered. There’s an uncovered back porch where you can soak up the sun, and in my experience, sun, sweat, and music are just as essential to detoxing as any “helper meds.” They even let detox patients use the hoops during set times—and if you know, you know. Getting some shots up does something powerful for your nervous system during withdrawal. Speaking of “helper meds,” they also made sure I was set up with a few extra days’ worth in case PAWS crept in post-discharge. That kind of thoughtful care is rare, and I’m beyond grateful for it. Now, it’s a brand-new place, so sure—there were a few rough edges. No live-action sports during the NBA playoffs (tragic, I know), and I wouldn’t have minded a few bags of Oreos to snack on. But really—only a fool would expect a brand-new facility to hit every single note on Day 1. I’m confident they’ll get the streaming and snacks dialed in soon. Truth be told, they could’ve been playing Christmas Carol reruns and I still would’ve been content—the comfort and quality of the detox itself were what mattered most. I also had the chance to meet the people running the show—Dr. Mayer and the West Point Colonel (also Dr. Mayer). The Colonel has that “get sh*t done” energy, but he’s also approachable and sharp. He doesn’t seem like the type to half-ass anything, and that mindset clearly trickles down to the staff. His wife helps run the place and matches (if not exceeds) his energy—strong leadership, strong team, strong culture. And I absolutely have to mention one of the best counselors I’ve ever worked with—and I’ve worked with plenty: Kermit. That man brought the fire. He has this gift for reading people’s strengths and weaknesses, and a presence that’s kind of like Tony Robbins with Barry Manilow’s swag. Even on days when you don’t feel like participating, Kermit will pull you in with some Jedi Recovery Mind Trick. I’d pay just to work with him again—that’s how much value he brought. Lastly, shout-out to Lisa and Heather for doing their best to make sure we had everything we needed—even if it meant running around to make it happen. Their hustle didn’t go unnoticed. All in all, Blue Heron Recovery made a huge impact on me. With the foundation they’ve built, I have no doubt it’ll be the top choice for detox in San Antonio in no time—if it isn’t already. Personally, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Blue Heron was absolutely the best place for me with my alcohol addiction. I have been sober since September 26th, so 109 days. The staff is caring, helpful and offer so much love and concern for their clients. Christine and her husband, Dr. Maher, are the owners, and they have made this facility so welcoming. They are personally involved with their clients. The property is quiet, sereen and beautiful. The counselors spend a lot of time in the classrooms offering much help and needed advice. Each person is assigned a counselor, in which they meet one-on-one once a week. Everyone is so welcoming and they make you feel at home. I got very close to Lisa, Jim, Heather, Greg, Madelyn, and, of course, Beau, the parrot. I cannot say enough about this rehab facility. I learned a lot and the entire staff truly helped me with my addiction. They will help everyone with any substance addiction. Definitely, a Five Star facility for me.

My first time using this location and my experience was great. The appointment for my labs was moved up and I was told just to show up. I explained this to the wonderful lady behind the counter and she said no problem, I’ll just hand print my labels out. My wait time was less than ten minutes. The lab technician was awesome, courteous, and professional. She managed to find my veins without any problems, something others have a problem with, and I was out in under five minutes. I have an appointment next week to see the doctor so I hope that goes just as well.

My neighbor needed me to take him to Wilford Hall. He is 88 years old and was in need of the ER. I had never been to Wilford Hall, but he always talked so highly of the medical service he received. I was very impressed by the level of care he received. I was with him for 6 hours until it was determined he would be admitted to BAMC. At that point, I left the care facility. The entire time I was there, they checked on him. Very attentive to his needs. They gave him the best care. His nurse Thomas and Thompson did and outstanding job. May the Lord continue to bless all the great medical staff at Wilford Hall

I had to do a substance evaluation and I chose The Best Option, LLC because it could be don't virtually and I struggle with driving due to health issues, agoraphobia, and just the fear. ( I lost my best friend in a car accident 15 years ago.) They were one of the few options that were available virtually and since COVID it has been a God send that these options are available now. I was pretty nervous because ultimately the decision of Ms. Helen decided my future involvement that could have been really intensive if they were unethical. I firmly believe that Ms. Helen is completely unbiased and understanding with ability to place herself in another person's shoes. My session was wonderful and I was uplifted many times even though most of my life that never really occurred. Due to a bunch of different factors. Even when I accepted perceived blame from my own emotional state of learned behavior self deprecating my views of myself Ms. Helen was about to pierce the view and see the true me hiding behind all the stigmas and biases I have had placed on me from a young age. She understood challenges that I have had to endure over the last 15 years and have solely placed blame on myself all this time and validated things I didn't even know needed to be validated let alone understood. I have don't countless amounts of therapy including casual weekly, inpatient in a hospital involuntary & voluntarily, I have done partial hospitalization therapy, outpatient therapy, and has never once been truly understood from a perspective of compassion, and tolerance. Even when I went to place blame on myself, or be negatively self couscous about myself. She was way more encouraging than any therapist I have had in the past and incredibly uplifting. Before the session I was terrified because it was 2 hours long anda good friend of mine dealt with my same situation a decade prior and the counselor was extremely unethical who verbally told him to record the information on a form for the past 5 years, but on the given form it had written instructions for the last 12 months. So when he filled it out according to the form instructions she concluded that he was trying deceive the counselor to which he was order counseling as a result. So I was terrified of unethical behavior not only from that, but I also have a background in healthcare (except not on psych) and I have witnessed things that may not have been technically illegal, they were definitely unethical in my definition. But that is what healthcare means in the USA, the bottom dollar of profit. I completely believe that I was respected (in a situation that a lot of people would not have respect for me), I felt completely understood and heard, I got validation for things I didn't even know I needed validation from, and most importantly I didn't feel like they were trying to take advantage of me or milk me for more sessions, counseling or group therapy (which I have experienced in the past with various organizations, hospitals, etc.) I actually might even CHOOSE to go back even at the price. I have looked at other reviews of this LLC, and I wanted to acknowledge, these counselor and therapist HAVE to ask hard questions, they may even ask questions that don't make sense to you, but there is a process. I have been beyond forgiving in WAY worse situations than The Best Option, LLC put me in. I came out of a two hour session kind of proud of the things I have diminished about myself for so long. It was a very pleasant experience. Also when I did t respond to the follow up email asking me to confirm the information I their assessment. I didn't have to find out the hard way, they proactively called me get the ball rolling. If you do not know how rare that is in healthcare, let alone, mental health I couldn't be able to comprehend your blissful existence without these hiccups in the industry that can and will go unnoticed even ina cancer diagnosis. Out of everything I have gone through and experienced of my time with these type of scenarios, therapies, and evaluations. I approve 9,000% of Ms. Helen.

I was not looking forward to this. But as soon as I had my first couple classes, I realized that I was actually enjoying them very much. My instructors were down to earth and funny. As long as you can pay the 25 bucks each class and literally be able to do no more than 5-10 min of homework a week, it’s very easy and rewarding. Thank you Cathy, Melanie and Ben!

I recently had a loved one go through Burning Trees program. Let me start off by saying it was a huge Blessing having him there. It was by the grace of God that we were all put there. The entire Staff and program was everything I didn’t know of, but everything I could have hoped for. Both my son as well as my wife and I learned so much about how addiction is truly a family disease, that has to be worked on by the whole Family. He as well as our family has taken away so much from the time spent there and also the family program offered there. I thought going into this, that rehab was time spent in the program and then get out and live it alone which seemed hard for me to grasp. The staff at Burning Tree showed me that they are there for you while you’re learning the steps, during aftercare, as well as your journey through life. My hats off to everyone over at Burning Tree for showing my son a better way of everything, and me a better way of everything. Hunter, Doug, Russell, and all other staff are such great humans that God sent into our lives and for that I am forever grateful. That doesn’t take away from the countless other counselors and people in this journey, but they were closest to me when I need updates and reassurance. I have to speak about the Family Program in particular real quick without trying to give to much “unsolicited advice”, but this program did so much for my wife and I reconnecting and strengthen our relationship with our son. After seeing everything and learning everything that the program has to offer, it has opened so much communication between us. Doug Wade leads a phenomenal family program and has much knowledge and so many ways of showing one how to “Love Differently”. I am so happy that we all got to experience that. My son is going on 4 months sober now, and is currently in his after treatment process. I’ll leave this Review with one of my Life Lasting Take aways that I got from the Program at Burning Tree. “No Matter what happens, We are right where we need to be.” Thanks for Reading.

Recovery Unplugged was a god send. Im truly appreciative of their trauma program and of their staff. I’ve never been to treatment before and i was worried staff would just be there for a paycheck but that wasn't the case whatsoever. Staff was kind and patient. They take the time to see how you're doing and truly care. Counselors are real awesome. To be honest I didn't even know it was a trauma center and when I found out I was able to let go of the trauma thats been haunting me for all these years. I thought i was going to take it all to my grave and im glad my counselor Amy made me feel comfortable and safe to do so. The techs are awesome and treat everyone with respect and kindness. The food is awesome there as well. If you have dietary restrictions or needs they will cater to those needs and are super friendly. Alumni coordinators are super friendly and check up on ya after you leave the program. They also set up these cool events you can attend to for free as RU Alumni. This place ROCKS! Highly recommend it.

This place is so amazing. I was just a scared, strong out girl from east Texas when I arrived arvRecivery Unplugged on Albert Road. They did my intake at 3am, made me comfortable, and put me to bed. I went to sleep and woke up to the most amazing staff waiting to greet me and start the process of detoxing my mind and body and getting me well. Throughout my stay. I was treated with the utmost respect. There was not once that I felt like less than family to these wonderful people. The nurses were at my bedside checking my vitals, the techs were assessing my comfort. My dog was accepted and loved. After detox, the work began. But it never felt hard or overwhelming. The program is easy to follow. There was always someone who could answer questions or concerns. Even in the middle of the night. I just graduated the full 4 month program for Recovery Unplugged. I am a far cry from the girl I came in as. I am a sober woman, in Austin, with an apartment a job and a bright future. Thank you recovery Unplugged. I can not express my gratitude enough. You guys are incredible

Seton Williamson Medical Plaza, in Round Rock, Texas, offers mental and behavioral health care services for youth and adults, including specialized programming for adolescents, young adults, seniors, and persons with co-occurring addiction and mental illness. They offer intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), and aftercare programming.
My experiences with my Primary Care doc and her front desk people are fine. My problem is with the 1)numerous text messages sent out before the appt and 2)ridiculous questions on the iPad before the appt. 3)the appointment line itself 512-324-4068. I have never called that number when they would give me an appt in less than 3-4 Months!

This was my new patient visit. Staff was very friendly and efficient. My wait in the exam room was an hour. Dr. Gupta apologized for the wait. Commented that “they were so understaffed “. Also, she kept yawning…said she was so tired. But, she took time with me to go over my medical history and explained her treatment in detail. I have been very pleased with my medical team in the Ascencion Seton system. It’s so nice to have all my providers in a system they can communicate. I’ve always received excellent care in the clinic and hospital. The facility is well maintained.

Driftwood genuinely saved my life, and helped my family find peace, connection, and joy during the long journey of addiction recovery. Through a wide array of treatment offerings, ranging from traditional 12-step work to cutting-edge therapeutic approaches, Driftwood empowered me to grow, change, and become the best version of myself. Many of the people I met at Driftwood, including fellow clients, therapists, counselors, and others, are still in my life today as close friends and mentors. I started my recovery journey with Driftwood Recovery on 9/28/2017 and have had continuous recovery since. The facility, food, staff, education, and treatment team are top notch, A+, 5 Star. What really sets Driftwood apart is their community integration program post impatient treatment. The alumni group is strong and gets together weekly in addition to several events throughout the year. There are camping trips to state parks (Big Bend) annual Christmas party (over 150 staff and alumni attend each year), bowling, sporting events, concerts etc. I just returned from Peru on a trip that was hosted by Driftwood. We had a total of 18 on this trip, a trip that still has me smiling! If you are seeking help for yourself or a loved one I highly recommend Driftwood. Driftwood changed my life, sounds dramatic but it is very true!

Not only to myself, but to Sage, I owe a depth of gratitude for my success in my journey towards sobriety. From the clinicians/techs/chefs & more, comfortable amenities and daily structure in wellness activity provided the best opportunity for success. This journey, though not easy, wouldn't be possible had I not sought out help from Sage Recovery. My life has improved tremendously as a healthier human and my mental health struggles faced head-on. Thank you! I would recommend 100%.

I have waited for over a year to write this review to ensure my time at Sage was indeed "life-changing". I can now confidently say, my decision to seek therapy there was one of the best decisions I have ever made. For over 30 years I struggled with depression and anxiety and turned to alcohol to cope. But thanks to the therapists and counselors at the center, I now have the resources to manage my emotions in a healthy way. I feel like I've regained control of my life, and I'm excited to move forward with a new sense of confidence and purpose. I also attend their alumni group, which offers individuals free, weekly social events that provide ongoing support, education, and networking opportunities. It's an excellent resource for anyone in recovery who wants to continue their journey towards wellness and a better life. Overall, I would highly recommend Sage Recovery Center to anyone struggling with addiction or mental health issues. The environment is wonderful, the people are fantastic, and the support you receive is truly "life-changing". If you're looking for a place to help you get back on track, this is it.

I have been at VA Kerrville since 2018, although many issues with the entire STVA system I enjoy being out here. I have had my same healthcare team and used the same patient advocate since and because I advocate for my self using the tools the VA has given is the only reason I think my Health care is decent enough. Community care in the South Texas Hill country is slow but I prefer my PCP/PCM (Pink Team) over Audi Murphy (felt like cattle going to slaughter) any day. I just moved back to my home of record in SA and I will choose to drive out to Kerrville VA. The Lab, X-ray and Cantina are excellent compared with others as far as customer service and knowledge goes in my experience.

I have been receiving care here for four years and have been satisfied with my care. The nurses and doctors are attentive, caring and competent. If you have questions, bring a list so you don't forget anything important. Appointments have minimal waiting time, and prescriptions are sent to my home.

Love the staff at Kerrville VA, all the way from house cleaning, volunteers, maintenance staff to clerks and medical staff. "Hi, hello, how are you" are heard often in the hallways. I'm seen on the Pink Team and I could not get better care and treatment from clerks to medical providers. The Optometry clinic is small but never an issue getting an appointment. The clerk acknowledges patients quickly. Optometrists are very through. The eye glass department has a very knowledgeable staff, good selection of frames and staff is well trained to help pick the right frame for the right face.

The specialty clinic is clean, and as of this post, wait times for scheduled appointments are very minimal. Great staff and veteran service. As far as the windows where the clerks are, I feel the computers should not block the view between clerk and veteran (very rude). Also, when at the clerks windows, there should be a "pull ticket paper number" and a diisplay showing what window the veteran should proceed to. The ckerks fo a great job assisting veterans. As a veteran and Google reviewer, I highly recommend the South Enterprize VA clinic.
