He is now home. Benchmark was a good facility for him and us as parents. They really have a structured program that he needed. When he first arrived he went through some stuff there however after he was there and got with the right therapist we could tell things started to improve. His therapist JB was awesome. Really has the boys interest at heart and really worked with our son who was not opening up in therapy. JB is a wonderful therapist and so caring. All the staff were great. Sophia who answers the phone was so nice and wonderful Every time we would call. It is hard sending your child somewhere and it was out of state for us so we were nervous. However Benchmark really helped him and us as a family. We got to visit him and have day passes with him. Travis was very helpful in getting that arranged for us. Benchmark program has changed my our lives forever because of the great support and encouragement my son received from Benchmark staff members. Andrew M 4 months ago My son was just transferred to Benchmark from a facility here in Alaska. From the first contact, they were helpful, hopeful, and encouraging to my son and our family. Mindy is his therapist and she has kept in contact with my husband and I and made sure to ask deep questions about our son and his bio family. She takes time to show our son what trauma can do to your brain. Even with the time difference, the staff always makes sure our son gets to talk to us everyday. Without fail. They went over all his meds as well as making sure we as his parents understood what he’s on, why, and what side effects he could have. I cant say the same for the after care though...it wasn't horrible, but my experience just wasn't great. I could care less about the staff there as well. I don't recommend Chatham or w.e their sober living is called. Otherwise their rehab, 10/10 all around amazing! Highly recommend. Just follow the rules. I know its easier said than done. I spent seven months at the Lighthouse on 745 E 300 S in Salt Lake City. During my time there, I learned about how my childhood trauma had shaped my life and started me on the road to addictive behaviors. I learned about my triggers and how to cope more effectively. My behavior changed and I have been sober for more than eight months. I'm now looking forward to a happy and healthy future. Francisco Cid 3 months ago this was my first time in recovery, and it was a great experience. i did the whole thing, starting in residential then moving on to outpatient and sober living. they put me on the path and gave me the tools to make things work. i was homeless and had given up on anything changing a long time ago. after completing the program, i am now employed, for 9 months and i love my job, after sober living i found a place that would rent to me. i did the work, odyssey showed me how, and made every step very doable. they helped me get all my legal problems taken care of and made it possible to get off the streets. after 14 years i had all but given up on anything changing. odyssey house got me motivated and gave me direction. i never thought i would be able to get to where i am now, working got my own place, more than anything im happy, and feel like i have options. im in control of my life. i highly recommend anyone thinking about recovery to go to odyssey, its not easy but they will get you thru it, and its 100% worth whatever it takes to regain a handle on your life. nich jepperson 3 months ago

My best friend had drove from Utah to pick me up because I had back to back overdoses and was close to dying every single day from an extreme GHB, methamphetamine, alcohol, and cocaine addiction, as well as heavy Xanax, klonopin, oxy, and Adderall abuse. I was so bad that he and a small group of my closest friends had to pack my apartment for me before I left, because I was so disconnected from myself and reality. For 20 years I have battled addiction off and on and was always missing the key to keep me in a place where I didn't WANT to do drugs anymore. When I got to Wasatch there was a culture shock and it was scary for me. Utah isn't as diverse as California (especially San Francisco) and there was a fear that I would be treated differently for being a gay man in a conservative state. This was not the case at Wasatch. I was greeted with love and kindness, acceptance and patience. I had a time I wanted to leave and they gave me the space to do so, alongside with the opportunity to questioning my own reasoning for it. This lead to a personal meeting with the owner of Wasatch, Mark that really showed me what This program was about. When I was researching treatment centers the first question I asked was “Do you have a chef that can handle Celiac Disease?” Diego is the chef there and not only can he handle Celiac Disease, but he does it with ease! The average week consists of going to a local gym that is massive- check out EOS in Sandy, then process group with therapists who are also recovering addicts. You feel like they actually get it because they do! In the afternoon it’s a study class around DBT, shame resilience, and healthy communication. In the evenings on M-Th was a meeting either in house speaker or an outside meeting (shoutout to Alano club!). Friday nights were spent playing Sober Softball which I highly recommend because I had a blast! My therapist, Sharon is a strong independent woman that set a huge example to me on boundaries, something I really struggled with going into treatment and have now made strides of progress. I feel I grew as much in 8 weeks as I did in a prior 12 years of therapy. Tyler, the COO, and Jeffery my case manager were able to help me transition to a Sober Living that allowed me to get my ESA back home with me. Rich, Luke, Jeremy, Noah, Christina, Dustin and the incredible support staff also played a huge part in me graduating successfully and starting the next chapter in my life. I was actually treated like a human being with dignity, was listened to enough to actually get stabilized, they have programs, very good food as far as hospitals go, and things to do in your free time like drawing. They even had snacks available to just take. The nurses were kind. One of the nurses even went out of their way to make me feel welcomed (asked about my interests, etc). Being in the psych ward is already so difficult, but this truly felt like a break from my outside life. They don’t force you to do anything you’re against or have you strip down during intake. Another big thing is they separate patients based on what they’re being treated for and their risk level (like for violence) so i was never afraid of any of the other patients I was around. I was going to end my life and this was the start to a lot of treatment for me. three years later and I love life. Claire Isom 1 month ago Huntsman Mental Health Institute changed our lives for the better. Out of necessity I was the caregiver of my childhood friend who was having mental health issues. We couldn't figure out how to help my friend. It was a very overwhelming time. After being admitted to Huntsman, medication and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) were provided which helped bring my friend's personality back to normal and the catatonia went away. I watched the ECT while it was being administered. It is nothing to be afraid of. If they recommend ECT for you or the person you are caring for, it worked for my friend. I recommend it. My friend is on medicine for life now and recognizes how good life is now. Medicine will prevent future mental health episodes. If you feel there is a stigma around a diagnosis, please know that getting help and staying on the proper medicine is more important than what others think. Life can be whole. People can function again. Before going to Huntsman, my friend really suffered because all psychiatric appointments were online. The online psychiatrist couldn't see the mannerisms or what really was happening. Online psychiatric appointments are unable to diagnose properly. I recommend staying away from online appointments. In person is needed. I am SOOOOO grateful for the people who work at Huntsman Mental Health and the people who have donated money to keep it going. Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! Huntsman Mental Health Institute was not the beginning of this journey. It took some years for my friend to accept the diagnosis. Once the symptoms were severe enough, my friend chose to trust the diagnosis was correct by believing friends and family input. Everyone's journey is different. I was made aware of the course by 2 family members in the mental health field. I occasionally was having anxiety episodes that led me to the emergency room with a heart concern. On a couple of occasions it turned into a panic attack. With the information presented to me in the classes I feel I have the tools required to help me before it gets to that point again. I have shared my experiences with a number of friends and they have commented that it could be a good fit for them as well. Because of youth care, my now adult child is NOT therapy resistent, actually enjoys going, graduated high school and is in college and is an amazing mom to her 2 year old son. She was originally assigned to Ty who we liked but then she was moved to her life changing therapist, Jonathan. He was able to connect with her at her level. When she came in she had a rough exterior and her every thing she did she looked for the easiest thing that she could self harm with. Jonathan was able to get on her level and worked with her like nobody ever has. He didn't judge her, he led her with compassion. The family sessions were amazing as well. When it felt like we were getting no where, bam another break through. I also felt that the parent days were eye opening and allowed us as parents to connect and see that we were not alone. There were teachable moments, fun moments, and oh there were moments where I bawled. My daughter, Liz, still talks about so much of the staff that truly made an impact. Personal shoutouts to Karla and Jonathan! Kristen Stinson 2 months ago I will rate Youth Care 4 stars. It was the first place that our daughter made progress after a combination of other placements -residential and hospitals and thus it gets a good rating. I will highlight the strengths and also some concerns , which prevent a 5 star. Our child's therapist, Melissa was incredible - she is experienced, compassionate, and an excellent communicator who always had our daughter's best interests in mind and was always willing to advocate for her. It is clear how deeply she cares and she is REALLY skilled. The financial office did well while navigating the insurance company side of things. There was a thoughtful discharge plan put in place that allowed our daughter to transition safely, first to day treatment, and then all the way home. The continuity of therapist was maintained, which is really crucial. The staff seemed largely to be very compassionate and our daughter spoke positively of most of them. A few of them really went above and beyond to support our daughter when she was really struggling and they never gave up on her. The parent support group was helpful for me and better than others I've been to. Now. a few troubling things: Brighton, the most "secure"of the 4 houses, was extraordinarily chaotic and not a therapeutic environment. It was way too much chaos for kids like my daughter who get stressed when overstimulated. When there, it was hard for our daughter to get to make her (required by law) confidential calls and often had to wait unreasonably long to use the bathroom especially when menstruating due to insufficient staff. Despite it being the most secure, our daughter AWOL'd (while other students,unrelatedly,caused chaos), and nobody knew where she was for HOURS. It was terrifying and should not have happened. Finally During "Parent Days", an adult relative of another student, clearly was looking to start physical conflict with another adult relative of the same child during a group session. Fortunately, no children got hurt but some were seemingly pretty traumatized. It is fortunate that neither adult brandished a gun, given that they do not check visitors for weapons. I suggested that they start to do so, and it doesn't sound like they plan to. Regardless, this could have turned out badly and this person should not have been present in the first place. All in all, we are so glad that our EC recommended Youth Care. They took great care of our daughter and we are so thrilled she's doing better and owe a ton of gratitude to Melissa and the staff. The most important part of this review is how effective her treatment was. They DO need to fix some things though to prevent what could result in tragic outcomes. Despite the issues, which seem to exist everywhere, I would still highly recommend Youth Care (but good to know what to watch out for and ask about). Brian 4 months ago Our daughter (now 17) Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, BPD, spent the last 10 months @ YC and had a very positive experience. She made a ton of progress over her time there. The staff were professional and responsive. Our daughter had aggression issues and was non-compliant with treatment and school at the start of her stay. They paired her with an excellent therapist, and she was able to make tremendous progress. We spent our first 5 months constantly wondering when the "other shoe would drop", and it always did, trust me. But over time, she progressed, and soon the environment became a bit too restrictive for her, but her behavior needed to improve in order for her to move to a step-down program. YC recently revamped their treatment program moving to more of a tiered system, whereas before, all kids (no matter their behavior) were grouped into the same houses. Now, they have 3 tiers of houses. One house is reserved for kids that need the most restrictive environment, and basic behavior expectations are required to move to the next level of house(s). Two houses are the middle tier, where there are higher behavioral expectations and thus less restrictive. Finally, there is the top tier house, which has the highest level of expectation, and therefore the least restrictive. Our daughter spent her last month or so in the top tier house, and she reported it as boring and uneventful, as kids behaved well. Their parent support group is weekly, and they have one specific for SUD, and the other for non-SUD (they run back-to-back). The support groups are for both parents with kids in treatment @ YC, and for those with kids that have discharged from YC. Parent days @ YC are well run and informative. They are very emotionally exhausting (in a good way) and both my wife and I found them to be very beneficial. We were very worried about sending our daughter to any residential treatment facility, and honestly, we waited too long to send her, however; here we are moving to La Europa Academy on 4/1/26. In the past I haven't had the greatest experiences at clinics due to many factors. Like having too many patients and/or lack of empathy. Their intake processes were always so ridiculous. They would make u jump through 100 hoops just to start dosing. And sometimes if you didn't meet their unrealistic qualifications they would turn u away and tell u to come back another day. But Tranquility Place has put those places to shame! The intake process is easy and painless and goes by quick! They get u to dose right away. They have dr's there each morning to help get u to a comfortable dose. The staff there is beyond helpful, professional, very sweet and personable. Very passionate about what they do there and it shows. Ive never felt judged and I've been met with a lot of compassion. I check in with my counselor maybe once a week for no more than 10-20 min at a time. Groups are available but not mandatory! Each time I dose im in and out in the blink of an eye. There is never a wait time when I come in to dose. I'm finally stable and my quality of life is already improving. I was against going back on methadone for a long time. Wonderful folks who only want to help. Follow the rules and have a good experience. Thanks to these guys for helping so many. Be nice and they'll be nice back:) Update about a year later. I still can't say enough good about this location and the wonderful staff here. So much good can happen w the right attitude and accepting the help this place can offer. Money wasn't an issue, I paid out of pocket to start and they helped me get on benefits to ease the costs. But at no time did they turn me away for any reason. I am so grateful for these folks and the assistance they provide time and time again. They really do care so if you are living so hard and feel like no one cares give these places a chance and get help. Totally worth it. 2 years later, still a great resource that likely saved my life. It's worth it call them!

My son was here for almost a year. He is now home. Benchmark was a good facility for him and us as parents. They really have a structured program that he needed. When he first arrived he went through some stuff there however after he was there and got with the right therapist we could tell things started to improve. His therapist JB was awesome. Really has the boys interest at heart and really worked with our son who was not opening up in therapy. JB is a wonderful therapist and so caring. All the staff were great. Sophia who answers the phone was so nice and wonderful Every time we would call. It is hard sending your child somewhere and it was out of state for us so we were nervous. However Benchmark really helped him and us as a family. We got to visit him and have day passes with him. Travis was very helpful in getting that arranged for us. If you are thinking of a place I would recommend them. Thank you to the staff at Benchmark and thank you JB you are awesome we would not be where we are without you.

My son was just transferred to Benchmark from a facility here in Alaska. From the first contact, they were helpful, hopeful, and encouraging to my son and our family. Mindy is his therapist and she has kept in contact with my husband and I and made sure to ask deep questions about our son and his bio family. She takes time to show our son what trauma can do to your brain. Even with the time difference, the staff always makes sure our son gets to talk to us everyday. Without fail. They went over all his meds as well as making sure we as his parents understood what he’s on, why, and what side effects he could have. He hasn’t been there very long, but this is the first time in years that there is hope our son won’t just be another statistic in the system. Thank you Benchmark!

I recently completed 60 days at Pinnacle Recovery Center. My experience,during my time there, was outstanding. If I could leave more stars I would! There were only a few specialty services, such as dental, and some times audiology where we had much of a wait time. Most appointments were scheduled very quickly. I want to say, when my dad went to his appointments, we were NEVER rushed. We would sometimes have 2 1/2 hour appointments! His care team always listened, worked on root causes, helped advocate, and educate us. I feel his care there was superb, and it makes me sad not all VAs in our country have this level of care! Their teams are highly appreciated by us.

I have to take a few minutes and express the amazing facility that this center is. I pray it remains in business for year and years to come! It has been such a blessing to me this year. I am so thankful for being able to find this place. It is definitely a very amazing place with people that come from all walks of life. I feel so thankful to have found The Phoenix. I am amazed by all of the amazing therapists and amazing employees that work there. Bless their amazing hearts! The only thing that I will even mention that may be a downfall for them is sometimes if you need any extra paperwork throughout your treatment for court or anything it can sometimes take extra time and I highly recommend that you give them friendly reminders through phone, emails, friendly reminders at the front desk, etc. anyways thank you to the phoenix I know that I will keep them on a list of resources if I ever need a little extra help again! Way to be Phoenix and staff! 🧡

I am a graduate of Deer Hollow Recovery’s program. I strongly recommend Deer Hollow for anyone who is ready and willing to do the hard work of healing. Deer Hollow staff are highly trained in supporting first responders and military veterans. Their therapists, chefs, technicians, medical, and administrative staff work in tandem to walk with clients. Due to the unique healing work that we need, the process is not always pretty. I got really upset on a few occasions while at Deer Hollow. The staff gave me room to process and also upheld standards. I appreciate the work that Deer Hollow does. I have my life back!!!

I had the best experience here. I loved most of the staff! It had a very homey vibe. They treated me like I was family. Its hard to get sober as it is and the hospitality they showed me was impeccable. The nurses were very kind and took care of me better than the nurses in the hospitals ever did. Very nurturing. I cant say the same for the after care though...it wasn't horrible, but my experience just wasn't great. I could care less about the staff there as well. I don't recommend Chatham or w.e their sober living is called. Otherwise their rehab, 10/10 all around amazing! Highly recommend. Just follow the rules. I know its easier said than done. Getting sober feels like freedom you haven't felt and you almost feel like a kid again. Take advantage of your stay here. Its a great program.

First step gave me my sobriety and I cannot put a price on that. I am at the 411 house... One month left to go. I cannot stress enough how much life has changed. I am now clean and free from addiction. They set you up with dental assistance, an optometrist, as well as safe housing transitions. Thank you to the staff!!! I go to redwood I.o.p odyssey house my name is Sunny, Riojas I'm currently a navigator close to completing. I've learned a lot from Odyssey my favorite assignment was the thinking errors it really helped me see them in myself and has taught me to grow. I recommend this program to anybody still in there addiction most say I won't do that snitching program. But it really ain't like that all it teaches accountability and how to hold your peers accountable. It also shows you how to express your emotions using the encounter process. My experience with the Odyssey House of Utah was life changing. I spent seven months at the Lighthouse on 745 E 300 S in Salt Lake City. During my time there, I learned about how my childhood trauma had shaped my life and started me on the road to addictive behaviors. I learned about my triggers and how to cope more effectively. My behavior changed and I have been sober for more than eight months. I'm now looking forward to a happy and healthy future.

this was my first time in recovery, and it was a great experience. i did the whole thing, starting in residential then moving on to outpatient and sober living. they put me on the path and gave me the tools to make things work. i was homeless and had given up on anything changing a long time ago. after completing the program, i am now employed, for 9 months and i love my job, after sober living i found a place that would rent to me. i did the work, odyssey showed me how, and made every step very doable. they helped me get all my legal problems taken care of and made it possible to get off the streets. after 14 years i had all but given up on anything changing. odyssey house got me motivated and gave me direction. i never thought i would be able to get to where i am now, working got my own place, more than anything im happy, and feel like i have options. im in control of my life. i highly recommend anyone thinking about recovery to go to odyssey, its not easy but they will get you thru it, and its 100% worth whatever it takes to regain a handle on your life.

My overall experience at Brighton was amazing, I'm so deeply grateful for everyone at the South Ogden location. The staff and residents have cultivated an environment that truly supports growth and I left feeling deeply fulfilled. I went in with the mindset "I have to get sober" and left with "I get to be sober." They showed me life can be enjoyed, just just endured. Not white knuckling my way every second of my life. For anyone considering this step, you truly get out what you put in. If you come in surrendered, open, and willing to accept the process, the reward is life changing, I promise with all my heart. Taking that step requires immense vulnerability, but at Brighton, that vulnerability is matched by a team that genuinely cares. The head nurse, Siobhan, was a true blessing, my therapist Shawn was amazing, and the technician staff were all fantastic. It is so important to be surrounded by people who are passionate about their work, and that is exactly what I felt every day. I really appreciated the balanced program they offer combining deep group therapy and individual one-on-one sessions with holistic activities like spirituality, exercise, art, and outdoor time. While there were a few days where communication felt a little disconnected, the team overall stayed completely on top of the program and delivered a remarkably strong experience. I’m sharing this because deciding to enter recovery can be terrifying. I hope my experience can be a beacon of hope for someone else standing on the edge of that choice... Take the leap. On April 4, 2025 I was checked into Wasatch Recovery Treatment Cent from San Francisco, CA. My best friend had drove from Utah to pick me up because I had back to back overdoses and was close to dying every single day from an extreme GHB, methamphetamine, alcohol, and cocaine addiction, as well as heavy Xanax, klonopin, oxy, and Adderall abuse. I was so bad that he and a small group of my closest friends had to pack my apartment for me before I left, because I was so disconnected from myself and reality. For 20 years I have battled addiction off and on and was always missing the key to keep me in a place where I didn't WANT to do drugs anymore. When I got to Wasatch there was a culture shock and it was scary for me. Utah isn't as diverse as California (especially San Francisco) and there was a fear that I would be treated differently for being a gay man in a conservative state. This was not the case at Wasatch. I was greeted with love and kindness, acceptance and patience. I had a time I wanted to leave and they gave me the space to do so, alongside with the opportunity to questioning my own reasoning for it. This lead to a personal meeting with the owner of Wasatch, Mark that really showed me what This program was about. A type of love that I had never experienced from complete strangers that would soon blossom into a community of friends and family that have supported me throughout every step. Today, I am over a year sober. I have a good job, an apartment, I'm on the softball league, and I have 2 dear friends who even helped me with a car so that I could get to work and rebuild my life. I have rekindled relationships and transformed my mind, body, and spirit. This program works if you are willing to work for it too. They will show you so many variations of therapy that will explain how addiction works in the brain, a personalized therapist will challenge you to go deeper in yourself than you ever wanted, and the experiential therapy will reconnect you with life and nature. The food is great, the staff is loving and comes from the heart, and it is a safe place to grow bigger than you could ever imagine. That's why I love Wasatch and if you're reading this and need help, I hope you know that this is a special place that can help you too.

Wasatch has been the absolute BEST!! The staff is amazing and each one of the clients get to have access to therapy with The main Man Todd Sylvester who really can figure out what needs to be tweaked or overhauled like me!! Last but most importantly is the yoga that they provide in treatment lead by the master yogi Tina the Guru who can see right through you which makes it easier to be real which feels good. Because of there recovery yoga classes they provide after treatment with the Best teacher on the planet Sage, they get my 5 stars and 🕺🏻emoji!! Get the help you deserve and call Wasatch!! I just recently returned from spending 5 weeks at Pathways. While it was long and difficult it will prove to be very much worth it in the long run. The entire staff is incredible. The CEO, house manager, Dr., therapists and the entire support staff genuinely care about your wellbeing and treat you with understanding, love and respect. It may not be the fanciest facility but it's clean, peaceful and full of positivity. I've been to "luxury" rehab facilities in the past and I'll take Pathways staff and care over the "luxury" any day. If you truly want to get well and are willing to do the work I highly recommend Pathways to start your journey towards recovery.

Two years ago, I came to Pathways after a year of looking for help for a severe eating disorder where I lived in Nevada, to no avail. I had no hope or motivation to live anymore, but after my family convinced me, I decided to give it one last try. It is difficult to express how special this program is. Especially for those who really want life to get better. Their approach is unique, focusing on the specific issues underlying maladaptive behaviors and aiming to heal what makes people want to turn to substances or self-destructive behavior. I am alive today and actively pursuing a future because of the amazing, supportive staff at Pathways. I have experienced more positive, effective progress in the 2+ years I’ve been working with Tina than I experienced in the previous decade of therapy. Her patience, acceptance, and real/relatable nature has given me the space to make healthier decisions and the support to face difficult truths. Michael Ryan is an incredible recovery specialist who cares enough to be direct and honest and knows how denial can derail recovery. Yoga Chelsey has a wealth of knowledge and genuine desire to see clients heal. Doc Sellers was fantastic and encouraged me to keep trying when facing medication-related concerns and issues. Honestly, there are too many amazing people, both Clinical and Support staff, to specifically name them all. No program is perfect. There is a lack of attention given to teaching a variety of healthy coping skills, especially for a program that treats disorders which typically involve emotional dysregulation and trauma. Client dynamics can be a mixed bag and even professionals sometimes make mistakes. However, everyone is passionate about helping clients turn their lives around. Pathways is a special community and offers so many options to fit individuals’ lives. If you are willing to do the work, they are willing to walk with you through it.

Having been to many treatment centers in the past 22 years I recently graduated from Pathways residential treatment and have to say it has helped me help myself more than any other treatment center. Pathways has a unique approach to the treatment of mental health and addiction to where I didn't just feel like another client, I felt like part of a family who understood me, staff included. I wish I could single out every staff member there because they all care so much. I do want to give a shout out to one staff member. If it hadn't been for Ally who talked with my daughter for an hour, and then me when we were looking for a treatment center, and the way she took the time to explain to us what Pathways was about without trying to sell something really helped me make a decision that would change my life. I just graduated from Journey Treatment Center and I would recommend it to anyone genuinely looking to change their life. When I was researching treatment centers the first question I asked was “Do you have a chef that can handle Celiac Disease?” Diego is the chef there and not only can he handle Celiac Disease, but he does it with ease! He always made sure to make my food first and it definitely wasn’t basic! Between Coffee Cakes, Pesto Pasta, his specialty pancakes (we all know how hard it is to make a decent GF pancake) it was beyond delicious. In regards to the treatment team and curriculum they have outdone any other program I’ve been to or heard about. The average week consists of going to a local gym that is massive- check out EOS in Sandy, then process group with therapists who are also recovering addicts. You feel like they actually get it because they do! In the afternoon it’s a study class around DBT, shame resilience, and healthy communication. In the evenings on M-Th was a meeting either in house speaker or an outside meeting (shoutout to Alano club!). Friday nights were spent playing Sober Softball which I highly recommend because I had a blast! My therapist, Sharon is a strong independent woman that set a huge example to me on boundaries, something I really struggled with going into treatment and have now made strides of progress. I feel I grew as much in 8 weeks as I did in a prior 12 years of therapy. Tyler, the COO, and Jeffery my case manager were able to help me transition to a Sober Living that allowed me to get my ESA back home with me. Rich, Luke, Jeremy, Noah, Christina, Dustin and the incredible support staff also played a huge part in me graduating successfully and starting the next chapter in my life. For the first time in a decade I have 100 days Sober and I’m sailing along. I can’t wait to see how life turns out for me in this next decade!

Next level is a great treatment and Sober Living properties program, I have been with them since end of 2022 and still reside there in a Management position. The staff is great. They have these tools in place for your change to happen. They have staff ready that engage with you every step of the way. They understand your individual situation as and they have the programs in place to create the positive changes you desire. As far as inpatient goes, I would basically only recommend this facility. I was actually treated like a human being with dignity, was listened to enough to actually get stabilized, they have programs, very good food as far as hospitals go, and things to do in your free time like drawing. They even had snacks available to just take. The nurses were kind. One of the nurses even went out of their way to make me feel welcomed (asked about my interests, etc). Being in the psych ward is already so difficult, but this truly felt like a break from my outside life. They don’t force you to do anything you’re against or have you strip down during intake. Another big thing is they separate patients based on what they’re being treated for and their risk level (like for violence) so i was never afraid of any of the other patients I was around. I was going to end my life and this was the start to a lot of treatment for me. three years later and I love life.

Huntsman Mental Health Institute changed our lives for the better. Out of necessity I was the caregiver of my childhood friend who was having mental health issues. We couldn't figure out how to help my friend. It was a very overwhelming time. After being admitted to Huntsman, medication and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) were provided which helped bring my friend's personality back to normal and the catatonia went away. I watched the ECT while it was being administered. It is nothing to be afraid of. If they recommend ECT for you or the person you are caring for, it worked for my friend. I recommend it. My friend is on medicine for life now and recognizes how good life is now. Medicine will prevent future mental health episodes. If you feel there is a stigma around a diagnosis, please know that getting help and staying on the proper medicine is more important than what others think. Life can be whole. People can function again. Before going to Huntsman, my friend really suffered because all psychiatric appointments were online. The online psychiatrist couldn't see the mannerisms or what really was happening. Online psychiatric appointments are unable to diagnose properly. I recommend staying away from online appointments. In person is needed. I am SOOOOO grateful for the people who work at Huntsman Mental Health and the people who have donated money to keep it going. Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! Huntsman Mental Health Institute was not the beginning of this journey. It took some years for my friend to accept the diagnosis. Once the symptoms were severe enough, my friend chose to trust the diagnosis was correct by believing friends and family input. Everyone's journey is different. Huntsman Mental Health along with friend & family support, really worked for us!

I joined a group for 5 weeks and enjoyed every moment. I was made aware of the course by 2 family members in the mental health field. I occasionally was having anxiety episodes that led me to the emergency room with a heart concern. On a couple of occasions it turned into a panic attack. With the information presented to me in the classes I feel I have the tools required to help me before it gets to that point again. I have shared my experiences with a number of friends and they have commented that it could be a good fit for them as well. After multiple failed residential attempts, our Educational Consultant referred us to Youth Care. Because of youth care, my now adult child is NOT therapy resistent, actually enjoys going, graduated high school and is in college and is an amazing mom to her 2 year old son. She was originally assigned to Ty who we liked but then she was moved to her life changing therapist, Jonathan. He was able to connect with her at her level. When she came in she had a rough exterior and her every thing she did she looked for the easiest thing that she could self harm with. Jonathan was able to get on her level and worked with her like nobody ever has. He didn't judge her, he led her with compassion. The family sessions were amazing as well. When it felt like we were getting no where, bam another break through. I also felt that the parent days were eye opening and allowed us as parents to connect and see that we were not alone. There were teachable moments, fun moments, and oh there were moments where I bawled. My daughter, Liz, still talks about so much of the staff that truly made an impact. I will rate Youth Care 4 stars. It was the first place that our daughter made progress after a combination of other placements -residential and hospitals and thus it gets a good rating. I will highlight the strengths and also some concerns , which prevent a 5 star. Our child's therapist, Melissa was incredible - she is experienced, compassionate, and an excellent communicator who always had our daughter's best interests in mind and was always willing to advocate for her. It is clear how deeply she cares and she is REALLY skilled. The financial office did well while navigating the insurance company side of things. There was a thoughtful discharge plan put in place that allowed our daughter to transition safely, first to day treatment, and then all the way home. The continuity of therapist was maintained, which is really crucial. The staff seemed largely to be very compassionate and our daughter spoke positively of most of them. A few of them really went above and beyond to support our daughter when she was really struggling and they never gave up on her. The parent support group was helpful for me and better than others I've been to. Now. a few troubling things: Brighton, the most "secure"of the 4 houses, was extraordinarily chaotic and not a therapeutic environment. It was way too much chaos for kids like my daughter who get stressed when overstimulated. When there, it was hard for our daughter to get to make her (required by law) confidential calls and often had to wait unreasonably long to use the bathroom especially when menstruating due to insufficient staff. Despite it being the most secure, our daughter AWOL'd (while other students,unrelatedly,caused chaos), and nobody knew where she was for HOURS. It was terrifying and should not have happened. Finally During "Parent Days", an adult relative of another student, clearly was looking to start physical conflict with another adult relative of the same child during a group session. Fortunately, no children got hurt but some were seemingly pretty traumatized. It is fortunate that neither adult brandished a gun, given that they do not check visitors for weapons. I suggested that they start to do so, and it doesn't sound like they plan to. Regardless, this could have turned out badly and this person should not have been present in the first place. All in all, we are so glad that our EC recommended Youth Care. They took great care of our daughter and we are so thrilled she's doing better and owe a ton of gratitude to Melissa and the staff. The most important part of this review is how effective her treatment was. They DO need to fix some things though to prevent what could result in tragic outcomes. Despite the issues, which seem to exist everywhere, I would still highly recommend Youth Care (but good to know what to watch out for and ask about).

Our daughter (now 17) Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, BPD, spent the last 10 months @ YC and had a very positive experience. She made a ton of progress over her time there. The staff were professional and responsive. Our daughter had aggression issues and was non-compliant with treatment and school at the start of her stay. They paired her with an excellent therapist, and she was able to make tremendous progress. We spent our first 5 months constantly wondering when the "other shoe would drop", and it always did, trust me. But over time, she progressed, and soon the environment became a bit too restrictive for her, but her behavior needed to improve in order for her to move to a step-down program. YC recently revamped their treatment program moving to more of a tiered system, whereas before, all kids (no matter their behavior) were grouped into the same houses. Now, they have 3 tiers of houses. One house is reserved for kids that need the most restrictive environment, and basic behavior expectations are required to move to the next level of house(s). Two houses are the middle tier, where there are higher behavioral expectations and thus less restrictive. Finally, there is the top tier house, which has the highest level of expectation, and therefore the least restrictive. Our daughter spent her last month or so in the top tier house, and she reported it as boring and uneventful, as kids behaved well. Their parent support group is weekly, and they have one specific for SUD, and the other for non-SUD (they run back-to-back). The support groups are for both parents with kids in treatment @ YC, and for those with kids that have discharged from YC. Parent days @ YC are well run and informative. They are very emotionally exhausting (in a good way) and both my wife and I found them to be very beneficial. We were very worried about sending our daughter to any residential treatment facility, and honestly, we waited too long to send her, however; here we are moving to La Europa Academy on 4/1/26. Thank you Youth Care for the love and care you and your staff showed to our daughter and family.

I've been going here for about a month now. It's been years since I've gone to a clinic. In the past I haven't had the greatest experiences at clinics due to many factors. Like having too many patients and/or lack of empathy. Their intake processes were always so ridiculous. They would make u jump through 100 hoops just to start dosing. And sometimes if you didn't meet their unrealistic qualifications they would turn u away and tell u to come back another day. But Tranquility Place has put those places to shame! The intake process is easy and painless and goes by quick! They get u to dose right away. They have dr's there each morning to help get u to a comfortable dose. The staff there is beyond helpful, professional, very sweet and personable. Very passionate about what they do there and it shows. Ive never felt judged and I've been met with a lot of compassion. I check in with my counselor maybe once a week for no more than 10-20 min at a time. Groups are available but not mandatory! Each time I dose im in and out in the blink of an eye. I have a 4 star honest rating! No one is perfect especially in the recovery addiction business. But these guys actually care. They care about you your health. You deal with a counselor Kevin he’s a 5 star counselor! Definitely cares and knows a little about what he’s doing! Definitely a blessed man indeed! The doc doesn’t know a whole lot about addiction because he came from pediatrics so Kevin fills in well! If you’re struggling and need help go to this clinic? It’s more than worth it if you have Medicaid people! It’s free to those with Medicaid insurance! Why not better yourself and take the first step in recovery? It’s helped me get my life back not addicted to pain pills anymore! Praise God for that!

As ANY Addict knows getting CLEAN is THE HARDEST THING to do!!! I HONESTLY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE TRYING TO GET CLEAN!!! Amethyst Center for Healing, and Jana Fulmer changed my life. As a trans person recovering from trauma, this was a safe haven that is irreplaceable. I was given space and tools to start discovering more about myself and how to grow when in a place of pain. I also really respect what they do— not only working with victims of violence but those who have hurt others. This reparative justice ethos is inspiring and part of a future that focuses on rehabilitation not punitive systems. I’m so much happier with my life, and a lot of that has to do with the empowerment and trust I was given at Amethyst to start making decisions in my life that were more focused and less reactionary. Jana showed true care and empathy towards me, and helped me feel supported and valued. I can’t recommend enough!
