It’s not a cookie cutter program and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Since I left I’m still involved with the stuff they do in after care and alumni activities which are great ways to stay connected to a lot of people who truly are still putting in the work to stay sober and a lot of us have become close friends and hang out a few times a week. It’s not uptight like a lot of places which is very helpful in early recovery, the music aspect is great even if you don’t play any instruments, and the housing setup is great as well. The rules are pretty simple. No vaping inside (at the center) and you can’t have your phone during group lol pretty reasonable. Otherwise there’s still a sense of normalcy. Highly recommend to anyone who’s ready to make that 1st big step! I was a bit apprehensive at first and couldn’t be more grateful that I did it. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years! Attending PHP and IOP here has truly been one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made, and I can genuinely say that this place helped save my life. When I came here, I was struggling in ways that are difficult to put into words. I wasn’t sure what my future was going to look like, and I didn’t know if I had it in me to keep fighting. But the staff here met me where I was, showed me compassion when I needed it most, and reminded me that recovery is possible—even on the days when I couldn’t believe it myself. During the most heartbreaking time of our lives, you didn’t just care for my mom , you cared for our entire family. The staff here are so incredibly supportive and have your back through everything. Amelia, Danielle, Amanda, Kathy, Tony, Lucia, Meta, and Matt deserve a special shout out. Not only do I feel like I have come so far in recovery for my ED, but I have found out so much more about my mental health in general and feel much better equipped to deal with stressors. In my experience, all of the staff truly do want what is best for the patients and their recovery. My only complaint has to do with corporate CFD not having urgency to approve things that need to be repaired or fixed. Thank you to everyone who at CFD McLean who was there to support during my stay. I also want to say that all of the staff is very approachable and I have not been mistreated or lied to. There was not a single time I went to staff with a complaint, trigger, or confrontation and left feeling unheard or unsupported. Other than that I can not speak for the program after Mrs. Carissa left. When I was there it was tough but it is what i needed. I have never been to a program that actually cared and literally internally got to me dug up some buried issues and I worked on them. Mrs. MELVINA was my counselor, she was amazing. Most of the staff had went through addiction. Mrs Denise was amazzziiinnggg i never felt uncomfortable, leaving my son with them during the day. The whole staff at that time was amazing. Yes, it was very strict, but they did it in a loving way because they did not want us to die. I know countless women That graduated the Chrysalis House and are still clean. I have ten fifteen, close lifelong friends that I had met at Chrysalis and that are still clean to this day. I have never went to a treatment that had this much success. Like I said, I cannot speak for the new staff, but it sounds like it is still a great program.While I was there and before I left, they were building on the new addition which was beautiful.It was finished before I left but was not open yet. A woman and children's program is needed and I hope that this one is ran as good as it was when I was there.I'm sure it is. I felt so safe with my children. I know you can't please everyone but they did try to. Most of the residential staff was wonderful very attentive to the clients needs. The two that I felt that went beyond their job was Simone and Melissa I felt very safe and comfortable w them and they are some of the most compassionate, caring staff I have come across I truly believe they are at their job not only for a paycheck but to help. They also provided us a family therapist and offered voluntary group therapy sessions for all the parents who currently had teens in the program, which was a great resource and helped my husband and I feel less alone. From the intake to the out processing, my teen reported feeling safe and well cared for and my husband and I shared that sentiment. We were a little nervous going in because of the online reviews, but if your family is struggling with a teen with addiction, we highly recommend this place. I was exhausted, sick, diagnosed with ketoacidosis from lack of nutrition and just wanted genuine clinical answers/help and not discrimination. The lovely receptionist immediately treated me with kindness and sympathy when I walked in with my bags, taking them and I back to a room immediately. Dr. Julie Seaman was able to evaluate and prescribe medication for my situation, and for the first time in years, I feel as though I have been prescribed the proper medication regimen for my Bipolar 1.
