Naperville, IL | SunCloud Health – Naperville Treatment Center offers substance abuse addiction treatment programs that help heal an individual's mind, body, and spirit. This addiction treatment center works alongside clients to ensure they feel empowered, supported, and cared for on their road to recovery and sobriety. Located in Naperville, Illinois, this drug | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Suncloud has been a life saver. The staff was and is always welcoming and caring. One of the things that has been the most helpful for me has been the aftercare, follow ups and continued connection I get with them. It has become part of my family now and its a lifestyle. One of the things I lost in my life was a sense of being part of my community and having that desire to isolate from people. I dont feel that way anymore because of Suncloud. Now I have friends and people I really trust. Which is huge to me with my trust issues. Suncloud taught me that I cannot do this alone and showed me that I wasnt alone. This is a lifelong journey and my life is better now because I chose to do something about it, and Suncloud gave me the tools I needed. The aftercare is something I look forward to now and I really appreciate all the friends I've made along the way. 🫶❤️

What stands out most is their collaborative approach. They value input from outside providers and maintain open lines of communication, which makes continuity of care seamless.
I have full confidence in referring people to SunCloud Health, knowing they will receive excellent, personalized care.

Overall, my experience at Gateway Chicago was exceptional and overwhelmingly positive. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion. The food was good, the staff was outstanding, and my counselor, Nate, was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Supervisor Herb is highly professional and, as he often says, he "gets things done" for the clients—a statement I personally witnessed time and time again. His leadership has had a tremendous impact on the men's unit, and he deserves recognition for creating an environment where clients feel supported, respected, and encouraged to succeed.
I would also like to recognize Mike, Muhammad, Kenny, Kevin, Richard, Eva, Prentice, Katelyn, China, Mr. B, and Dale. Dale's classes are engaging, informative, and inspiring, and his passion for recovery is evident in every interaction he has with clients. Every one of these staff members demonstrated professionalism, compassion, patience, and dedication. They treated not only me but every client with kindness and respect, making recovery feel possible and giving people hope during one of the most difficult times in their lives.
Gateway Chicago, located at 3828 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois 60624, did far more than provide substance abuse treatment—it helped bring sanity, clarity, and serenity back into my life. The staff consistently went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and the needs of others. I witnessed countless acts of generosity and compassion. For example, today the facility distributed an abundance of quality clothing to clients. Priority was given to those who arrived with nothing, and after everyone in need was taken care of, there were still enough clothes for others. It was just one of many examples of how Gateway genuinely cares about the people they serve.
The facility itself is clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, clients receive three meals a day along with a snack, and the overall atmosphere promotes healing and recovery. While anyone can find something to criticize about any organization, I found very few, if any, faults with Gateway Chicago. My overall experience exceeded my expectations.
I am sincerely grateful to the ownership, the corporate leadership, and every member of the staff for the hard work, compassion, passion, and dedication they show every day to individuals seeking recovery. Most importantly, I am grateful that Gateway helped me regain peace of mind, hope for the future, and the serenity I had been missing for so long. I wholeheartedly recommend Gateway Chicago to anyone seeking treatment. Their commitment to helping people rebuild their lives is evident in everything they do, and I will always be thankful for the care and support I received there.

7Jul2026 Follow up from the woman's health clinic after ER visit suggested by Dr. Burgard for my wrist injury. Nurse Patricia I was extremely friendly and gave me options to get my eyeglasses, teeth cleaned, and referral, for my spouse to get a primary physician. A lot of words with actions to back up every single letter. Super impressive.
17Apr2026 Review changed to 5 Stars. Extremely helpful couple working the mid-counter were able Guide me to the secondary eye clinic, Brenda was super friendly getting me checked into the acute Eye clinic. Additionally while I waited the workers at the coffee lounge we're exceedingly helpful and very cheerful. There was a new female who was very cheerful and was thanking the veterans for there service. In ( the main eye clinc) Dr.Dessler was very thorough ask and educating me on the 4 treatments. Both eye clinics were very transparent. And that is something to be stated. I highly recommend the eye clinics here.
11Nov2025 Downgraded to 1 star Review After " Alexis " (Women Clinic) left a voicemail attempting to get me into an appointment. Alexis left me on hold for 10 minutes. Then lied about an open December appointment. Utilizing words like we only have one doctor that can see people "like you". She then stated that they only have openings for late February.
I have never asked for services as a female or Transgender. I'm a guy, period.
There is no reason for gender stereotyping because I choose to dress or look a certain way.
As such the TSP CPT Dr.Jefferies chose to act with violence during one of our sessions.
This is very vindictive behavior.
Other than the outstanding lab department & Dr.Riz
I do not recommend this location for now.

3Jul2025 (5 Five Review) A great man walked these halls. DR.B will be remembered and mark a standard of care that is yet to be seen at this location.
No ceremony for a person who did the right thing always.
What a joke how you treat a Doctor who served Veterans for 10 + years.
Go to the back where the staff & doctors are sleeping sprawled out on all benches ( like hobos) specifically built gazebos for veterans. You should be ashamed of yourselves for taking a space designed for veterans especially ones that are homeless.

Geneva, IL | Care Addiction Center is an outpatient addiction treatment provider in Geneva, Illinois, offering flexible, person-centered care for individuals and families affected by substance use. The program provides intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient services, individual counseling, family therapy, aftercare, alumni support and online treatment | Treatments Programs Payment Options | This is my first time experiencing an addiction recovery program. But I can honestly say I've never been part of any program (of any kind) that has counselors and leaders with bigger hearts! I was recommended this place by my therapist, and can honestly say it was not only the best decision I've ever made but the most life-changing decision I've ever gotten to experience. As soon as I started, I could instantly tell that the counselors and leaders weren't just there to do a job but genuinely cared about every patient who entered their program. It was amazing to not only get education and tools on how to go through recovery but also how to cope with life outside of recovery with a tailored made schedules for each individual. This program also has amazing outside events for its patients in recovery, such as game nights, movie/book club nights, and more. Care Addiction Center is more than a program; it's a beating heart that saves & changes lives! I can honestly say it saved mine! If you're looking for a program that can get you to that next step when every other programs or every other solution has not worked, I promise you if you follow their advice and tips, you definitely will. I'm grateful to have met every single person a part of this program! I don't think there is a better recovery program that really exists; especially for its affordability. I know I'm biased, but there are many who would back that! I'm genuinely so grateful for these counselors and leaders and the many I've met who joined me in the program along the way!

BEST EXPERIENCE!!! This center was perfect for me because I am not a very social person and the small group sessions were perfect. I choose to take part of the Symetria program voluntarily and it was one of the best decisions of my life! Not only are the staff like family, so are the individuals that pick Symetria too. Now days, customer service is pathetic and people are rude and most push you out the door, but not here. This place has the warm feeling like "The door is always open", and "how can we help you", We are here for you, it doesn't matter the time or the day, we care about you. You're a shining star and a success, not a failure. This place is secure, confidential, clean and has several options to help you along your journey. You are able to volunteer your time, make new friends and can help save a life, change a life and feel proud of who you are. Symetria creates an environment where people feel safe, supported, and valued. The morning IOP group supported me through the hardest part of my life and I will forever be grateful for the amazing people I met. I think each one of us in the group looked forward to our time together in that healing place. Our counselor Brian is an expert in his field. He led our group through many difficult topics and conversations and did so with enormous compassion. Individual sessions with Brian were always insightful. This facility treats a broad range of mood, eating, and trauma disorders alongsi | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I see a lot of negative reviews on here and my experience might have been different due to my age (late 30s). I wanted to be at TK. I didn't have someone make the decision for me, although my husband was very supportive.
Out of all the staff, there were only 2 I didn't like. Not that they were bad, just a clash with our personalities.
I have epilepsy, it's chronic and active. I had to go home to have surgery (a replacement battery for the device that helps control my seizures). I was gone for about 36 hours. The staff was great with my seizures and with my surgery.
I thought I was going to need to go back when my husband passed away, but I made it through. A lot of that I can credit TK with for giving me the tools to work with.
The only problem I really had was leaving. Leaving was terrifying because that safety net just vanished. That is one thing I think the staff needs to prepare you a bit better for.
I've been healthy since leaving. Sure, I still get the feelings/urges on occasion but I created my own safety net. I can control the urges. I'm actually rather proud of myself.
PS - If any of the former staff ever reads this "Meany Mo-Mo" you know who you are. Thank you, for all you did. Your patience, your help, and just being there when I needed it. You literally are the best. <3

Ascension Alexian Brothers is a hosp | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I’d like to start out saying thank you Ascension Saint Lexington Brothers elk Grove Village hospital.
My experience this time around at this hospital was really good
Nice and clean and easy to get to.
The hospital stay for four days was very nice. Third floor room 3107 very clean and nice. I gotta say the bed was pretty comfortable.
The day shift staff was very nice and on top of everything. The Night Shift staff was very kind and nice .
One thing the hospital patient chair when not in bed needs to be updated. The handles on the arms on the chairs were rickety and dirty and beat up not very comfortable.
Overall, I would come back to that hospital again to have any other procedures done.
I do recommend this hospital.

Staff is warm, helpful, competent, attentative in conversation, patient & responsive in registering, processing, diagnosing & treating. A+ .. admitting in ER was simple & quick. Err medical Staff was efficient, professional, sensitive & pleasant working with me. The STAFF AT EVERY LEVEL WERE MORE LIKE A WARM FAMILY THAT A BUNCH OF IMPERSONAL WORKERS AT A COLD JOBSITE.
I had a complex serious illness which mimicked a STROKE but was quickly Medically Assessed Corrrectly by MEDICAL TRIAGE , using IMAGING SCANS, BLOOD CHEMISTRY ANALYSIS & A VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COMPETENT MEDICAL DOCTOR with a Serious Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) requiring ImmediateSERIOUS IV ANTIBIOTIC TREATMENT & QUICKLY ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL WITH TREATMENT BEGINNING…
THE NURSING STAFF WAS EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD. VERY PROFESSIONAL, VERY SUPPORTIVE AND QUICKLY RESPONSIVE.
This hospital quickly access the last 20+ years of my medical records from my prior hospitals in Tennessee. So they knew all of my conditions and all of my medical issues in addition to what they were treating.
PS: The food is prepared by a chef, I was able to order from a menu which included vegan vegetarian food. It was delivered hot individually, not as part of trying to feed every person in the hospital at the same time it was restaurant quality food. I have never had such good food in hospital.

Saint Charles, IL | Lighthouse Recovery is located in downtown Saint Charles, Illinois, and offers outpatient treatment for clients with substance use (SUD) and co-occurring mental health disorders. They have a Level I outpatient program for adolescents and adults, as well as a Level II intensive outpatient program (IOP). Clients can receive medication assisted treatm | Treatments Programs Payment Options | All the staff here is exceptional. Yet there are 3 people I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart; Nate (the clinical director), Dr Steve Holtsford, and a Lighthouse collaborator, Rehna Becker. These 3 people have saved my life in their own way. That's no small thing.
Nate was the one who got through to me when no one else could. He is the reason I stayed in recovery. He's so incredibly intelligent, witty, charismatic, heartfelt and has a brilliant sense of humor to go with a great big heart. I think a good sense of humor is wildly underappreciated when dealing with such incredibly heavy topics. Likewise, he knows the exact moment to pivot and get real with you. He is the one who started this whole incredible program.
Dr. Holtsford is probably the best physician working in addiction medicine in the state of Illinois and I would wager, he's going to emerge as a leader at the national level. He stays up to date with the most cutting edge research as it relates his area of expertise. He has a certain ease about him that makes it easy to open up and be honest which is one of the greatest challenges facing anyone who is in recovery. There could not be a finer medical director at the helm of a recovery clinic.
Last but definitely not least is Rehna. She is the most extraordinary therapist I have encountered in my lifetime and I have met with dozens. I am not sure I should be mentioning her as I believe she has a separate practice that's in the same building. Rehna is the "thermonuclear" option in the absolute best sense. She is the therapist to see for those who are truly lost causes. She is burdened with the most severe cases yet she maintains such a bright disposition despite routinely dealing with the most intractable cases of patients with severe trauma. I owe her my life. Thank you Rehna for sticking with me and for encouraging me to be "the man in the ring."

It's wild to imagine that I've been a patient with Lighthouse now for more than a decade. They've stayed with me through thick and through thin. They've been patient with me when I made mistakes and never turned their back on me or cast me aside like so many other doctors. You can expect to be treated with respect and dignity. You and your loved ones will be supported, not only by the amazing staff but by the people who come to group and share their experience.
This place has none of the dogmatism of a twelve step group. I have nothing against 12 step but the "all or nothing" approach where you get chips and count days never worked for me. It's been a long slog but I've been in recovery now for 5 years going steady and I owe my thanks to the good people who run this place.
I think the community owes this establishment a huge debt. The stories you'll hear of the struggles of people from all walks of life during groups makes you realize that without a place like this, there would be a lot of funerals taking place. Addiction doesn't discriminate based on your socio economic status or skin color. You'll see people from every walk of life come together here to support one another. It's a beautiful thing.

These folks are doing God's work. If you're a patient that benefits from this place, the least we can do is share our experiences with a review. I don't know what I would do without them. Thank you Nate, Rehna, Steve, Emily and Elora! ♥️ They're truly the best of the best.

I must say, during a time when a person is going through an awful situation and trying to get back to normal, it is important to know that there are still people out there who genuinely do the hard work to help others to get back on track. Patience, understanding, and true effort are given by this team! I am grateful for the real diligence and authentic car of the Care Clinics of Naperville! Although it is not a happy occasion to need this kind of help, it is great that a team like this one will work hard on your behalf! Thank you Scott and Sarah!!

Joliet, IL | Existential Counselor Society is a person focused recovery program with three locations throughout the Joliet, Illinois area, including this one on Manhattan Rd. This is a recovery program that serves men who are experiencing behavioral health struggles including substance use struggles which have prevented them from leading a healthy and fulfillin | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Finding this treatment center was the moment everything changed for me. Before I walked through their doors, I felt completely lost, consumed by my addiction, and convinced that a healthy, happy life was out of reach. This center didn't just help me get sober and off of hard drugs; they gave me the tools, support, and hope I needed to rebuild my entire life from the ground up.
What sets this place apart is the incredible human connection. The staff, counselors, and medical team treat you with unwavering respect, dignity, and empathy from day one. In my darkest moments, when I couldn't see a way forward, they held the belief in my recovery until I was strong enough to hold it for myself. Their personalized, compassionate approach made me feel safe, heard, and truly understood rather than just another case file.
I am writing this with a profound sense of peace and a clear mind that I haven't experienced in years. Saying "thank you" feels far too small for what they have done for me—they truly saved my life, and I will be forever grateful for this second chance. If you or someone you love is struggling, please know that healing is possible, and this is the place to find it.
With that being said, It's unsettling to read some of these negative reviews knowing that they are the farthest thing from the truth. Unfortunately it's all too common a trait for someone like myself - to make everything else the problem except me. It's sad to know that these people leaving bad reviews didn't give themselves a chance by accepting what is so simply laid out in front of you the moment you walk through the doors of ECS ~ A WAY OUT! A better life. Better relationships. A comfort with myself that I didn't know was possible being sober/drug free. A desire to participate in society as a functioning human being! These were all things that did not exist less than a year ago but do now. But if I didn't make the decision that I wanted things to change the moment I walked in the door, then I'm almost certain that I would not be here today. ECS never lied to me or sugarcoated my problems. They never mistreated me. They simply expected me to respect my peers and the staff just as they did to me the moment I walked through the door. And I thank God I did! Some of us just simply aren't ready. And when that's the case we find them unable to accept accountability and work hard to change. I did find it hilarious how one of the "negative" reviews unintentionally said something positive by saying "these reviews are by people who work here" By saying that he admitted just one more way that Dr. Sharma helps us out! (I have never worked at ECS but I read through them all. And out of the 100 plus reviews only a handful are from employees but their voice counts just as much, if not more). But it is very cool that some people go through ECS and then are trusted enough to be employed by the very people who know their darkest days. Kudos ECS!

Where to start with ECS. Well at the lowest point in my 42yrs of existence on this Earth. I found myself at Chicago Behavioral Hospital. And after being dazed and confused for the first four days in detox - I came to the realization that I was broken mentally, physically and spiritually. I was offered help and got connected with what I now know - is one of the best things that's happened to me. They connected me with Existential Counselors Society (ECS). I've never been to a treatment center in my life as a client. In the past as a member of A.A. I brought meetings to clients at other treatment centers. But this place is different it's truly special; it has opened up my mind to another approach on how to deal with my alcoholism. They speak my "language" what comes from the heart reaches the heart and I finally picked up that last missing piece of the puzzle to understand and deal with my alcoholism. From Doc, Justin, Brian, staff and all the counselors - especially the counselor that was assigned to me are all phenomenal. I believe God deliberately placed them in my path so I can truly come to grips with reality and gave me information so I can make good and informed decisions - direct them towards positive actions in my life. When you're ready to stop and stay stopped this is your place to go. (Be a Nike commercial and "Just Do It.")
