I can't even remember the names however I do remember one name and that was John in intake. I am tremendously grateful for John. He was so sweet, caring and hospitable! The food was good, the staff was outstanding, and my counselor, Nate, was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Supervisor Herb is highly professional and, as he often says, he "gets things done" for the clients—a statement I personally witnessed time and time again. His leadership has had a tremendous impact on the men's unit, and he deserves recognition for creating an environment where clients feel supported, respected, and encouraged to succeed. I would also like to recognize Mike, Muhammad, Kenny, Kevin, Richard, Eva, Prentice, Katelyn, China, Mr. B, and Dale. Dale's classes are engaging, informative, and inspiring, and his passion for recovery is evident in every interaction he has with clients. Every one of these staff members demonstrated professionalism, compassion, patience, and dedication. They treated not only me but every client with kindness and respect, making recovery feel possible and giving people hope during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Gateway Chicago, located at 3828 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois 60624, did far more than provide substance abuse treatment—it helped bring sanity, clarity, and serenity back into my life. The staff consistently went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and the needs of others. I witnessed countless acts of generosity and compassion. For example, today the facility distributed an abundance of quality clothing to clients. Priority was given to those who arrived with nothing, and after everyone in need was taken care of, there were still enough clothes for others. It was just one of many examples of how Gateway genuinely cares about the people they serve. The facility itself is clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, clients receive three meals a day along with a snack, and the overall atmosphere promotes healing and recovery. While anyone can find something to criticize about any organization, I found very few, if any, faults with Gateway Chicago. My overall experience exceeded my expectations. I am sincerely grateful to the ownership, the corporate leadership, and every member of the staff for the hard work, compassion, passion, and dedication they show every day to individuals seeking recovery. Most importantly, I am grateful that Gateway helped me regain peace of mind, hope for the future, and the serenity I had been missing for so long. The staff are mostly friendly and it's easy to get into the clinic within a day or two. Once you get to the correct methadone dose the dope sickness is mostly gone and then you can slowly get back to a normal life. I've had a few counselors since going here and all were nice and professional but my current one Gary is Awesome. He seems to really care and is always helpful. I would most likely be dead if I didn't sign up at Family Guidance. If you're looking for a way to stop using dope give this clinic a try. I had hit the lowest point in my life and after seeking mental help in multiple states with various providers, I wasn’t anticipating this would be any different. My assumptions were wrong and after 3 months, I left feeling better than I have ever felt in over 7-8 years. There is no shortage of compassionate and helpful people and resources at compass. It truly feels like everyone there is focused solely on you. A typical day looks entails 3 group sessions where you learn skills and others where you have group discussions. This can feel nerve wracking in the beginning, but mostly it gives a sense of common humanity. I had the pleasure of seeing Nathalie, Maggie, Caroline, Jaycee (I’m sorry if I missed your name) as group therapists during my time there. All of them work to keep our sessions productive and positive, and they do. Also, during the week you will get pulled from group sessions to receive even more support that include 1-1 therapy, psychiatry and outside resource help. Dr. Henry was my psychiatrist who is very concise and pleasure to be around. He takes the time to connect with your doctors and is incredibly detail oriented. Maija, worked on transitioning me to help find outside therapy (after I left), job resources and psychiatry; she is wonderful. Brian, my family therapist worked endlessly to build a better communication channel between myself and my family. He is extremely talented at what he does and I admire the work he puts in to what I know is a difficult job. Lastly, Camilla my primary therapist was the most helpful and supportive therapist I have ever had in my (I’ve seen A LOT). I don’t have enough positive things to say about her. She challenged me to take steps that no other therapist prior had been successful at. She is kind, caring and I will truly miss her support. If you’re on the fence about joining the compass I hope my review might persuade you to give it a shot. I tell my doctors, friends and family just how much the people and program meant to me and I mean it. P.S. - Shoutout to everyone working at the front desk. Only after a couple weeks they greeted by first name and were so kind and helpful. Taylor “T” 4 weeks ago I can’t put into words the impact compass had on me. I been debating going into the OCD program for nearly 6 months before I did and I can’t express enough the lasting impact it had on me. While I can’t speak to the other programs at Compass I can however speak extremely highly of the OCD/Complex Anxiety team. Dr. Han was the most amazing psychiatrist I have ever had, he met me where I was and made me feel like a human first. You spend the majority of your time there in group with the group therapists who truly are the heart and soul of compass. Wanted to specifically shoutout Emmy who clearly has a passion for what she does, and let me tell you she is in the right career path (lol). I am leaving compass obviously not cured but having a much better grip and understanding of my mental health, I am also leaving with a plethora of skills that I have already found extremely effective. They didn’t really treat anything and got discharged few hours later. We decided to go to St Joseph. The medical staffs here are great. They said we needed to be admitted due to our complications. They were taking care of us until we were transferred to inpatient unit. Nat 2 weeks ago I was on a long weekend birthday vacation with my adult daughter when unfortunately my life-long auto-immune disease decided to flare. I had to go by ambulance from our hotel room to the ER. We were told our best chance of being seen quickly was a drop off at St. Joe’s. Turns out, that was the only bit of fortune I had that weekend. I have been to many ERs and have endured hundreds of in-patient stays over the course of 50 years. St Joe’s in Chicago, Illinois, is the only hospital I’ve ever felt moved enough to leave a review. In general, I only take the time to leave feedback when what I’m reviewing is extremely positive or extremely negative. From the doctors and nurses in the ER to my 3-night stay on the eleventh floor it was a good experience. Everyone was very professional and compassionate. I guess I could say that St. Joe’s was my birthday gift. Every bit along the way I felt seen and heard. I was in pain and extremely dehydrated, but I felt very safe and truly cared about in every department I had to deal with. I was treated with respect and kindness. My room was kept clean, linen changed when needed and when I pressed the button for a nurse, I didn’t wait more than 5 to 10 minutes. If you know you know how quick that is. I never felt I was burdening anybody with my needs. My discharge went smoothly and quickly, which is also rare. As I’m writing this, I’m aware it sounds like I’m leaving a good review for a hotel, but it’s really important that I let others know where I received such empathetic and professional care. It's like they say it only works if you work it this place takes a lot of people that don't have insurance therefore they probably don't make a lot of money but overall the people care they care enough to take care of people that can't take care of themselves and can't afford it either. It's truly disturbing that a lot of people gave a one-star rating just because of food. This place saved my life, I was on Mater Hall with my child. I loved Mater Hall and most of the counselors, and caseworkers.. Ms Pink and Ms Jones were just case workers and I felt I got more advice and help from them, Emily was also extremely helpful and supportive. I recommend this place fully!! They really understand us women and what we go thru. I won't say the same for the supervisor Emily who literally runs a maternity ward and will deny you your cravings no matter how reasonable it is. She made it feel like a prison with your special commissary and be thankful you even eat attitude. Pregnant woman should be allowed SWEETS AND ICE CREAM especially if those items can be purchased downstairs in the pharmacy. My time at Haymarket flew by and I was able to complete 22 days successfully and get my first ever certification of completion 🤗 and have been able to stay sober since I've been home. Going back to the staff above I constantly remember things they said that stuck with me and all the support they gave just by being real. Haymarket food isn't the best consider it county food but they did end up hooking a girl up due to health issues (shout out to Danielle &Wanda) also their doula program is AMAZING the doulas they have are the absolute best (Alexis and Crystal!) they also have powerful testimonies and really care about you as a person and a mother. The counselors and caseworkers they have also help manage your case (shout out Ms Lisa!) Once again I'm greatful to this place for employing staff who have powerful testimony and can actually relate to where you are in your recovery journey. Overall, my experience at Gateway Chicago was exceptional and overwhelmingly positive. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion. The food was good, the staff was outstanding, and my counselor, Nate, was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Supervisor Herb is highly professional and, as he often says, he "gets things done" for the clients—a statement I personally witnessed time and time again. His leadership has had a tremendous impact on the men's unit, and he deserves recognition for creating an environment where clients feel supported, respected, and encouraged to succeed. I would also like to recognize Mike, Muhammad, Kenny, Kevin, Richard, Eva, Prentice, Katelyn, China, Mr. B, and Dale. Dale's classes are engaging, informative, and inspiring, and his passion for recovery is evident in every interaction he has with clients. Every one of these staff members demonstrated professionalism, compassion, patience, and dedication. They treated not only me but every client with kindness and respect, making recovery feel possible and giving people hope during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Gateway Chicago, located at 3828 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois 60624, did far more than provide substance abuse treatment—it helped bring sanity, clarity, and serenity back into my life. The staff consistently went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and the needs of others. I witnessed countless acts of generosity and compassion. For example, today the facility distributed an abundance of quality clothing to clients. Priority was given to those who arrived with nothing, and after everyone in need was taken care of, there were still enough clothes for others. It was just one of many examples of how Gateway genuinely cares about the people they serve. The facility itself is clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, clients receive three meals a day along with a snack, and the overall atmosphere promotes healing and recovery. While anyone can find something to criticize about any organization, I found very few, if any, faults with Gateway Chicago. My overall experience exceeded my expectations. I am sincerely grateful to the ownership, the corporate leadership, and every member of the staff for the hard work, compassion, passion, and dedication they show every day to individuals seeking recovery. Most importantly, I am grateful that Gateway helped me regain peace of mind, hope for the future, and the serenity I had been missing for so long. I wholeheartedly recommend Gateway Chicago to anyone seeking treatment. Their commitment to helping people rebuild their lives is evident in everything they do, and I will always be thankful for the care and support I received there.

Most grateful for this treatment center on my 7th anniversary sober from alcohol. The seeds Hazeldon planted saved my life! Shame on whoever is letting Susan Nice run meetings out of your building. She let a stranger stroke my leg her entire meeting and never stopped it once. Had the audacity to ask if it was my boyfriend after. Knowing I live with PTSD from abuse being my longtime 'godsponsor'. She just spoke at the Canada opening. How are you letting someone so detached from reality speak to those in need of help? How many meetings has she been to? Her suggestions along with Laura Ws (whos Mom works with congress scary enough) and the ladies of AA in particular are reckless. Suggested I do my first lead of life and didnt show up. How many woman have you sponsored Laura? You suggested more fellowship and ditched me at my first AA dance. 2 ladies came to Windy City Church women's big book meeting on Mondays and felt so shamed the went home and killed themselves. Those ladies made me feel the same but I refuse to kill myself though your careless suggestions made me feel like I should. The ladies in AA arent doctors. Thanks for being professionals Hazeldon. Alano clubs are hot spots for gossip that's ruining lives. Grateful to be alive and sober. Thanks for starting my journey with me 14 years ago! Been going to Family Guidance for awhile now and I absolutely recommend this methadone clinic to anyone struggling with opiate addiction. The staff are mostly friendly and it's easy to get into the clinic within a day or two. Once you get to the correct methadone dose the dope sickness is mostly gone and then you can slowly get back to a normal life. I've had a few counselors since going here and all were nice and professional but my current one Gary is Awesome. He seems to really care and is always helpful. I would most likely be dead if I didn't sign up at Family Guidance. If you're looking for a way to stop using dope give this clinic a try.

I was referred to compass back in May after being hospitalized. I had hit the lowest point in my life and after seeking mental help in multiple states with various providers, I wasn’t anticipating this would be any different. My assumptions were wrong and after 3 months, I left feeling better than I have ever felt in over 7-8 years. There is no shortage of compassionate and helpful people and resources at compass. It truly feels like everyone there is focused solely on you. A typical day looks entails 3 group sessions where you learn skills and others where you have group discussions. This can feel nerve wracking in the beginning, but mostly it gives a sense of common humanity. I had the pleasure of seeing Nathalie, Maggie, Caroline, Jaycee (I’m sorry if I missed your name) as group therapists during my time there. All of them work to keep our sessions productive and positive, and they do. Also, during the week you will get pulled from group sessions to receive even more support that include 1-1 therapy, psychiatry and outside resource help. Dr. Henry was my psychiatrist who is very concise and pleasure to be around. He takes the time to connect with your doctors and is incredibly detail oriented. Maija, worked on transitioning me to help find outside therapy (after I left), job resources and psychiatry; she is wonderful. Brian, my family therapist worked endlessly to build a better communication channel between myself and my family. He is extremely talented at what he does and I admire the work he puts in to what I know is a difficult job. Lastly, Camilla my primary therapist was the most helpful and supportive therapist I have ever had in my (I’ve seen A LOT). I don’t have enough positive things to say about her. She challenged me to take steps that no other therapist prior had been successful at. She is kind, caring and I will truly miss her support. If you’re on the fence about joining the compass I hope my review might persuade you to give it a shot. I tell my doctors, friends and family just how much the people and program meant to me and I mean it. P.S. - Shoutout to everyone working at the front desk. Only after a couple weeks they greeted by first name and were so kind and helpful.

I can’t put into words the impact compass had on me. I been debating going into the OCD program for nearly 6 months before I did and I can’t express enough the lasting impact it had on me. While I can’t speak to the other programs at Compass I can however speak extremely highly of the OCD/Complex Anxiety team. Dr. Han was the most amazing psychiatrist I have ever had, he met me where I was and made me feel like a human first. You spend the majority of your time there in group with the group therapists who truly are the heart and soul of compass. Wanted to specifically shoutout Emmy who clearly has a passion for what she does, and let me tell you she is in the right career path (lol). I am leaving compass obviously not cured but having a much better grip and understanding of my mental health, I am also leaving with a plethora of skills that I have already found extremely effective. Obviously this program is not cheap depending on insurance but I have found it worth every penny!!

PSI saved my life. The people here not only helped me want to live a healthier life, but they also helped me find my voice again. This was my second IOP program and honestly the service and care that I received was on a completely different level. Mike Geraci is one of the best therapists I've ever had the pleasure of working with. PSI and Mike went above and beyond for me and my peers to make sure that we finished the program ready to jump back into our lives. I also spent time and stayed at the sober living apartments through PSI and would highly recommend this choice. The apartment was comfortable and in a great location. Shame on me. Next month, instead of giving you full disclosure i'll tell you a fairytale. That must be so much more productive. Do you think I disclose the truth because I'm an idiot? No, it's because I actually trust professionals. You breached it. I don't want special treatment. However, if you're going to play a petty game, have the guts to say it to my face. I can't come tomorrow morning and show you my half strip. That doesn't mean I'm selling the sub strips or some other ridiculous concern. I was on a long weekend birthday vacation with my adult daughter when unfortunately my life-long auto-immune disease decided to flare. I had to go by ambulance from our hotel room to the ER. We were told our best chance of being seen quickly was a drop off at St. Joe’s. Turns out, that was the only bit of fortune I had that weekend. I have been to many ERs and have endured hundreds of in-patient stays over the course of 50 years. St Joe’s in Chicago, Illinois, is the only hospital I’ve ever felt moved enough to leave a review. In general, I only take the time to leave feedback when what I’m reviewing is extremely positive or extremely negative. From the doctors and nurses in the ER to my 3-night stay on the eleventh floor it was a good experience. Everyone was very professional and compassionate. I guess I could say that St. Joe’s was my birthday gift. Every bit along the way I felt seen and heard. I was in pain and extremely dehydrated, but I felt very safe and truly cared about in every department I had to deal with. I was treated with respect and kindness. My room was kept clean, linen changed when needed and when I pressed the button for a nurse, I didn’t wait more than 5 to 10 minutes. If you know you know how quick that is. I never felt I was burdening anybody with my needs. My discharge went smoothly and quickly, which is also rare. As I’m writing this, I’m aware it sounds like I’m leaving a good review for a hotel, but it’s really important that I let others know where I received such empathetic and professional care.

The people saying that the food was like Cook county jail's food obviously never been to Cook county. It's like they say it only works if you work it this place takes a lot of people that don't have insurance therefore they probably don't make a lot of money but overall the people care they care enough to take care of people that can't take care of themselves and can't afford it either. It's truly disturbing that a lot of people gave a one-star rating just because of food. This place saved my life, I was on Mater Hall with my child. I loved Mater Hall and most of the counselors, and caseworkers.. Ms Pink and Ms Jones were just case workers and I felt I got more advice and help from them, Emily was also extremely helpful and supportive. I recommend this place fully!! The focus is getting clean not being pampered like your on vacation !!!

Shout out to Ms. Jones and Ms. D aka Ms. PINK 🩷 Ms. Jebriyah Ms. Daryce and Ms. Michelle of mater hall, they make staying worth it with their down to earthness and constant support. They really understand us women and what we go thru. I won't say the same for the supervisor Emily who literally runs a maternity ward and will deny you your cravings no matter how reasonable it is. She made it feel like a prison with your special commissary and be thankful you even eat attitude. Pregnant woman should be allowed SWEETS AND ICE CREAM especially if those items can be purchased downstairs in the pharmacy. My time at Haymarket flew by and I was able to complete 22 days successfully and get my first ever certification of completion 🤗 and have been able to stay sober since I've been home. Going back to the staff above I constantly remember things they said that stuck with me and all the support they gave just by being real. Haymarket food isn't the best consider it county food but they did end up hooking a girl up due to health issues (shout out to Danielle &Wanda) also their doula program is AMAZING the doulas they have are the absolute best (Alexis and Crystal!) they also have powerful testimonies and really care about you as a person and a mother. The counselors and caseworkers they have also help manage your case (shout out Ms Lisa!) Once again I'm greatful to this place for employing staff who have powerful testimony and can actually relate to where you are in your recovery journey. All jokes aside they should have a security officer on the floor at all times it was a little intense with all the fighting 🫣 Thank you to the staff at Haymarket for everything and for my floor mates for making the time go by fast and for the life long friendships made!

I've been here twice... Certainly the best 28 day program in the area. Two amazing counselors who educate residence on addiction and push and motivate them to be better. I am grateful to this place however ashamed that I relapsed again after two stays here. They certainly did there best... And do not take into account the bad reviews. If you've been to several programs and treatment centers around Chicago then you know HAS is one of the better ones. My mother stayed here with my siblings and I... Almost 20 years ago, now. It just randomly surged into my memories, but I recall all the people being very sweet and the program helping her a lot, even if I didn't exactly understand what it was for at the time.
