I was a little nervous about going to a psych hospital that was an hour and a half from where I lived, but I have nothing to say but good things about this facility. The shrink wasn't the best, but the nurses and support staff were amazing. I spent a little over 2 weeks there, and it really helped. Not my preferred psych facility, but they really helped. So, if yr having trouble dealing with mental health, and in need of help, this place won't do you wrong. And the food was very good. Once they realized I was a vegetarian, I got great food. This place helps you put things into perspective. After my stay, I know I won't need to go anywhere else. They made me understand that I'm ok. And that's a feeling I haven't had in a while.

I did have one issue every time this girl threw a tantrum they would make us go somewhere else. I cannot say enough positive things about Wheeler Clinic. I was seen the same day for intake and the next day by a therapist who I absolutely love. I’m seeing a PCP within 1 week of intake. They saved my life and gave me a life I never thought would be possible. If you're questioning getting on the program then please give it a chance it's worth it. I went from homeless and jobless to having a beautiful home a beautiful career and a beautiful family and most importantly of all I'm actually happy. The only time I encountered issues with this program was when there was issues with myself that I had to work on. Once I figured that stuff out, the program became very useful resource for me, in fact the most important resource in my recovery has been ROOT and CCAR combined. So grateful this program exists!

I joined this program almost 5 months ago (6/15/23), and so far I am very pleased with the services that they provide. I have been on 2 other programs (New Era in Bridgeport and CT Counciling Center in Danbury) prior to my joining the Root Center, and in my experience, the Root Center is a far better program. The nurses, the councilors, and the rest of the staff are extremely professional while maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere for their patients. Unfortunately, I did have a couple of false positive urinalysises. However, when they saw how upset I was over the error, they believed me, and approved my take home bottles anyway. That would have NEVER HAPPENED at the other programs I have been on. If you are struggling with addiction and are considering joining the Root Center, do it. Today could be the day that you begin to turn it all around. Make the call. God bless!!
It has been a couple of months since my last review. In that time I had my bottles recalled for another false positive. There's been a lot of talk at the program about this issue. Apparently this isn't a "me" problem. It's a "we" problem. Because a high (no pun intended) number of clients are complaining about false positives, and to me, that's a problem. I can't speak for everyone else, but in my case, I know that I haven't used since 6/23. It's now 1/24. I shouldn't have any drugs left in my system. The Root Center really needs to address and fix this issue. Not only is it unfair to be treated punitively when you are innocent of wrongdoing, it is also dangerous to the addict. It's the sort of thing that can topple someone's recovery.

They don't play games and I appreciate that because if someone isn't serious then don't waste people's time and try to get "free" high. That's the wrong mentality. I have a family member that had to go in there from a fall. It's half rehab and the other half is a convalescent. Well this is the third time I had to put her in there for rehab and I will tell you one thing this is the cleanest most efficient place I've ever been to. The staff is like family to their patients unbelievably great with them you don't get any attitude from anybody. They stop immediately what they're doing to help the patients I just love this facility I won't let her go into any other rehab Care around. I think everyone in that building that's employed deserves a raise because it's run so smooth and they're all great people!!!

I was here May 7, 2021-June 12, 2021. Great, caring staff who went above and beyond for the clients. They encouraged clients to participate in group etc but did not force anything on anyone. The staff was truly amazing and wanted to see clients do better for themselves. I was kept busy and felt that my voice was heard and my needs were met. My counselor was Seva and she was THE BEST! She had my discharge plans ready by the second day I was in the inpatient program (after detox). She listened to my needs and made sure they were all taken care of. This place saved my life and I would definitely send someone I love here! Forever grateful.

I was in their PHP (Partial Hospital Program) 1 year ago, they treat the kids well and offer lots of classes, usually in speech and OT. It’s not fun but it’s functional. The nurse, Gabby, is also very nice.

I am permanently disabled since 2016 and I have been a “professional patient my whole life.
As a DCF contractor, I was assigned a big high profile case for a two year old who was beaten, almost to death.
What I witnessed, learned and loved about HFSC is that everyone who works there WANTS to be there and all of the staff were always smiling in the halls and you can “feel” the commitment to compassionate and THE VERY BEST in comprehensive care like I have not witnessed anywhere before or still.
I have continuously recommend HFSC since working that case.
Not only did that beautiful baby girl live, but her progress was unprecedented because of your staff.
So, when I needed physical therapy in 2017, I demanded that HFSC was to be the ONLY option for me.
My care team in 2017 and my care team now are indescribable regarding their calling in life and their continued commitment

This review is for HVCC DIAL A RIDE ONLY (therapy there is outright unethical). The entire staff at HVCC Dial A Ride are wonderful! They are very accommodating to your need for rides and VERY prompt picking clients up! I no longer need them, but would definitely use them again if needed.

Went in for a TIA and immediately seen by the ER doctor for testing, etc. I was admitted and was there for four days. Every nurse, nurses aid was great and Dr. Gretchen Holloway was absolutely fantastic. I read the negative reviews but based on my care, I would recommend Bristol Hospital.
